Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Long time no see, my friend!”

The booming voice, filled with passionate intonation, didn’t contain much power, which might indicate that Tang Haofei’s visit this time wasn’t malicious.

The familiar figure at the hatch leaped down, his towering stature like a mountain becoming the focal point of everyone’s attention.

Watching Tang Haofei stride toward him, Wen Yu remained silent for a while before shaking his head with a smile: ”Is it ’long time no see,’ or is it our first meeting...”

”Uh.”

Tang Haofei stopped in his tracks, as if pondering this question. After a moment, he grinned again, showing shark-like white teeth: ”Your way of putting it has some logic, so I’ll put it another way.”

”First meeting, I’m Tang Haofei.”

”But those are trivial matters.”

Tang Haofei casually waved his hand and walked up to Wen Yu, warmly putting an arm around his shoulder.

In an instant, Wen Yu felt immense strength surge from his shoulder, causing his shoulder blade to creak, but the power quickly vanished. Then, Tang Haofei spoke warmly, ”I want to travel in Africa, and I’ll need the host’s help.”

Wen Yu remained silent, quickly realizing Tang Haofei’s purpose for coming.

This was a probe.

...

Gently moving his shoulder, Tang Haofei sensibly released his right hand from Wen Yu’s shoulder. Seeing Tang Haofei smiling next to him, Wen Yu lightly nodded.

”As it stands, Africa is indeed my territory, and you are naturally welcome.”

Although there was a brief test, Tang Haofei didn’t show visible hostility. His words and actions gave a sense of intimacy, and Wen Yu couldn’t help but follow the lead Tang Haofei offered - after sensing Tang Haofei’s power level, Wen Yu realized he had no effective way to deal with this guy.

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s response, Tang Haofei’s smile grew wider, and he clapped his hands gently. Footsteps quickly followed from the cabin, and a large group of chirping women emerged, clinging closely to Tang Haofei.

In an instant, Wen Yu felt a fragrant breeze rush over him. Watching Tang Haofei having such a good time with women on both arms, Wen Yu turned and signaled to Tang Haofei to follow as he led the group towards the Soul Experiment Lab.

...

Arranging for Tang Haofei to enter the Soul Experiment Lab was a decision Wen Yu had already made. Although the strength of the Mountain Kui was far inferior to Tang Haofei, as long as they were within the Mountain Kui, there was a slight home-field advantage in the event of an unexpected situation.

Indeed, while Tang Haofei hadn’t displayed hostility, Wen Yu remained on guard against him. According to the information Lin Haifeng provided, Tang Haofei, number two, was arrogantly short-tempered and unpredictable. In such a situation, Wen Yu had to consider how to handle this monster if a fight broke out.

As they walked down the road to the Soul Experiment Lab, there was continuous banter behind him. But Wen Yu could sense a concealed gaze scanning his body like radar, observing every muscle twitch and every bit of physique. In just a few scans, Tang Haofei had observed everything clearly.

This was a probe, yet the one at an advantage wasn’t Tang Haofei...

Wen Yu’s skill system was known to Tang Haofei; Wen Yu’s greatest strength lay in his soul. Pure perceptive ability could only detect his physical attributes. He couldn’t sense Wen Yu’s greatest strength!

But Wen Yu was different.

Under the lens of soul perception, Tang Haofei’s soul body shone like a sun, with mere physical attribute improvements boosting the increase in soul strength at that moment. Tang Haofei’s soul strength far surpassed Wen Yu’s own!

In other words, even if Wen Yu activated the Soul Battlefield and augmented it with soul pet skills, using dozens of skills against a skill-less Tang Haofei, the outcome would still be uncertain!

Six glowing spheres orbited around the soul body, with five emitting a familiar aura to Wen Yu.

Power of Heaven and Earth (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability).

True God Dominant Body (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability).

True Words Technique (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability).

Challenger’s Trial (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability).

And Life and Death Battle Execution (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive ability).

In addition, the sixth skill orb on Tang Haofei also emitted a dazzling light no less impressive than the other five, and the slight fluctuation from the skill orb had some similarity to Challenger’s Trial - it was undoubtedly an Esoteric Level resurrection skill.

And this new skill might also be the fundamental reason why Tang Haofei has grown stronger at such a rapid pace.

The gaze from behind was uninhibited, while Wen Yu’s soul perception remained silent. Between Sequence Number 1 and Sequence Number 2, they had gathered a general understanding of each other.

Soon after, footsteps behind him paused...

”I’m really stupid.”

With a laugh and a curse, Tang Haofei pushed away the women entwined around him, quickly stepping up to Wen Yu, casually saying, ”By the way, Lin Haifeng should have told you the location of the Origin Extraction Device, right?”

”Australia.”

Wen Yu succinctly replied.

”There are some freshest reports now, unusual movements have already appeared in the Demon Group and Demon Realm’s Gate of Australia. According to military estimates, the time of action should be in these few days. By the way, I still remember your passionate speech during the first meeting of the Ultimate Force Team. How about we two lead the charge at that time... is this promise still good?”
