Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The spiritual connection belonging to the Soul Puppet was abruptly severed, and the last scene in vision was a graceful figure stumbling out from mid-air, exuding a green glow—a ”female” Treasure Land Protector. However, to humans, these Protectors are alien lifeforms. Maybe other planets have different gender distinctions or even life forms than Earth. Who knows...

”The battle has begun... I’m betting on Tang Haofei to win!”

Wen Yu jokingly said to Old Man Fran beside him, then reactivated the Aura Concealment effect of the Heaven-covering Robe, ensuring that even the Treasure Land Protectors couldn’t detect any trace of him.

These Treasure Land Protectors can only exist within the treasure land. Perhaps some of them, with higher authority, can extend their Perception Ability beyond the treasure land. However, what kind of existence is Wen Yu’s Heaven-covering Robe?

It is a super-powerful tool specifically crafted to deceive the Dominator!

In the concealed state, they can’t even perceive Wen Yu’s existence, let alone forcibly drag Wen Yu into the treasure land.

This is Wen Yu’s tactical response developed specifically against the rogue-like Treasure Land Protectors. After all, there’s no guarantee that the Demon Tribe won’t employ undercover agents to ensure the successful arrival of the Origin Extraction Device.

However, this response also has its downsides, as it means Wen Yu can’t appear on the frontline battlefield.

Yet, while Wen Yu can’t, Faceless can. He is a mutant beast, unable to enter the treasure land, and when paired with Wen Yu’s blood, he becomes the second Wen Yu, currently the most formidable force on the human side!

Just like in a card game, both sides know each other’s cards, and the contest boils down to who has the bigger hand. Right now, Wen Yu is hidden outside the battlefield, only manipulating soul pets to fight. In other words, Wen Yu, and even the major cards derived from him, like Faceless, Cyclops, and Star, can’t be dealt with by the Demon Tribe!

Seeing Wen Yu’s eager demeanor, Fran just shook his head with a smile, then turned his attention back to the various documents in front of him.

The Treasure Land Protector is the trouble Tang Haofei and Wen Yu need to deal with. Fran has other tasks—like the real Dimensional Maze or the Demon Tribe’s army and powerful experts, for instance.

...

Casually sitting beside Fran and flipping through the files that Fran had reviewed, Wen Yu soon furrowed his brows.

”Why does it seem... we haven’t captured it yet?”

The intelligence on the current situation is full of negative news. It’s either some corps being obstructed or an elite squad being intercepted by powerful enemy units. So far, apart from four super elite teams reaching the base of Mount Kosciuszko, no others have managed to break through the Demon Tribe’s outer defense line!

Fran connected another communication device and, after hanging up, sighed softly: ”Three teams, only three teams have entered the Mount Kosciuszko area now. The intel just came back that Qin Tian’s elite squad of four encountered Limit Breakthrough Level Demon Fiends at the base and is currently in fierce combat.”

Bad news...

As Sequence Number 4, Qin Tian’s exact strength is temporarily aside, but he is undoubtedly an expert. These people are supposed to be the main force to break through the Dimensional Maze—letting the militarily weak but large-scale ordinary corps and even elite corps forcefully attack the spatially confined Dimensional Maze is an unbearable loss even for Yanjing.

However, from the current situation, they haven’t even reached the edge of the Dimensional Maze.

Wen Yu shifted positions and picked up the information on the table for a more detailed review, while Old Man Fran quickly articulated the military’s current challenges to Wen Yu.

”Early this morning, the Sea King Tribe, leading sea beasts and several divine beast types leading flying mutant beasts, had already entered Australian territory. An hour later, the army set out. Not just us, but also the American side, Russian side, India, and other large conglomerates have sent reinforcements. At 8 AM Australian time, mutant beasts and regular forces completely surrounded Mount Kosciuszko. The situation initially looked promising, but just now, after you and Tang Haofei were pulled into the treasure land, the Demon Realm’s Gate opened fully, and a large number of Peak Level 6 and Limit Breakthrough Level Demon Fiends surged from inside the mountain. The strong Demon Fiends coming out from the mountains dispersed the encirclement, while the Demon Fiends emerging from the Demon Realm’s Gate attacked our defenses. The outside situation is chaotic, but overall nothing too troublesome.”

The military was well-prepared for such situations.

”Estimated in an hour, our people will control 82 nearby Demon Realm’s Gates, cutting off reinforcements from the Demon Realm and readjusting the encirclement. The trouble mainly lies within Mount Kosciuszko. Not discussing the Dimensional Maze for now, but during our initial exploration, there was no Demon Realm’s Gate inside Mount Kosciuszko. However, the Demon Tribe emerging from within is not only powerful but also sizeable. I’m afraid, before we even reach the Dimensional Barrier, the main strike teams will suffer significant losses.”

”And time is also limited. In less than an hour, that thing in the sky might be fully activated. Even within the Dimensional Maze and after breaking through it, there might still be all sorts of troublesome problems.”

”These bits and pieces combined will consume more time than planned. You know, we have been at a disadvantage in this war from the beginning—the root of the disadvantage lies in the issue of time.”

After the Origin Extraction Device appears, it takes some time for it to drive into Earth’s nucleus and start extracting Origin Energy—that timeframe is the actual key to determining victory or defeat and the Earth’s only chance to permanently remove the Origin Extraction Device.

This time is constant. If during this period the Origin Extraction Device is destroyed, then everything is fine. However, if it isn’t and the device begins operations, with Origin Energy depleting and the Level Lock starting to loosen, once the Level Lock breaks, the battle will collapse immediately!

Fran looked up at Wen Yu beside him at this point.

”No choice, send your soul pets over. I need some vanguards to break through the defense circle at the base of Mount Kosciuszko.”

Wen Yu nodded immediately: ”I’ll send over Soul Pet No. 2, Soul Pet No. 3, and Soul Pet No. 6. The rest is up to you.”

Hearing Wen Yu’s agreement, Fran exhaled heavily, and just then, the communicator on the table buzzed.

Fran answered the communication. After a short conversation, his face turned unnaturally pale.

Upon hanging up, Old Man Fran said to Wen Yu, looking distressed: ”Walter’s team has entered Mount Kosciuszko.”

”Well done...”

”But...”
