Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 477: Chapter 26: Clouded Leopard Joins

After informing Xu Yong about the situation, Chen Wen sat cross-legged on the ground, contemplating the next step of his plan.

At present, waiting for the team to catch up before taking action seemed to be the best option.

However, the team was also within the geomagnetic anomaly area, unable even to make satellite phone calls.

No, I must keep moving forward.

Waiting any longer would be uncertain, and if that group discovered the clouded leopard had escaped, they might resort to other actions.

After all, according to the clouded leopard, it was released by a human with long hair in that group.

That person is likely an accomplice from Yan Bian, or more probably one of the two disappeared couples.

We must find them quickly!

After firming up his determination, Chen Wen looked at the backward-gliding cat.

This fellow knows the location of that group and most likely remembers their scent.

Finding that group will certainly require the help of the backward-gliding cat.

Thinking of this, Chen Wen took a deep breath, looking sincerely at the backward-gliding cat.

”I need your help, help me find those who once harmed you!”

Chen Wen’s words made the backward-gliding cat instantly display cowardice.

It made a series of whimpering sounds, not directly responding to Chen Wen, but cautiously pulling away.

This cowardice made Chen Wen furious.

Those damn poachers, every hunting they do is a torture and slaughter for wildlife, and destruction for the natural environment and ecology!

A flame burned from the bottom of Chen Wen’s heart.

He took a deep breath, suppressing the fierce fire.

After calming down his emotions to a peaceful state.

Chen Wen sincerely said, ”Don’t worry, I won’t let you fight and struggle with that group, I just want you to lead me to them.”

”Besides, if you guide me, I will continuously provide you with food.”

Upon hearing this, the backward-gliding cat finally spoke: ”They are very dangerous and ferocious, if you go, I’m worried you might be harmed by them, just like me.”

”But if I don’t go, more and more animals will be harmed by them!”

Chen Wen’s firm gaze at the backward-gliding cat stunned several other animals around.

Upon hearing his words, the backward-gliding cat froze.

It was momentarily unsure of how to respond.

Seeing this, Chen Wen continued, ”Moreover, my friends are very likely in their hands, if I don’t go, my friends might be killed by this group!”

Poaching, especially in Hua Country.

The severe nature is comparable to drug trafficking.

Especially these poachers daring to enter the forbidden region of Ailao Mountain, they are certainly not a small-scale operation, but an organized, purposeful large poaching syndicate.

Once caught, the general punishment starts from ten years.

Therefore, in order to ensure they remain undetected, and protect this poaching channel from exposure.

It’s possible for these people to resort to deadly actions.

After all, when wealth is within reach, few can resist its temptation.

Chen Wen is very aware of this.

That’s why, not only should he not stop, he must find them even faster!

After nearly a minute of silence, the backward-gliding cat raised its head: ”As long as you can protect me, I will lead you!”

Chen Wen’s heart relaxed slightly, his expression softened.

Just at that moment, around them, the yellow-throated marten emitted a peculiar chirping sound, exuding a fierce aura.

It looked at Chen Wen: ”I will also help you! To tear apart those who want to harm us!”

The short-tailed cat said nothing, merely stood silently beside Chen Wen.

Being an animal that has known Chen Wen the longest since the beginning, no words were needed between them.

At this moment, from above, the crested serpent eagle that had returned for a while landed on Chen Wen’s shoulder: ”I will be your eyes, helping you see all dangers clearly!”

”Great!”

Chen Wen looked at the group of animals around him, motivated: ”Let’s set out then!”

Thinking of this, Chen Wen looked at the backward-gliding cat: ”Next, it’s up to you.”

”Okay!”

With this, the backward-gliding cat stood up supporting itself.

Chen Wen reached out to hold it in his arms: ”You just need to tell me the direction.”

The backward-gliding cat struggled slightly, then gave up further resistance.

It looked at Chen Wen, accepting the system’s gift—a gift of exchanging ability for wisdom.

[You have gained the recognition of a friend, please retrieve the entry prepared for you by your friend]

[Your friend—the clouded leopard, has prepared a gift for you]

[Retrieving... Retrieval completed!]

[Please choose one from the following three entries]

[Arboreal (Purple): You excel at residing and roosting in treetops, becoming agile when on trees, able to sleep comfortably on trees, with an enhanced field of view]

[Note: I like big trees very much because they have the least danger and it’s easier to find food on trees—Clouded Leopard]

[Descendant of the Saber-toothed Tiger (Gold): You will grow the largest canine teeth among feline species by proportion, allowing you to specialize in biting animals’ heads, causing fatal damage]

[Note: My teeth are very powerful, hoping to assist you—Clouded Leopard]

[Ankle Joint (Clouded Leopard) (Purple): You have acquired a new organ—Ankle Joint (Clouded Leopard), you can now try upside-down walking. ps: Organ entry, can enable or disable the entry at will, your body automatically adjusts to the new organ, the new organ will also adapt to your body]

[Note: If you acquire this ability, can you hang on trees like me?—Clouded Leopard]

Among the three entries, [Descendant of the Saber-toothed Tiger] while being gold, Chen Wen wasn’t fond of it.

While canine teeth are useful, especially when grafted onto transformed animals.

But for Chen Wen, he doesn’t like biting animals.

The feeling of hair in the mouth is particularly unpleasant just thinking about it.

Moreover, among the animals he can transform into now, canine teeth aren’t useful.

Elephants have tusks, bears rely on strength, rattlesnakes on venom.

This entry is almost useless.

[Arboreal] is likewise.

As a human, he prefers living on the ground or in caves unless necessary.

Therefore, the seemingly least useful entry [Ankle Joint (Clouded Leopard)] became Chen Wen’s final choice.

This entry seems to have no apparent use.

But Chen Wen knows well, the effects of entries can’t be judged by appearances.

This entry is key to upside-down walking, perhaps having unexpected applications.

Furthermore, Chen Wen looked at the clouded leopard.

He truly didn’t expect this fellow to be a clouded leopard, as their numbers in the country are extremely few.

About half a year ago, Chen Wen saw a news report.

The last clouded leopard in the country’s zoo had passed away.

Now to see a clouded leopard, it has to be in such wild places.

And it must be specific wilderness.

In summary, with the clouded leopard joining, Chen Wen’s team grew stronger again.

”Let’s go! Find those people!”
