Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Looking at the watch lying by his feet, Cyclops was momentarily stunned.

Just now, Cyclops was purely embarrassed and angry, without any other thoughts, let alone the complex idea of ”wanting something” that Bai mentioned.

However, Bai’s ”generosity” did indeed dissipate quite a bit of Cyclops’s anger—the Dimensional Maze was resolved by Bai, foretelling that the true location of the Origin Extraction Device would have another bigger and more complex Dimensional Maze. The strategic value of this watch is self-evident.

Bai was heading to the Demon Realm and didn’t need this item, but Wen Yu, or rather Earth, did need it. This is generally where the convenience of resource exchange lies.

Moreover, Bai’s decisiveness just now indeed reminded Cyclops. At this moment, Cyclops’s eyes were spinning as if scheming something weird, until Bai said earnestly: ”Let me remind you, the fact that you can talk to me as an equal now is entirely out of respect for your master. I don’t want to be at odds with Wen Yu, but I’m not afraid of him either. So, it’s best to know your limits.”

Bai’s reminder, or rather warning, was like a cold bucket of water poured on Cyclops’s head, immediately waking him up from the dream of getting a windfall.

Respect should be maintained towards the powerful; this is not only respecting others but also respecting oneself. More importantly, it means respecting power!

Always holding awe for power is the only way not to die a senseless death—this is the teaching Wen Yu always gave to his soul pet...

Now, the comparison of power is clear at a glance.

And Wen Yu’s attitude towards Earth’s native powerful experts has always been not to provoke them—Wen Yu was even too lazy to deal with them...

From this detail, Cyclops could also guess Wen Yu’s thoughts: everyone lives their own life, which is fine...

Once Cyclops angered Bai, making an enemy for Wen Yu out of nowhere, just the thought of that scene made Cyclops’s skin tingle—Wen Yu would definitely skin him alive for disciplinary action at first, and then put all effort to solve the Bai issue.

So...

Looking at Bai, who was expressionless in front of the Boundary Cracking Device, Cyclops remained silent for a moment, then picked up the watch from the ground in one bite and turned to drill into the dimensional teleportation tunnel.

This ”cooperation” ended hastily due to mutual understanding, or perhaps some unspoken fear.

...

Watching Cyclops dive into the dimensional teleportation tunnel, Bai let out a long breath then gently covered his abdomen, his face gradually turning unpleasant.

”Are you alright?”

Beside him, Ye Nan, obviously aware of some of Bai’s unspoken secrets, asked in an inquisitive tone while looking at Bai, who appeared very uncomfortable.

Bai just shook his head slightly. After a while, he slowly replied, ”Just indigestion, a little rest will do.”

After saying that, Bai sat down on the spot, shut his eyes tight, and formed a seal with his hands, as if he were employing some strange cultivation technique.

Ye Nan was not surprised by this and did not bother the Bai who was digesting ”food” hastily but instead strolled over to the Boundary Cracking Device, touching it curiously and greedily.

Until nearly ten minutes later, rustling sounds came from behind, and then a voice reached his ears: ”I’m alright now, are you ready?”

The footsteps grew closer until they arrived next to Ye Nan. Ye Nan shrugged lightly: ”What do I have to prepare for? Just going along with you.”

”But...”

At this, Ye Nan turned his head back, staring intently into Bai’s eyes, and spoke one word at a time.

”You want me to go to the Demon Realm with you, no problem! You want me to ruin Zhang Shaojie, sure, also no problem! Even if you want me to order the demise of Akad, that’s no problem either! But I hope everything you talk about can be realized, otherwise!”

”Otherwise? What will happen?”

Bai sneered without caring about Ye Nan’s increasingly displeased face, shaking his head with apparent disdain: ”I can’t guarantee you anything. Since you want to join this game, you naturally have to bear the risks involved.”

Then, Bai gently patted Ye Nan’s shoulder: ”But rest assured, since I brought you in, it proves we’re on the same team now. I can’t do without you, so naturally, I won’t harm you. Overall, dangers are bound to be there, the promises made may not be kept perfectly, but the gains will certainly be proportional to the risks and efforts.”

Upon hearing Bai’s answer-not-an-answer, Ye Nan took a few deep breaths, not entangled in the matter any longer.

”I only have five contract slots now, not sure if it’s enough.”

”Five contract slots are definitely not enough.”

Bai insisted on this, then squinted and said: ”But it’s not an issue for the moment. When the time comes, Akad can naturally be sacrificed at any time, six contract slots… hmm, plan carefully, it’s sufficient for the initial stage.”

”But speaking of which, once the plan succeeds, brother, that will be your meteoric rise, just don’t forget your brother here when the time comes.”

Ye Nan was silent for a moment, then shook his head lightly: ”Naturally won’t…”

Hearing Ye Nan’s ”promise,” Bai’s expression remained unchanged, still carrying a semblance of a sneer, giving no clue to his thoughts, while Ye Nan—truth be told, Ye Nan was indeed much simpler than Bai, at this moment, besides some reluctance—reluctance towards Akad and even Zhang Shaojie, there was some uncertainty, and even a small amount of wariness and yearning for the future...
