Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 484: Chapter 33: The Whole Story

Chen Wen listened clearly from the shadows.

He was somewhat angry at this moment.

Foreign poachers could be understandable, but this Liu Hong, along with Xie Sheng and Xie Bing, they were clearly locals, how could they assist the foreigners?

Some people truly abandon all principles for money!

Chen Wen didn’t act rashly because he noticed that the foreigner named Xavier had a gun.

And it was a large-caliber handgun.

Even a wild boar hit by such a large-caliber handgun might not survive.

Better be cautious.

Just as Chen Wen planned to return and think about how to deal with these four poachers.

Xavier said, ”About joining our group, wait until we catch the adult gibbons before proceeding.”

”This group is still useful now, don’t let them notice that we’re planning something, got it?”

”Got it.”

The three people said quietly, their voices no longer carrying previous fear.

”Good.”

Seeing the three on board, Xavier was satisfied and said, ”Liu Hong, you did well this time. In the afternoon, take your daughter away and let her stay at our base camp. Tell her to keep her mouth shut, understand?”

Liu Hong immediately nodded, indicating he understood.

”In the afternoon, Xie and Xie will set traps, I’ll go see where those gibbons are.”

After Xavier finished speaking, Chen Wen and the Crested Hawk Eagle had already left.

...

”Currently, it seems these people are still safe, Xavier won’t act until enough gibbons are caught.”

”However, after that, it’s uncertain. Judging by his intent, he definitely plans to act, and nine out of ten times it’s deadly!”

”So I roughly have about two days, and I don’t know where Team One is. Today I need to find an opportunity to fly to a place with a signal and contact the base camp.”

While flying, Chen Wen thought, ”That Liu Hong, his daughter should be one of the tourists. I just don’t know why she came in, does she not know her father is a poacher?”

”If the base camp is that previous cave, tonight I could go ask his daughter, see if I can get any information from there.”

”As for the others, tsk, even if I could rescue them, I couldn’t take them out; this area is still a geomagnetic anomaly zone, helicopters can’t come in, better communicate with the camp first.”

Chen Wen stopped overthinking and let the Crested Hawk Eagle take him back to the lakeside.

The other animals immediately asked about the situation when seeing Chen Wen return.

Chen Wen narrated the situation and planned to hear the animals’ opinions.

The Yellow-throated Marten didn’t disappoint Chen Wen, first to step forward, ”Take them down! You transform into something big and stomp them unconscious, I’ll bite their throats!”

”Good idea, don’t say it next time.”

Chen Wen helplessly rubbed his forehead.

The wild boar said blankly, ”I think this method is pretty good, why can’t we say it?”

”Because those people have weapons, really powerful ones.”

The Bobtail Cat explained, ”Even from far away, they can kill us. At the place I stayed before, there was an animal similar to you hurt by such a weapon.”

Chen Wen also knew about the incident the Bobtail Cat mentioned.

It was a black bear, shot and injured by a poacher in the forest, found dying by a ranger.

Then transported to a zoo for treatment.

”That powerful?”

The wild boar was incredulous, it looked at Chen Wen, ”Can it pierce through my thick skin?”

”It can, that’s a large-caliber handgun, and if aimed at a vital spot, killing a bear isn’t a problem.”

Chen Wen said, ”So, we need to think slowly about a plan, you all wait here first, I’ll go out, if hungry, just find food yourselves.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, several animals immediately took action.

The Yellow-throated Marten, Bobtail Cat, and Clouded Leopard teamed up to find food.

The wild boar searched for some plant roots nearby.

The Crested Hawk Eagle expressed it smelled honey and planned to search for food close by, looking for honey.

Chen Wen then activated the entry — [Wings (Golden Eagle)], took off with a backpack.

Going to find a place to contact the main camp.

...

Chen Wen spread his wings, judging the general direction from high up.

In the end, he chose to cross the lake district, heading to a side he hadn’t been to before.

After about less than five minutes, the constantly flashing red light on the communication equipment returned to normal.

Chen Wen immediately landed to contact the outside.

Soon after, the base camp sent a response.

Since it was Xu Yong on the other side, Chen Wen directly shared his findings.

Including the mountain cave, the number and names of the poachers.

But surprisingly to Chen Wen, Xu Yong was already aware of this information.

Not only that, Xu Yong’s side also knew the complete course of the disappearance incident.

This shocked Chen Wen.

”How do you know this?”

”It’s a young man named Wang Hu from inside the camp, the one always having people try the sticky rice dumplings.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen suddenly recalled that young face.

”It turns out it’s him, frankly, his honey dumplings really helped me this time, otherwise I couldn’t have tamed this Crested Hawk Eagle.”

Chen Wen said, continuing, ”How did he discover it?”

”He accidentally confronted the poacher group’s external contact, caught them in the act connecting with Liu Hong, but he didn’t expose them, instead he quietly went to the village to ask who hadn’t been home recently, eventually he found out.”

Xu Yong said, ”The course of this incident is actually not complicated.”

”Liu Hong’s poaching was done secretly from his family, every time he used the excuse of going into the mountains with Xie Sheng to pick mushrooms, cover up from the people around, but this time they stayed in the mountains too long, leading Liu Hong’s wife to worry, and while their daughter returned with classmates, she inadvertently told her daughter Liu Ting.”

”Her daughter was constantly restless, causing concern from her boyfriend, in order to look competent, her boyfriend proposed the idea of searching the mountains, originally everyone disagreed, but young people are like that, the more you stop them, the more they want to do it.”

”Liu Ting’s boyfriend was already a regular outdoor enthusiast, had trekked many dangerous places before, plus those trending video segments from earlier in the year led him to believe Ailao Mountain wasn’t dangerous, so after discussing it, he convinced Liu Ting’s other two friends, and the two in turn convinced Liu Ting. These four hiking youths, driven by heat, entered the mountain.”

Listening to this, Chen Wen couldn’t help but remember something long ago.

It’s the incident where a Fudan University student became trapped in Huang Mountain.

The two things seem unrelated, but the core is the same.

”You could say, bad guys rack their brains, yet can’t match a fool’s sudden ingenuity.”

This group put themselves entrapped into Ailao Mountain, not to mention implicated Yan Bian and the others in such a great ordeal.

Chen Wen sighed and asked, ”So, now what should be done? I’ve already met these people, there are four poachers, currently seen one large-caliber handgun, I don’t recognize the model, but it seems similar to the Desert Eagle from games.”

This left Xu Yong speechless.

Game models can’t be taken seriously.

He thought for a moment, and said, ”Can you find a way to maneuver or delay?”

”Once Team One A arrives at the mountain, they encountered a mudslide, people are fine, but they can’t cross, currently standing by at the lake district.”

This news hit Chen Wen quite hard.

His backup was gone.

”Maneuvering is tough, I eavesdropped on their conversation earlier, they plan to poach gibbons, and once they complete the poaching, they may go for the kill.”

Chen Wen said, ”I’ll share the approximate location, if you can come, come, if not, I’ll go alone.”
