Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 485: Chapter 34: Contact

After saying the location, Chen Wen ended the call.

The only gain from this call was understanding the whole story.

But it didn’t help with the search and rescue.

Chen Wen sighed, planning to return to the lakeside to continue pondering the plan.

At this time, he suddenly remembered the conversation he overheard earlier.

The poacher named Liu Hong seemed to want to take his daughter back to the so-called main camp in the afternoon, which Chen Wen guessed should be the cave.

Does Liu Hong’s daughter know anything?

Chen Wen was pondering whether to start with his daughter to see if he could find a flaw.

Or be more direct and take control of Liu Hong.

Then ambush in the mountains and forests, launching an attack on these poachers.

After thinking it over, Chen Wen decided to follow the poacher named Liu Hong and decide what to do after seeing the situation.

...

Afternoon.

Poacher’s camp.

Liu Hong slowly walked to his daughter Liu Ting and signaled her to get up.

Liu Ting’s face was pale, and she ignored her father.

After a moment of silence, Liu Hong reached out his hand: ”Come with me.”

Liu Ting instinctively leaned toward her friend, showing a stance of resistance.

Liu Hong took a deep breath: ”Quickly! Leave now, it’s good for you and for them too.”

Hearing this, Liu Ting and her friend exchanged a glance.

”Okay.”

Saying that, Liu Ting stood up and walked towards her familiar yet unfamiliar father.

Liu Hong carried a machete and turned to lead the way, heading silently to the cave where Chen Wen had been, which was their main camp.

In the sky, the Crested Serpent Eagle circling above grabbed Chen Wen and began to glide to a lower altitude.

The father and daughter said nothing along the way.

It took them about three hours to return to the vicinity of the cave.

Liu Hong let Liu Ting go inside the cave and instructed: ”Don’t walk around, don’t go out, just stay here, you know where the food and drink are.”

”After things are over, I will come back for you. Remember, don’t mention what happened here to anyone!”

Liu Ting heard this and didn’t speak.

She just stiffened her neck, refusing to look at her father.

This made Liu Hong feel stifled.

He hesitated for a long time and said: ”I have my difficulties too...”

Hearing this, Liu Ting finally spoke: ”What are your difficulties? Is it luxury cars? Or villas?”

Her voice was hoarse but carried an undeniable determination: ”Dad, you are committing a crime! You are pushing yourself into an abyss!”

The word ”crime” stung Liu Hong.

He suddenly became agitated: ”I’m doing it all for you! I...”

”Were we so poor before?”

Liu Ting interrupted Liu Hong’s defense: ”Before, you and mom took time to go into the mountains to pick mushrooms and dig herbs, earning at least a hundred thousand every year. My brother and I used to be with you too, were we ever starving or without a house to live?”

”Later, the scenic area was established. You and Uncle came to work as guides in the scenic area and earned more money. We built a new house and bought a car. What are we lacking?”

”Isn’t it nice for a family to be harmonious and happy?”

Listening to his daughter’s questioning, Liu Hong couldn’t speak for a long time.

He angrily retorted: ”I can’t make you understand! Just stay put!”

Saying this, Liu Hong walked away quickly, not even glancing back.

Watching her father’s figure quickly disappear, Liu Ting’s eyes gradually blurred with tears.

As a college student, she could probably guess what her father was going to do next.

She also knew the final fate awaiting her father.

But she had no way to stop it.

This isolated mountain forest was the perfect breeding ground for crime.

...

”I know this human.”

From afar in the cave, watching Liu Ting cry at the cave entrance, the clouded leopard said: ”She is the human who let me go.”

Her?

Chen Wen found it a bit unbelievable.

A poaching father could raise a daughter who protects animals?

This family is truly divided!

After gaining wisdom and emotions, the clouded leopard had a good feeling toward the human who let it go.

It hesitated for a moment and asked: ”Can I go see her?”

Chen Wen nodded: ”Go ahead, be careful.”

Saying this, he ordered the other animals that followed to stay put.

Meanwhile, he slowly followed from another side.

...

Meow!

The sudden cry of the clouded leopard startled Liu Ting.

She instinctively retreated but was surprised to see a familiar figure.

”Is it you? That clouded leopard? Why are you back?”

Liu Ting was shocked as she gazed at the clouded leopard.

Suddenly, she said a bit sadly: ”Are you dead? Are you a spirit now? Am I going to die too? Is that why I can see you?”

Listening to Liu Ting’s words, Chen Wen covered his forehead.

Good heavens, what’s going on in this kid’s head!

However, Liu Ting quickly realized that the clouded leopard in front of her wasn’t a spirit or a dead thing.

On the contrary, this was a living clouded leopard.

And its wounds seemed to have been treated.

What’s going on here?

Liu Ting was confused.

At this moment, Chen Wen deliberately made footstep sounds, arriving at the side of the cave.

In the wild wilderness, the sudden appearance of an adult human truly startled Liu Ting.

She instinctively moved back into the cave while looking around for a weapon.

But Chen Wen ignored her, just whistling to call the clouded leopard back to his side.

Seeing this, Liu Ting pondered: ”You... are you the one who saved it? Where are you from? Why are you in the mountains?”

”That’s right, I saved the clouded leopard.”

Chen Wen had no intention of hiding and said directly: ”I’m here to rescue people.”

Rescue people?

Liu Ting slightly opened her mouth, breathing heavily: ”Who... who are you here to rescue?”

”Four lost college students and four guides who tried to save them but got lost in the Ailao Mountain Forbidden Zone.”

Chen Wen said: ”But currently, it seems I’ve found all the people lost in Ailao Mountain.”

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, Liu Ting couldn’t hold back her tears anymore: ”Is... is it to save us? Thank you! Thank you!”

Saying this, she seemed drained of all strength, kneeling on the ground.

After calming down a bit, Liu Ting spoke hurriedly: ”Quick, my friend, no, how many people do you have?”

”There were originally thirteen people, twelve of whom were soldiers.”

Chen Wen said: ”But unfortunately, only I am left now.”

These words immediately extinguished the hope that Liu Ting had just ignited, as if doused by a bucket of water.

”Just, just you alone?”

”Yes.”

After a moment of silence, Liu Ting said: ”One person is not enough. I saw that they have guns and knives. You can’t save everyone by yourself, you could even get trapped. You should leave now!”

Saying this, she seemed to remember something: ”I still have some food here, take it, go quickly, tell the outside about the situation here, there’s a poaching gang here...”

”Xavier, Xie Sheng, Xie Bing, Liu Hong.”

Based on the information Xu Yong told him, Chen Wen accurately reported the names of the poaching gang.

This left Liu Ting stunned.

”How... how do you know?”

Chen Wen thought for a moment and tried to explain the situation outside to Liu Ting in the simplest words possible.

This left Liu Ting completely dumbfounded.

”How... how could we have caused such a big commotion?”

After a long pause, Liu Ting felt somewhat ashamed.

She pondered for a long time and then looked at Chen Wen: ”What should I do now?”

Chen Wen gave Liu Ting two choices: ”It’s simple, first, stay here and act like nothing happened. If I can rescue them, you can return with us; secondly, come with me, and find a way to rescue them, then return together.”

After thinking for a long time, Liu Ting looked at Chen Wen: ”I choose the second option!”
