Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu’s assured tone allowed Fran to breathe a sigh of relief. Watching Wen Yu affirm the promises made in the past, a smile involuntarily appeared on Fran’s wrinkled face.

Times have changed, and now Tang Haofei’s second personality is overwhelmingly dominant. The military cannot ascertain whether Wen Yu, with his self-serving nature, would offend the overwhelmingly powerful and inevitably victorious Tang Haofei No. 2 for the sake of a vague favor.

It appears that the military was ”judging a gentleman with the heart of a villain.”

Fran watched as Wen Yu placed the Deep Sleep Spell into the space ring and recalled the plan set with Lin Haifeng and Tang Haofei, then began to explain the detailed steps to Wen Yu.

Wen Yu listened and noted, until thirty minutes later when Fran had finished describing the entire plan. As Wen Yu’s mind resonated with the comprehensive plan considering all aspects, he was simultaneously in awe of the military’s thoroughness and deeply aware of the true danger of Tang Haofei’s situation.

If there was any possibility for Tang Haofei to resolve the cost of power, the military would not employ such a self-damaging plan!

”That’s about the gist of the plan.”

Fran was exhausted—even though speaking for thirty minutes didn’t consume much physical energy, just thinking about Tang Haofei’s situation made Fran feel weary.

A cup of hot tea was considerately handed to Old Man Fran. Looking up, he saw Wen Yu’s smiling face: ”Have some water.”

Fran smiled and shook his head, took the cup, and sipped gently. The tea wasn’t particularly good, but it brought a trace of warmth to Fran’s heart.

”If only Tang Two was like you...”

Fran’s words made Wen Yu smile wryly: ”Is it that bad? You all wish for Tang Haofei’s personality to become like mine... then who will act as your Protector God?”

”We don’t really need a Protector God. Aren’t you doing well now? You resolved the Battle Zone Africa in the blink of an eye. Although you don’t belong to the military, your influence within the military is significant. We all acknowledge your contribution to the Human Race!”

This is somewhat like ”Though I am not in the martial world, my legend lingers in the martial world.”

Wen Yu felt a bit embarrassed—even though securing the Battle Zone Africa wasn’t strictly necessary, there were many benefits. Wen Yu did it entirely for his own power, but it’s undeniable that this had a massive impact on the entire world.

Outside, there might already be a large group of ”Sequence Number 2 worshipers,” or Wen Yu might even receive a ”Human Race Protector” title unknown to him...

After these random thoughts swirled in his mind, and having finished tea with Fran, Wen Yu promptly took out a heap of technological know-how profession-change scrolls and other things from the space ring, handing them over to Fran.

Wen Yu didn’t calculate the exact value, but it was roughly a bit more than the two scrolls Fran handed over. However, Wen Yu didn’t care much, as with his current strengths and future potential of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill, the military probably wouldn’t have anything impressive enough to startle him. As for technological materials, Wen Yu had little use for them, so there was no need to haggle.

After handling the transaction, Wen Yu chatted with Fran for a bit before notifying Mountain Kui to see the guest out.

Seeing this, Fran hesitated for a while before finally speaking out about the last task of his visit.

”Um, Wen Yu, Tang Haofei wants to see you, and we’re not sure how to brush him off.”

”Hmm?”

Wen Yu immediately looked up at Fran.

”Not sure how to brush off... what does that mean?”

”Sigh...”

Fran sighed and said, ”He wants to find you for some reason, and his determination is firm. As you know, except for a few in the military, others don’t know what’s happening to Tang Haofei. He has assigned the task of contacting you to Qin Min simply because he finds it cumbersome. While Qin Min can manage to muddle through for a few days, once Tang Haofei comes forward himself... the military’s intelligence system does have his location on record, and those lower in rank won’t refuse Tang Haofei’s orders.”

Let’s not even get into things like whether there’s a record; the entire Earth is only so big, and Africa only covers so much area. If Tang Haofei truly wanted to find Wen Yu, unless Wen Yu hid in the treasure land, Tang Haofei could find Wen Yu’s specific location even if he had to search the whole place like fishing a needle out of the ocean.

It’s difficult to fish out a needle from the ocean, but it depends on who is doing the fishing!

”He wants to see me... and for some unknown reason, hmm...”

Wen Yu fell into deep thought, then lightly chuckled: ”Since he wants to meet me, let’s meet. Conveniently, I’d like to see what this Tang Two is all about.”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s decision after contemplation, Fran silently sighed, thinking this would naturally be the case...

Wen Yu has no reason to fear meeting Tang Haofei. To say that Tang Haofei wants to see Wen Yu, yet Wen Yu avoids it out of fear is really an insult to Wen Yu—meeting is just meeting; what’s the harm?

However, for the military, the encounter between these two could lead to a series of highly variable issues!

If Tang Two promises Wen Yu an astonishing reward that leads Wen Yu to abandon his promise and help Tang Two.

If Tang Two fears that Wen Yu might shake his ”god” identity and directly comes to blows with Wen Yu.

If Wen Yu has ill intentions and for some more significant gain reveals the plan to Tang Two.

In summary, the variables are numerous, and the military certainly doesn’t want Sequence Number 1 and Sequence Number 2 to come into contact.

But this matter isn’t something they can control...

Sorting out his thoughts, Fran sighed again, then couldn’t help but advise: ”Tang Haofei is in a foul mood right now. How should I put it... hmm, I think you’re more sensible than he is right now, so I hope you’ll consider us mere mortals and try not to provoke Tang Haofei to avoid any unmanageable consequences.”

”Cough cough cough...”

Fran’s paternal-like advice made Wen Yu cough. He looked at Fran in amazement and couldn’t help but ask: ”Sensible?”

Seeing Wen Yu’s startled expression, Fran nodded helplessly: ”Yes, sensible... You’ve changed a lot, and so has he. Now, it’s like your personalities have reversed. Well, no need to talk about this. Since you’re thinking about contacting him, we’ll inform Tang Haofei of your location when we return. You prepare yourself.”

Having finished speaking, Fran prepared to leave, and Wen Yu had no intention of inviting Fran for a meal, so he nodded to Mountain Kui to escort Fran away.

After Fran left, Wen Yu recalled everything Fran just said, gently shook his head, and then took out his recently acquired items from the space ring.

Compared to the matter of Tang Two’s visit, Wen Yu was more concerned about his own strength.
