Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 465: Chapter 14: Found One

In the end, the strategy to let Chen Wen go ahead alone received everyone’s approval.

believed that Chen Wen wouldn’t joke with his life, and he also felt that Chen Wen was not a reckless person.

On the contrary, Chen Wen was even more cautious than they were.

”Then be careful. Do you need any supplies or tools?”

Chen Wen nodded, ”Do you have honey? Or something sweet?”

He pointed to the crested honey buzzard and said, ”This guy likes sweet things, and I don’t have any more food on hand.”

This made everyone feel a bit helpless.

They only brought ordinary food, and there wasn’t anything sweet.

However, at that moment, word came from the main camp that had been listening in through communication equipment.

Xu Yong said, ”Two things: First, Team Three is currently advancing slowly along the path you’ve cleared. They should arrive in about a day and will set up a support camp at your current location. As long as electronic devices can be used, we’ll use drones to deliver supplies to you.”

”Second, you can request any supplies you need. The first batch is being sent out now and will arrive at your location in about an hour. I will make sure they include honey in the supplies.”

Upon hearing this, the rescue team had no objections.

”It’s settled. Chen Wen will lead the way on his own, Team B will follow behind him, and Team A and I will be at the back. Let’s advance steadily!”

After setting the plan, everyone prepared on the spot.

Once the first wave of supplies arrived by air, Chen Wen took an entire plastic can filled with honey.

At the sight of the can, the crested honey buzzard couldn’t hold back.

”I’m heading out first. Rest up and catch up afterward.”

Chen Wen calmed the restless crested honey buzzard and set off with the supplies.

As his figure gradually disappeared into the thickets, the rescue team members behind sorted the supplies and then set off.

...

At the edge of the bushes.

”There’s a marker here, pointing downhill.”

Having learned how to recognize markers, the short-tailed cat agilely moved through the bushes, finding the mark for Chen Wen.

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen quickly caught up and looked at the sharpened branch, ”Yes, they went down the mountain.”

Gazing at the dense forest below the mountain, Chen Wen couldn’t help but sigh.

Why do they always choose the dangerous paths!

”Greywing, have you learned to recognize the markers now?”

In its communication with the short-tailed cat, the crested honey buzzard named itself Greywing.

Chen Wen initially wanted to tell it that its feathers were actually brown, but seeing how much the crested honey buzzard liked the name, he let it go.

The crested honey buzzard replied, ”I can vaguely see a bit, but the markers you pointed out are too subtle, and if I fly up, I might miss them easily.”

Fine, let’s just take it slow then.

Chen Wen waved over the crested honey buzzard to fly to his side.

He decided to let the short-tailed cat lead in front while he followed behind, searching for markers together.

In Chen Wen’s view, the coordination between him and the cat was seamless.

Following the marker directions, they moved steadily toward the foot of the mountain.

By midday, Chen Wen had descended into the rainforest area of the mountain and planned to take a brief rest there.

The rescue team had also caught up but was still about an hour away from reaching Chen Wen’s position.

After all, Chen Wen moved much faster than they did.

While resting, Chen Wen took out the honey, and the crested honey buzzard eagerly extended its beak to gobble it up.

Chen Wen, however, nibbled on portable food.

The short-tailed cat, not liking the food brought along this time, went to forage in the surrounding forest.

Just as Chen Wen had finished eating and was about to call the short-tailed cat back to continue their journey,

the short-tailed cat quickly returned to Chen Wen’s side and said seriously, ”Human! I smell the scent of blood!”

Chen Wen sat up straight and asked, ”What kind of blood? Can you tell?”

”Yes, it’s human blood. I’ve smelled a similar scent back in the zoo.”

Hearing the short-tailed cat’s words, Chen Wen’s heart immediately tensed up.

He quickly said, ”Take me there!”

Meanwhile, Chen Wen also activated [Blood Tracking],actively seeking the source of the bloody scent.

Soon enough.

With the short-tailed cat leading the way, Chen Wen found the blood-red threads in the air.

Seeing these slender threads, he felt a bit of relief.

The chances are high that it’s a minor injury, unlikely to be death or a severe injury.

Chen Wen thought, quickening his pace.

He pressed through the lush bushes, allowing them to scratch noisily at his clothes.

Following the thread’s guidance, Chen Wen and the short-tailed cat arrived at a relatively open area.

This is it!

Seeing the small shelter in the middle of the clearing, Chen Wen’s heart sank.

Because he didn’t hear any movement.

His arrival was loud, but there was no response from the other side, which wasn’t a good sign.

With heavy steps, Chen Wen walked to the front of the small shelter.

He peeked inside, his heart filled with tension.

Amid this tense atmosphere, Chen Wen saw the person’s face clearly.

Familiar, yet strange.

”This is... that local guide!”

Chen Wen recalled the photo matching this person’s face and quickly opened the small door of the shelter.

He reached out, feeling for the guide’s breath.

There was still breathing!

But his condition was poor; Chen Wen carefully felt the guide’s body temperature.

Very low!

It seems he was experiencing hypothermia!

Moreover, his right foot was missing a shoe, visibly sprained, with the ankle swollen like a bread roll.

Most importantly, on his right calf, there was a barely distinguishable scar.

The scab was very thin and still oozing blood.

The bloody scent was undoubtedly coming from here!

”Team A, Team B! Team A, Team B! Hurry over! I have a major discovery here! I’ve found a missing guide!”

Chen Wen’s voice clearly transmitted through the communication channel.

Seated at the main camp, Xu Yong took the news like a sudden whip crack and jumped up sharply.

”Is he still alive!”

Xu Yong asked the question everyone else wanted to ask.

”Alive! But his condition is very poor! He’s hypothermic, his ankle is sprained, and his leg has bite and scratch marks from an animal!”

Chen Wen calmly assessed the situation, ”I’m administering first aid to alleviate the hypothermia situation now. Team A, Team B, send two members over quickly with warming supplies and bandages!”

Upon hearing this, 01 decided immediately, ”08, 09, take Black Tiger with the tools and supplies that the second team needs, and move fast for backup! Quickly!”

Orders were swiftly followed.

From Team B upfront, members 08 and 09 swiftly gathered the supplies Chen Wen requested.

At the same time, following the markers Chen Wen left, they moved quickly with the military dog Black Tiger.

The speed was no slower than Chen Wen’s earlier pace.

On the second day of the search and rescue operation, one person was found!

This news spread through the entire camp like it had wings.

Some were joyous, others worried.

Only one person was found. What about the others?

Why were they separated?

Could they have encountered danger forcing them to split up?

Or have the others already...

But overall, everyone was happy.
