Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

First, there’s the True Dragon Golden Body (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive Skill), undoubtedly meant for Star, but learning it requires freeing up a skill slot.

Wen Yu couldn’t help but look at Star’s six existing skills.

The Mountain Observing Technique can’t be discarded; it’s a Limit Breakthrough Level ability, and its effect doesn’t conflict with the True Dragon Golden Body. In fact, both skills can be stacked and complement each other. Moreover, Star’s combat style leans towards defensive counterattacks, meaning the Demon Dragon Armor (S-Class, Passive Ability) and Ancient Dragon’s Wrath (SSS-Class, Passive Ability) shouldn’t be discarded. Dragon Flame Amplification provides attack capabilities and is Star’s only long-range area attack skill, while both Dragon Blood Amplification (SSS-Class, Active Ability) and Dragon’s Aura Field (S-Class, Active Skill) are strong skills. Observing all this, Wen Yu suddenly realized there wasn’t a single skill of Star’s that was dispensable...

After pondering for a while, Wen Yu chuckled bitterly and decided to put the True Dragon Golden Body (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Passive Skill) back into the space ring, planning to give it to Star after reaching Level 7. However, the skill upgrade scroll could be put to use right now.

Wen Yu’s soul pets have several SS-Class skills; aside from Luo Luo and Faceless, the remaining three soul pets all have SS-Class skills awaiting upgrades. After some thought, Wen Yu decided to place this item on Star.

Dragon’s Aura Field (S-Class, Active Skill): Upon activation, a mysterious force field covers the surrounding area, greatly weakening all creatures entering this range!

Star’s original Dragon’s Aura Field was notably powerful, serving as a large-scale negative status ability. When combined with Dragon Blood Amplification, it could weaken over eighty percent of the strength of life forms within the Aura’s range (with effectiveness varying based on the opponent’s strength, stronger adversaries experiencing less effect). At Star’s current strength, once the Dragon’s Aura Field is activated, it could firmly immobilize an average Peak Level 6 life form, rendering them powerless.

Wherever the Giant Dragon treads, the weak must retreat!

Imagining the giant dragon soaring across the skies, and the weak creatures below cowering under its aura like lambs awaiting slaughter, well, that picture doesn’t seem too bad to think about.

So, it’s you...

...

Bringing back Star, who was dazing in a mountain range, through the Soul Realm space, Wen Yu immediately began reworking Star’s skills.

With the scroll torn open and the skills selected, all was completed in a matter of minutes. After Dragon’s Aura Field was successfully upgraded, the new skill description didn’t differ much from the original Dragon’s Aura Field.

Dragon’s Aura Field (SSS-Class, Active Skill): Upon activation, a mysterious force field covers the surrounding area, greatly weakening all creatures entering this range! Additionally, weaker creatures influenced by Dragon’s Aura Field might develop a reverent emotion towards the host, autonomously submitting to the host.

Note: The lower the intelligence and strength of those affected, the higher the likelihood of compulsory reverence taking effect.

Glancing at the newly presented skill attributes, Wen Yu was momentarily stunned, then broke into a wry smile.

This new ability is quite a method for establishing power. If this skill were given to Cyclops, his subordinates would likely multiply several times over. However, Star differs from Cyclops; while Cyclops enjoys chaos, Star prefers tranquility. Since following Wen Yu, Star hasn’t shown any inclination towards amassing subordinates, and he might never do so in the future, somewhat wasting the ”Weak Submit” skill effect.

Nevertheless, it’s a pleasant surprise, and even if wasted, neither Star nor Wen Yu mind.

”Let’s test out the skill effects.”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s command, Star spread his wings within the mountain’s belly, quickly releasing the Dragon’s Aura Field. Feeling the faint pressure emanating from Star, Wen Yu squinted as he assessed the extent of his physical weakening.

Star’s current physical attributes stood at 58,214 points, and Wen Yu couldn’t estimate the divine beast species’ talent but was confident it lagged significantly behind his own. In terms of overall strength, Star’s physical attributes were about a tenth of Wen Yu’s. At present, under the pressure of Dragon’s Aura Field, Wen Yu felt as though a mountain pressed upon him—a reduction of barely one-twentieth in total.

Not bad... an SSS-Class skill, coupled with such a huge gap in physical attributes, Wen Yu couldn’t ask for much more...

”How do you feel?”

Upon Wen Yu’s inquiry, Star carefully experienced the newly upgraded skill. After a moment, he nodded and said, ”Not bad, the skill range and power have increased quite a bit, by about double or so.”

”That’s good then.”

Wen Yu was also quite satisfied. Achieving this level with a single skill upgrade scroll was already a decent gain.

Star then fiddled for a while within the Mountain Kui before transforming into his Mini Form and flying out of the mountain’s belly, seemingly ready to continue his life of ”staring at mountains.” Seeing this, Wen Yu couldn’t help but feel a strange emotion.

Allowing soul pets out for a time had its pros and cons. The downside was a slight reduction in Wen Yu’s intimacy with his own soul pets, as Cyclops and Star busily marched to their own drummer; each soul pet had its desires. Yet, the benefits outweighed; since coming back, Wen Yu only felt his soul pets had grown. Cyclops had an air of authority among his subordinates, markedly less mischievous than before, and while Star remained daft, he’d acquired a greater longing for power.

This must be the complex feeling of watching one’s children grow up.

Wen Yu lightly shook his head, discarding his emotional musings before turning towards his lab bench, ready to further explore the unknown potentials of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

...

Returning to Yanjing, Fran brought back his mission results—black technology from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, a profession-change scroll, and most importantly, Wen Yu’s stance...

Under these circumstances, Lin Haifeng couldn’t let Qin Min struggle any longer, so he informed Qin Min to relay to Tang Haofei that Wen Yu’s location in Africa was clear.

Three days later, the latest technological flying craft named Guardian God departed from Eternal Sky City, heading towards the African Continent.

And as the craft took off, Wen Yu was informed by Lin Haifeng of Tang Haofei’s impending visit.

...

When the craft landed at the foot of the Mountain Kui, Wen Yu was already waiting outside the Soul Experiment Lab, anticipating Tang Haofei’s visit.

As the mechanical roar grew louder, Wen Yu’s eyes followed the craft landing not far in the distance; the gusts raised by the wind whipped Wen Yu’s Heaven-covering Robe fiercely. As the cabin door opened, a formidable aura shot to the sky, detecting the terrifying life presence inside the craft, comparable to Heavenly Dao, causing Wen Yu to wrinkle his brows involuntarily.

He’d died several times again...

Just as the thought of ”suicide” rose, a thunderous voice rang in his ears: ”Long time no see, my friend!”
