Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”He only asked me to follow him, and it seems he’s being very cautious, as if he’s indeed hiding some information.”

When Cyclops launched the attack on the East African Rift Valley, the real-time intel had already reached Wen Yu’s hands.

”Follow him and take a look, be careful on your own, and report to me immediately if there’s any problem. But unless you encounter danger or Bai is about to do something threatening to us, you are not allowed to interfere in any other matters.”

To Wen Yu, what Bai does isn’t important, as long as his actions don’t threaten Wen Yu, why would Wen Yu care about what he does?

Having Cyclops follow Bai was merely adding an extra layer of vigilance and supervision.

”Got it, Brother Wen Yu.”

After Cyclops finished speaking, Wen Yu hung up the communication. He saw the situation at the Demon Tribe’s Central Operations Command Center in the Battle Zone Africa was nearing its end. What was left was merely clearing up the bodies and gathering creation energy—these trivial tasks could be handled by the Cloud Puppet itself. Wen Yu then disconnected the shared view with the Cloud Puppet and shifted his gaze to the first battlefield where his main body was located.

The battle at the first battlefield was also reaching its conclusion—there weren’t many Demon Fiends who died on the spot, but once they are in full retreat, the casualties will be significant...

Under Wen Yu’s deliberate control, an escape route was opened for the Demon Tribe in all directions. As a large number of Demon Fiends fled, the massive army that was originally gathered together was unknowingly split into dozens or even hundreds of unrelated retreating groups...

It’s imaginable that if it had been at the beginning, these Demon Tribes would have fought tooth and nail, and even if Wen Yu intervened, the mountain puppet battalion would have suffered substantial damage. But now, with the army dispersed, there’s no turning back.

After the last of the Demon Fiends that couldn’t escape in time was completely annihilated by the mountain puppet battalion, Shangu immediately reorganized the troops to pursue the largest retreating groups. Akad, however, didn’t join in the excitement with Shangu; instead, he walked over to Wen Yu’s side, looking at Wen Yu who was sitting on the ground with his eyes half-closed, lost in thought. After hesitating for a long time, he finally spoke.

”Well, Brother Wen Yu, does this mission count as complete?”

Wen Yu looked up at Akad’s slightly nervous face, then nodded expressionlessly.

”Yes, I will definitely fulfill the promise I made to you, but not now.”

”Now, my soul pet has important matters, I really can’t spare the energy, you still need to wait a little longer.”

Akad nodded silently, and seeing Akad’s anxious look, Wen Yu chuckled softly: ”If you have nothing else to do, you can find something to do yourself, like helping me take that guy back to my lair.”

Wen Yu pointed to the pitch-dark barrier beside him, and after contemplating for a moment, considering that Ye Nan hadn’t given him any orders, Akad ultimately decided to stay and blend in with Wen Yu for the time being.

This is probably the mentality of a debt collector...

...

Reopening the pitch-dark barrier, Wen Yu, together with Zero and Akad, headed towards the Soul Experiment Lab.

Along the way, Akad and Zero walked side by side, one a captive, the other an escort, but both had anxious hearts, feeling somewhat distracted, and Wen Yu was even more so.

At this moment, Wen Yu was still operating the vision share, checking the situation in several other battlefronts.

In Wen Yu’s plan, the campaign on the African Continent was divided into several parts.

The first part, which is the first battlefield, naturally was this location where he himself was present.

Led by Wen Yu himself, with Akad and Shangu as support, the massive mountain puppet battalion aimed to eliminate the second most powerful expert in the Battle Zone Africa—Siegle.

The second battlefield, led by Faceless, Luo Luo, and Victor, with the Cloud Puppet battalion as support, aimed to solve Koray, the leader of the Battle Zone Africa.

As long as these two parts were achieved, the Demon Tribe in Battle Zone Africa would inevitably fall into a state of chaos with no head.

The third part was led by Cyclops and Star, with Cyclops’s mutant beast army as support in the East African Rift Valley battlefield. This also included Bai, a deeply unfathomable ally—the main aim of this part was to solve the problem of the Origin Extraction Device.

But it’s thought that if the first and second battlefields went smoothly, the Demon Tribe would not place the Origin Extraction Device again in the East African Rift Valley. Additionally, Wen Yu did not need the potentially existing Boundary Cracking Device, so he wasn’t too concerned about this area—strictly speaking, the one overseeing this region was not Cyclops or Star, but Bai, the unpredictable collaborator.

Besides the three main parts mentioned above, the remaining smaller armies, such as the Wood Puppet Army and Water Puppet Army, were scattered all over the African continent. Following the planned route, they conquered and destroyed small and medium-sized Demon Tribe strongholds that were dispensable.

Over this time, the creation energy Wen Yu collected was partly used on Faceless, and another part was given to Shangu and the Cloud Puppet. The Wood Puppet and Water Puppet battalions didn’t receive much creation energy and didn’t develop on a large scale—after all, the existence of the Wood Kui and Water Kui was different from Shangu and the Cloud Puppet, and the former had significant limitations in terms of material resources and surface combat capability compared to the latter.

After quickly glancing over the fragmented battlefields handled by the Wood Puppet and Water Puppet, Wen Yu’s gaze shifted to the last soul abiogenetic creation he had sent out, currently the most mysterious and powerful single-combat soul abiogenetic creation he had.

”Corpse puppet?”

”Here, Master...”

”Why can’t I perceive your souln fluctuation?”

”A new trick I’ve mastered, how does the master like it?”

As soon as the Corpse puppet finished speaking, Wen Yu instantly felt the souln fluctuation from the Corpse puppet reenter his perception range.

”A new trick, huh...”

Murmuring to himself deep down, Wen Yu mobilized his soul power to instantly observe the situation around the Corpse puppet.

In the view from the Corpse puppet, it was currently in a somewhat dim room, where a corpse of an Ancient Demon about three meters in height lay supine on the floor, a dinner-plate-sized hollow in its chest from which blood trickled continuously.

In the next second, a pale, thick arm appeared in the vision, clutching a slightly pulsing heart. The heart grew closer to the vision until the slimy, putrid-like texture reminiscent of pork heart assaulted Wen Yu’s taste buds.

Wen Yu frowned: ”I’m still in your body...”

”Oh, oh, oh, I almost forgot, Master might not be accustomed to the taste of raw meat.”

The Corpse puppet put down the Ancient Demon Heart, then snapped its fingers.

A small, meaty pellet separated from the Corpse puppet’s fingertips and was then placed on a table beside it. Sensing the newly formed soul connection, Wen Yu immediately understood the Corpse puppet’s intention.
