Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chen Wen saw that Zhaxi Cizhu wasn’t talking, so he didn’t say much either.

He left those captured Hunting Owl members to Zhaxi Cizhu, then headed out of the mine with Vikram.

The two of them planned to go deeper in.

But just before they left, Zhaxi Cizhu called out to Chen Wen and showed him a few photos.

”These are the Hunting Owl members who are still at large. They’re all core members. If you run into them, be extremely careful!”

Zhaxi Cizhu reminded him.

Chen Wen finished looking and nodded slightly.

”Also...”

Zhaxi Cizhu hesitated for a moment, then said, ”About what happened before, we really didn’t see it coming. Sorry about that.”

Chen Wen waved his hand. ”It’s fine. No one could have predicted there’d be an inside mole.”

”But from now on, you need to be careful. If the Barbarians can move around, it’ll definitely be through someone on the inside.”

Hearing this, Zhaxi Cizhu nodded solemnly. ”Don’t worry. This time, he’s not getting away.”

Chen Wen gave a small nod, unsure whether he was agreeing with Zhaxi Cizhu or not.

But Zhaxi Cizhu handed back the homemade gun Chen Wen had given him earlier.

Chen Wen froze for a second.

Zhaxi Cizhu said, ”Keep it for self‑defense. Return it to us after this is over.”

Chen Wen nodded.

...

A few kilometers out from the camp, Chen Wen met up with Vikram.

Chen Wen directly handed the shotgun to Vikram. ”Can you use it?”

Vikram picked up the shotgun skillfully and looked it over carefully. ”I haven’t used this type before, but it’s fine. I can make do.”

”Then it’s yours.”

Chen Wen said.

He had no use for this thing himself.

Vikram chuckled and didn’t refuse, taking the shotgun.

After all, with this in his hands, his combat power would spike.

But Chen Wen gave him a warning: ”Use it yourself, and make sure you don’t hurt any animals or other contestants. As for Hunting Owl, do as you please.”

Vikram nodded seriously.

He understood what was more important.

”So what now?”

Vikram looked toward the depths of the Qiangtang Plateau’s core area.

There, there were mountains, rivers, beautiful scenery, and animals—but also growing evil.

”We keep going in!”

Chen Wen said firmly.

As long as that Barbarian was around, he would never be able to relax.

And right now that guy was still poaching precious black‑necked cranes and even more precious Golden Yaks!

No matter what, he couldn’t let this man carry off Qiangtang’s treasures!

Hearing this, Vikram took a deep breath.

He felt that this Barbarian was very important—he might be able to get more information he wanted from him!

His hatred for Hunting Owl ran deeper than Chen Wen’s.

But just as Chen Wen was about to head on, Vikram said, ”We should split up. Lend me your little horse for a while. I’ll return it to you after this is over.”

Hearing that, Chen Wen tilted his head to look at Vikram. The guy noticed Chen Wen’s gaze and gave a slight smile.

He said, ”I’m used to operating alone. And I’ve noticed you seem to have a lot of methods you’re not convenient using in front of me, right?”

As he spoke, Vikram pictured in his mind the scene of that group of miners fleeing in panic.

Frankly, if Chen Wen only had a shotgun, there’s no way he could have scared them off.

He definitely had other means!

Vikram didn’t ask—this was absolutely Chen Wen’s core secret!

He looked at Chen Wen and said, ”So splitting up is better for both of us.”

Chen Wen let out a short laugh and nodded.

He knew it was unrealistic to hide his special ability from everyone.

A lot of people probably already had their suspicions.

Maybe once the Eight Extremes Challenge was over, he’d have to find a way to fade out of human sight.

By then, maybe his Druid level would reach the top?

Chen Wen stopped dwelling on that and instead said, ”Alright. Since you put it that way, we’ll each go our own way. If you’re in danger, call for me. If I can hear it, I’ll definitely help. Just focus on staying safe.”

Vikram nodded. He slung the homemade gun over his back and said, ”Relax, I’ll be careful. You too. About Hunting Owl’s headquarters—I actually already have a few possible locations in mind. If there’s a chance, we might work together in the future and rip this poaching outfit out by the roots!”

”So for now, don’t go all‑out. In the words of Hua Country, save your useful self and only expend it when it matters most.”

Listening to Vikram, Chen Wen couldn’t help but laugh. ”Got it.”

The two didn’t say much more.

Vikram rode off on the River Curve Horse that Chen Wen had temporarily lent him, disappearing into the distance.

Chen Wen packed up his supplies, then turned to go look for Li Ma.

...

After they split up, Chen Wen contacted the Association.

Hearing that Chen Wen wanted to keep tracking things down, Qu Yong tried to talk him out of it.

He didn’t really want Chen Wen to keep going head‑to‑head with a group like Hunting Owl.

But Chen Wen knew full well—there was no way to reconcile things between him and Hunting Owl!

Whether it was them stirring up trouble and putting a bounty on his head, or their fundamental poaching nature, he just couldn’t stomach it!

Since Vikram said he knew Hunting Owl’s headquarters, if they moved to wipe out Hunting Owl in the future, Chen Wen definitely wouldn’t be absent!

So after fobbing Qu Yong off for a bit—

Chen Wen planned to continue surviving while dragging every last Hunting Owl member out into the open.

But before he hung up, Qu Yong shared a piece of news from the Association with Chen Wen.

Another team—the one led by Vice‑Chairman Zhao—had been completely wiped out in the Sea Extreme Challenge, and all five of them were injured to varying degrees.

Fortunately, no one died.

By comparison, the United States’ second team lost three people in the Sea Extreme Challenge—the casualties were extremely heavy!

After hearing this news, Chen Wen was a bit surprised.

The Sea Extreme Challenge...

He only had a rough understanding of the specifics of the Sea Extreme Challenge, but he knew how dangerous it was.

It was, after all, widely recognized as the hardest of the Eight Extremes Challenges.

But for the United States’ second team to lose three people—that was shocking.

Their second team was almost entirely made up of veteran contestants, a squad formed specifically to take on the Sea Extreme Challenge.

”Alright, I get it. When I’m back at the Association, I’ll pay more attention to the other challenges.”

Chen Wen said, then hung up.

Over the next two days, Chen Wen led the animals deeper and deeper.

He and Li Ma moved in the open, while the Golden Eagle and Tibetan Horse Bear stayed in the shadows, with a whole herd of horses trailing behind.

Traveling in this way—

On the third day—

Chen Wen walked out of the mountains and once again reached the plains.

The unobstructed plains opened up his mood, but also increased the risk of being spotted by Hunting Owl.

At the same time, the open plains also expanded Chen Wen’s own field of view.

All in all, there were pros and cons.

Chen Wen thought it over, and in the morning sent the Golden Eagle away from his position, directing it to head over to Xiong Ma’s side so they could spread out and shrink their profile.

After all, Hunting Owl had first tracked him by the density of the horse herd.

The Golden Eagle understood and quickly flew off.

Otherwise, once the herd was spotted, with all that gear on their backs, it would be easy for Hunting Owl to identify them.

Then they’d be in an extremely dangerous situation!
