Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 454: Chapter 3: Obstacles to the Search and Rescue

There are a lot of people, and it’s very chaotic.

This was Chen Wen’s first impression of the square.

However, unlike the square outside the scenic area, the chaos here is a kind of desolate chaos.

As Chen Wen passed by some tents, he even heard faint crying.

His heart couldn’t help but clench.

Wang Zhi also lowered his voice and said, ”Sister-in-law is a bit better now, no problem coaxing the child, and quite a few of Mr. Yan’s relatives have arrived, but... oh, this mess, that’s the tent over there.”

Because of a gathering earlier in the year, Chen Wen had become very familiar with Yan Bian’s family.

The tiger-headed kid, Chen Wen even gave him a bear tooth, hoping he would be as strong as a grizzly bear.

But when Chen Wen walked into the tent, the haggardness of Yan Bian’s wife, and the confusion and sadness of the child.

All made Chen Wen’s heart clench once again.

After some conversation, Chen Wen and Wang Zhi left the tent.

”Sigh, if sister-in-law receives news that something happened to Mr. Yan, she will probably collapse.”

After leaving, Chen Wen couldn’t help but sigh.

Wang Zhi said nothing, but he was thinking the same.

”What do we do now?”

Chen Wen looked at Wang Zhi.

Wang Zhi shook his phone: ”I spoke with Mr. Lv, and he’s sent someone to pick us up, there are motorcycles.”

Alright.

Chen Wen and Wang Zhi found a step to sit on, silently watching this temporary camp.

Besides the grieving relatives, there were also many vest-wearing scenic area staff walking around, comforting the families.

”Why is there a commotion over there?”

Seeing the disturbance in the camp, Chen Wen couldn’t help but ask.

”It’s normal. No rescue team has been dispatched yet, so the families are anxious, and conflicts have happened more than once or twice.”

Wang Zhi said, ”The furthest so far is a rescue team formed by the armed police, but they haven’t even found Mr. Yan’s first resting camp.”

So that’s how it is, it seems the difficulty of the search and rescue is greater than I thought.

Chen Wen took a deep breath.

Not long after, accompanied by the buzzing of motorcycles, Lv Guocheng’s people arrived.

They were all locals recruited by him.

They had Wang Zhi and Chen Wen get on the motorcycles, heading deeper down the newly constructed cement road.

...

Along the way, the surrounding scenery continuously retreated.

Chen Wen also kept observing the situation in the Ailao Mountain Sanctuary.

The climate is mainly subtropical, but the vertical variation is significant.

Based on the types of vegetation, from the foothills to the summit, Chen Wen could identify six climatic types, transitioning from tropical to cold temperate zones.

This complex climatic condition... the difficulty of search and rescue is extremely high, and surviving in such a place is also very difficult.

Hypothermia will make anyone entering Ailao Mountain realize its power.

Riding the motorcycle, it was night when Chen Wen finally reached the forefront camp, which was also the last camp for Yan Bian and his team.

There were already quite a few people and tents here.

Luckily, this place was originally prepared for camping, so it was very spacious.

Chen Wen glanced around and saw many police cars.

”Over here, that’s the police’s camp, and our civilian rescue team is here.”

Wang Zhi led the way to a relatively large tent.

Opening the tent door, Chen Wen immediately saw Lv Guocheng.

”You’re here? Was the journey smooth?”

Seeing Chen Wen, Lv Guocheng’s tightly furrowed brow finally relaxed a little.

Chen Wen nodded, ”Smooth, Mr. Lv, what’s the situation now?”

”Sigh, it’s unfortunate for Yan Bian.”

Lv Guocheng sighed; his expression was somewhat desolate: ”What can be confirmed now is that they probably went into the deepest part of the forbidden zone, and there’s a high chance they’re still alive, but the difficulty of the rescue is really overwhelming.”

”Take a look at this weather data, it’s a coincidence, a large warm, humid air mass is coming from the south, causing rain here; it rains at least twice a day in the mountains, the ground is soft, rescue teams can’t get in, flash floods and landslides can occur at any time, even the locals don’t dare to go deeper.”

Looking at this data made Chen Wen sigh too.

Under the current situation, even if Chen Wen could go in for the search and rescue, Yan Bian might not be able to hold on until Chen Wen finds him.

Wang Zhi asked from the side: ”I heard the troops are coming, is it true?”

”It’s true.”

Lv Guocheng said: ”But even the troops will have to enter on foot, the magnetic field here is also strange, electronic devices fail in many places, and it’s hard for helicopters to carry out search and rescue with the thick forests.”

”Is there anything I can do to help?”

Chen Wen asked.

Lv Guocheng shook his head: ”I initially contacted you to have you teach my rescue team some techniques to go in for the search, but the locals won’t enter, and with things being so bad now, we’ll wait for the official notice, be prepared to assist. What about you, do you have any ideas?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen immediately said, ”I plan to go in for the search and rescue.”

Before Lv Guocheng could respond, a familiar voice came from outside: ”No! You can’t go in for the search and rescue!”

Chen Wen was taken aback, only to see Liu Yu walking in from outside.

He nodded to Lv Guocheng and sat next to him.

”Why not?”

Chen Wen asked.

Liu Yu extended one finger: ”First, in the afternoon, the scenic area, along with the police and local government, issued a notice banning any private entries into the Ailao Mountain Forbidden Zone. Now, other than officially organized search and rescue teams, no one else is allowed to go in!”

Before Chen Wen could speak, Liu Yu extended a second finger: ”Second, from the association here, I and Mr. Lu of the Emergency Rescue Committee have surveyed the periphery. If our people go in, they can protect themselves, but bringing others out is hard. There are eight adults trapped inside now; what if one of them can’t move?”

Then, Liu Yu raised a third finger: ”Third, you are representing the association and yourself in an upcoming survival competition, so your safety is also important. As your direct superior, I prohibit you from going into the Ailao Mountain Forbidden Zone for search and rescue!”

After the three points, it was as if the tent was emptied of air, instantly falling silent.

Just as Chen Wen frowned and was about to speak, a group of people came in with noisy footsteps.

Chen Wen turned around and saw they were the brothers from the island days.

Except for Zhuo Hongnian, who was traveling abroad for summer vacation, everyone else had come.

The arrival of the island brotherhood eased the atmosphere significantly.

After a burst of chaotic greetings, the topic eventually returned to the search and rescue.

The three points Liu Yu had mentioned earlier were shared by Wang Zhi in the brotherhood group’s chat. After some thought, everyone felt Liu Yu’s words made sense.

After all, Chen Wen is not a professional rescuer; he is good at survival, not rescues.

Recklessly sending Chen Wen in might put him in danger.

As a result, the brotherhood immediately agreed with Liu Yu’s opinion and instead began persuading Chen Wen to not be impulsive.

This made Chen Wen feel quite helpless.

He dared to enter because this time, Chen Wen didn’t plan to activate his cultivation mode.

Instead, he planned to enter in full state, with the primary goal being search and rescue.

He could fly, transform, and use over a hundred entries without restriction.

Chen Wen felt his safety was well assured.

But this thing, except for himself, no one else knew.

It’s very frustrating!

While Chen Wen was feeling irritated, Gan Tieshan said, ”I just heard from the police officers over there that they plan to recruit people to form a search and rescue team. Tomorrow, a military search and rescue team will come, and by then, these search and rescue teams will enter the peripheral area of the Ailao Mountain Forbidden Zone with the military, assisting in the search, but only operating on the periphery.”

Chen Wen’s eyes lit up: ”Any restrictions?”
