Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 483: Chapter 32: Reconnaissance · Discovery

The Yellow-throated Marten spoke up at this time: ”I’ve chatted with Damo before, and I have a request, which is that my food must be alive!”

It stated quite seriously: ”I don’t like eating dead prey!”

”No problem!”

Chen Wen waved his hand, fulfilling all the animals’ requests.

After confirming that the animals all wanted to follow him, Chen Wen suddenly remembered something.

This time, we’re not abroad!

If these animals want to go through official channels, will there be any issue?

Looking at several animals, Chen Wen recalled their information in his mind.

Wild boars are fine.

In Yun Province, because wild boars constantly cause damage to farmland, they’ve been removed from the ”Three Have” list.

Some places are even hunting wild boars.

They’re relatively easy to carry.

The Yellow-throated Marten and the Crested Honey Buzzard are both National Category II.

Yellow-throated Marten’s ferocious nature, coupled with overlapping living areas with many rare animals.

Its impact on the natural ecology is relatively severe.

A well-known incident is when a Yellow-throated Marten nearly killed a Giant Panda.

Therefore, taking it away shouldn’t be too difficult.

But the Crested Honey Buzzard is a bit more difficult.

Not to mention its Category II status, its numbers are sparse, and it mainly doesn’t have a negative impact on the ecological environment.

As for the Clouded Leopard, even harder!

If Chen Wen recalls correctly, this guy is National Category I!

Hiss!

Troublesome!

Forget it, obstacles will be overcome when the time comes.

Chen Wen simply decided to let it play out; they’ll deal with it when leaving.

Resting by the lakeside for about an hour.

Suddenly, a series of whistles came from the sky.

This was the Crested Honey Buzzard’s call; it has returned!

Chen Wen immediately waved and responded with a call.

The Crested Honey Buzzard heard the call and immediately folded its wings, swooping down from high altitude.

Finally, upon reaching low altitude, it spread its wings, began gliding, and steadily landed on Chen Wen’s shoulder.

”How’s the situation?”

Chen Wen asked the Crested Honey Buzzard.

The Crested Honey Buzzard groomed its feathers with its beak and then said: ”I saw other humans, many, more than us.”

Of course, Yan Bian’s group alone surpasses ours.

As Chen Wen waited for the Crested Honey Buzzard to continue, it no longer spoke.

”Continue?”

Chen Wen asked quizzically.

”What else should I say?”

The Crested Honey Buzzard looked more puzzled.

Well, it seems this guy just took a quick look and returned.

Chen Wen sighed, but he didn’t blame it.

He carefully chose his words and asked, ”Did you... see clearly what they were holding?”

”Clearly, it’s a little monkey, oh.”

Little monkey?

The Crested Honey Buzzard flapped its wings and said: ”It’s a very small monkey, much smaller than big monkeys, when I was there it kept crying, and finally, it was put in a cage by those humans.”

It seems that group is poaching.

Chen Wen thought, and continued to ask: ”How many humans put the little monkey in the cage?”

”I don’t know, couldn’t see clearly.”

The Crested Honey Buzzard said.

Since that’s the case.

Chen Wen once again activated the transformation entry, but this time it was—[Transformation (Western Diamondback Rattlesnake)].

He decisively transformed into a rattlesnake, coiling around the Crested Honey Buzzard’s body.

The Crested Honey Buzzard was startled by Chen Wen’s action, but upon the animals’ explanation around, it finally realized this was Chen Wen’s alternate form.

Chen Wen in snake form said: ”Take me over to have a look.”

Upon hearing this, the animals also wanted to go along, but Chen Wen refused them.

”I’ll go observe the situation first, you wait, I’ll be back; once I clearly see the situation, then we’ll follow.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, the animals stopped insisting on following.

...

The Crested Honey Buzzard took off.

Chen Wen was grasped in the talons of the Crested Honey Buzzard, overlooking the land from above.

He didn’t fly himself, mainly fearing being seen by the people below.

Whether it’s a flying snake, bear, elephant, or a winged person, being seen would absolutely cause a stir.

Especially since there are still people from our side here.

Just like that, Chen Wen imitated being a snake captured by the Crested Honey Buzzard, flying swiftly toward the place where humans were discovered.

About half an hour later, the Crested Honey Buzzard spotted the group of people again.

Chen Wen looked down from above and quickly saw Yan Bian.

Compared to before, Yan Bian’s current situation is not good.

Poor complexion, a face full of distress, not to mention, he’s also emaciated.

At this moment, Yan Bian was lying on the ground, beside him was an iron cage with animals in it.

In the cage were some animals Chen Wen was not familiar with, none of which were special animals.

However, one seemed like a Leopard Cat.

Beside Yan Bian were two other guides, in similar states as Yan Bian.

And to their left were four young people, two men and two women, presumably the initial four lost tourists.

Yet, these four people seemed unfazed by hunger, their faces relatively decent.

Around these four were four other males.

Some were aged, others were young, and there was even a foreigner.

It seems these four are the poachers.

Chen Wen thought, whispering to the Crested Honey Buzzard to carry him near the group to a tree.

The Crested Honey Buzzard followed Chen Wen’s order and set him down.

Chen Wen in snake form decisively activated all his sensory entries, starting to listen to the commotion from over there.

The three guides, including Yan Bian, seemed too hungry to speak, with only heavy breathing heard.

And the four young people, perhaps out of fear, dared not speak; one young woman was quietly sobbing.

So, only the poachers’ voices reached Chen Wen’s ears.

”Liu Hong, well done.”

The speaker was a foreigner, speaking somewhat broken Mandarin.

The poacher named Liu Hong took a flattering pose: ”No, no, you captured well, I only played a small role.”

The foreigner laughed heartily and continued: ”Rest assured, I won’t steal your credit, after this, you three will formally be part of the organization, work well, lots of cash is waiting for you!”

Liu Hong immediately complimented him twice.

The other two echoed Liu Hong.

”However, one long-armed ape isn’t enough to meet the buyer’s requirements, we’ve caught this little one, those adult long-armed apes will surely return to rescue it, I plan to continue setting traps, through pressuring the small long-armed ape, let it call for help, so we can catch the large ones, do you think it’s feasible?”

The foreigner Xavier asked.

Liu Hong immediately agreed with this plan: ”Feasible, Western Black-crowned Long-armed Apes are emotionally rich animals, if they hear calls, they’ll definitely come to rescue the young, and this young one is the clan leader’s offspring, even more important.”

Xie Sheng and Xie Bing also considered it feasible.

Seeing the three local hunters and guides all agree with this plan, Xavier immediately began fleshing out the details.

The four discussed endlessly, and a cruel plan gradually took shape.
