Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

One street after another was quickly passed by during their conversation. Wen Yu was not someone who was usually late. Apart from unexpectedly encountering Rahal and teasing the little guy along the way, they didn’t delay much time.

At this moment, the two quickened their pace, and before long, the central control tower of the Eternal Sky City was in sight in the distance.

The meeting is being held here, and it’s also the gathering point. Once the military and Wen Yu’s intelligence are sorted, and strategies are formulated, the powerful experts from the military will use the nearby teleportation array formation to directly teleport to Mount Kosciuszko in the eastern mountains of Australia.

As for the regular troops and numerous divine beast species, they had already set off earlier and have now landed on Australian soil, fully prepared.

Compared to the sudden attack of the previous life, the emergence of the Origin Extraction Device in this lifetime turned things into an open and fair confrontation. The powerful intelligence system gathered over eighty percent of humanity’s strength at the Yanjing Assembly Site and Eternal Sky City, the Sea King Tribe under Lin Haifeng’s control, numerous divine beast species tamed and allied by Yanjing, and the Demon Tribe’s overwhelming power penetrating Earth with various unknown secrets, making it difficult to have any secrets in this war...

From the very beginning, this turned into a contest of open strength! The only thing being compared was who had more and stronger aces up their sleeves.

When Wen Yu and Tang Haofei entered the central control tower, martial law had already commenced, and no one was entering or leaving the tower. Tang Haofei glanced at his watch, indicating that they had arrived just on time. He quickly verified their identities at the tower’s entrance, took the elevator, and then headed straight to the top floor of the control tower.

Standing at the conference room door, Tang Haofei solemnly tidied his clothes, then stood beside the reflective glass curtain wall, looking at his mental state before finally pushing open the conference room door.

”The meeting begins!”

Before Wen Yu could even enter the room, an arrogant and commanding voice had already emanated from within, followed by the sound of ”reports” echoing.

Time was pressing, ensuring that this meeting would be distinctly different from the usually lengthy meetings.

...

By the time Wen Yu stepped into the room, Tang Haofei was already seated at the main position on the podium, listening to the intelligence department’s briefing below.

A tall man, presumably the intelligence minister, spoke rapidly. Fortunately, everyone present was not weak, and the swiftly flowing words just grazed their ears, with most of the intelligence already conveyed.

”A very strong space fluctuation was observed above Mount Kosciuszko at precisely 7 a.m. this morning. It is estimated that in two hours from now, the Boundary Cracking Device will be fully activated, while a large group of Demon Fiends from the Demon Realm’s Gate is emerging en masse on the Australian continent, all of which are Peak Level 6 Demons. The Sky Eye System has also detected the light of the Dimensional Maze opening. In these past three days, our intelligence department dispatched three teams to investigate inside Mount Kosciuszko, but no intelligence was reported back. It is preliminarily estimated that there are communication intercepting devices or barriers inside...”

Standing at the doorway, Wen Yu looked around. Sequence Number 2, following closely behind Tang Haofei, naturally drew everyone’s attention. However, Wen Yu indeed underestimated Tang Haofei’s deterrent in the Eternal Sky City. Under Tang Haofei’s intimidating gaze, the military experts seated below, and even the powerful experts from the Ultimate Force Team, merely glanced at Wen Yu from the corner of their eyes, then made no further movements. Even Qin Tian, seated not far away, only looked up at Wen Yu, offering a smile that was harder to look at than a grimace before hurriedly lowering his head.

Looking over at Arthur, Yang Hong, and Wang Fucai, all dressed in military uniforms near Qin Tian, Wen Yu slightly raised an eyebrow—goodness, Old Tang sure moves fast. In just a few months, he managed to train these ”wish-for-freedom” guys to be so compliant...

The intelligence minister continued describing the known intelligence. What’s left is essentially discovering what powerful experts from the Demon Tribe have broken through, which Demon Fiend has exceeded limits, whose strength warrants attention, what powerful unknown war weapons the Demon Tribe has brought, and what Yanjing’s response preparations are.

Simple words contained a vast amount of information, but that was mainly for the ordinary participating Sequence-class powerful experts in this battle—in fact, this meeting was initially prepared for these participating ordinary Sequence-class experts.

The military had to assign missions and organize teams for them. For Wen Yu and Tang Haofei, the intelligence in this meeting was dispensable.

Old Tang, still staring intently on the podium, had a wandering gaze, proving that he shared the same thoughts as Wen Yu. Meanwhile, Lin Haifeng and Fran beside Tang Haofei were extremely serious; they were, after all, the key organizers of this meeting.

”Well, let’s begin assigning teams. Walter, you take Sequence Number 35, Sequence Number 56, and Sequence Number 89 to this location and stand by. Qin Tian, you take Arthur, Wang Fucai, and Yang Hong to this location and stand by. Kasu, you will lead the second Elite Collective Army, and Qin Min will lead the third Elite Collective Army for a frontal assault. Fran, your responsibility is to liaise with the Sydney Assembly Site and the divine beast species on the Australian continent, having them join the second and third Elite Collective Armies for the attack. After the meeting, commence immediately and act swiftly, striving to take Mount Kosciuszko before the Origin Extraction Device fully descends. Once the extraction device is fully in place, it signifies the complete failure of the first attack. You all must retreat immediately as Yanjing will engage with hot weapon strikes...”

Lin Haifeng continued to speak at length, only now did Wen Yu find a vacant spot and sat down casually, indicating just how rapidly this meeting was progressing.

Lin Haifeng hadn’t finished his speech, continuing to assign the mission targets and tasks for the military’s powerful experts present. Wen Yu, while recalling the intelligence minister’s remarks, continued to verify it with the intelligence in his hands, and in less than ten minutes, when Lin Haifeng uttered the eight words, ”Meeting adjourned, prepare to move out,” the meeting ended just like that.

As Wen Yu prepared to rise and leave with everyone else, a spiritual fluctuation halted him.

”Stay for a moment...”

Lin Haifeng’s voice rose, and the brief words pinned Wen Yu to the spot. After everyone had left, only Wen Yu, Tang Haofei, Lin Haifeng, and Fran remained in the conference room.

”This time, I will stay at Yanjing to oversee the situation, so the warfare in Australia will be comprehensively managed by Fran. Please assist each other as much as possible.”

Lin Haifeng’s first sentence announced the Chief Commanding Officer for this operation—however, such matters belong to those who are capable. Wen Yu and Tang Haofei did not place much importance on the title of Chief Commanding Officer.

The two were only highly skilled in combat; when it came to command ability, they would rather not discuss it.

Seeing them nod, Lin Haifeng adjusted his posture: ”Now, let’s talk about your assignments. Hmm, this should be the highlight of this meeting, shouldn’t it?”
