Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 549: Chapter 407: Eating Pokémon!? (2)

There will definitely be a gap.

Especially for something like Porygon, this silly, dazed, honest, slow Building Block Duck.

When Baimu thought about how almost all trainers would be using Rotom phones in the future, he couldn’t help but feel a bit sad for Porygon, thinking maybe he should come up with a Porygon phone.

How could we let Rotom dominate alone?

Eliminate Pokémon monopoly!

He thought confidently, while the Porygon walking beside the trainer was contemplating if there would be a chance to slip into a computer tonight and have a go at those damn Rotoms.

For some reason, the more he looked at them, the more he felt a sinister fire rise!

——

Mauville Food Square.

In the game, you could earn tangible rewards here through battles, from gold beads to Tree Fruits, and more.

But in reality, it’s clear there’s no spare space for battles, only a row of eateries with signboards hung full.

[Welcome to Mauville Food Square, showcasing specialty foods from over nine regions! Please enjoy the fun brought by culinary delights!]

Baimu had just walked in when the voice broadcast came overhead.

Over nine regions?

He paused for a second, came to the navigation board by the door, and observed for a few seconds. On the list of densely situated store locations, he found a restaurant named ”Come and Come Pavilion,” which indicated it was from the Padia Region.

Padia Region...

So there’s Chinese food in this world?

Before Baimu crossed over, he hadn’t played Scarlet & Violet, so he crammed on the Pokémon from the Padia Region in the past few months. His understanding wasn’t particularly deep, and he knew nothing about the customs of that land.

He always thought that the chef’s iron pot stir-fry was an original creation.

But upon thinking carefully, it seemed the iron pot was inherited by the chef from the chef’s grandpa, so where did the chef’s grandpa get the iron pot and spatula from?

The mystery was solved.

Most likely, the chef’s family moved from the Padia Region to the Carlos Region, and they had a tangled and complicated relationship with the Come and Come Pavilion.

Looking at the familiar names above, Baimu couldn’t help but reminisce, ”Mapo tofu... almond tofu... ramen... Toedscool pickled with Little Cucumber!? What the heck? Cold jellyfish head? Eating Pokémon?”

”No, the part consumed by the pickled Toedscool is the naturally shedding thin slices on their bodies. This is a Grass Attribute Pokémon, so in essence, it’s no different from Tropius’s fruit.”

A voice suddenly sounded from behind.

”I see, thank you for the clarification—” Baimu turned around gratefully, only to find Bonnie in a purple long dress standing behind him.

His hand trembled slightly, ”Uh! Queen Bonnie?”

”I’ve heard a lot about you, Lord Baimu. Mr. Da Wu often mentions your name in recent months. I didn’t expect to meet you here.” Bonnie crossed her arms lightly, a barely noticeable smile on her face.

Up close, she seemed to carry a cool aura around her, just getting near made one feel chilly...

Remember Bonnie isn’t from Hoenn.

Could she be from Snow Peak City in Sinnoh?

Baimu greeted her, then couldn’t help but wonder, ”Dare I ask, how did you recognize me? Did Mr. Da Wu show you my photo?”

”Not at all.”

Bonnie admitted, ”When I was eating just now, the restaurant’s TV was playing your Gorgeous Competition participation, it was quite good, your Mawile uses Ice Attribute moves really well.”

”You’re too kind...” Baimu was momentarily at a loss for words.

Then Bonnie took the initiative to suggest exchanging line numbers with him and told him her place of stay.

”Room B113 at Mauville Mountain Hotel, I’m on vacation in Mauville City this week, if you encounter any problems, feel free to find me.”

The elegant lady said, ”I won’t disturb your meal anymore. Oh, if you’re going to Come and Come Pavilion, I personally highly recommend their ramen.”

With that said,

she nodded slightly and then turned to leave.

Mauville Mountain Hotel is located on the second floor of Li Mauville, it’s a super-luxurious hotel, and it’s a residential area in the game, which is also Baimu’s landing spot for the night.

The room was quite tough to book, he was lucky that someone happened to check out, allowing him to squeeze in.

”Didn’t expect to be approached once again...”

Baimu looked at the two new contact numbers on his phone, feeling strangely complex, ”Forget it, let’s eat! If it’s good, we’ll learn from them!”

He said to Porygon.

Porygon happily waggled its blocky legs.

A trainer and a Pokémon arrived at the destination—[Golduck’s Smile] branch, the cute Golduck head on the signboard caught the eye.

[Come and Come Pavilion] or whatever, we’ll visit tomorrow.

Just in time, the scheduled gym challenge is in the afternoon, so coming here for lunch could give him a hometown buff.

Upon entering the store,

the hall setup was just as advertised online, filled with tiny round tables typical for western restaurants, business seemed bustling, but it restricted large-sized Pokémon’s activities.

Porygon’s size was still within the allowable range.

Baimu ordered half a dozen dishes, eagerly waiting for the food to be served, while stealthily glancing around—

Hmm? No light?

Chef’s cooking specialty is to glow, and Baimu himself confirmed it’s not just a simulator effect, glowing culinary indeed exists, and products made by Lokomoko online also glow.

But as he saw now, the cuisine here seemed to lack that glowing effect...

Why?

Could it be that the food was prepared by an apprentice in the store, who didn’t master the secret technique?

Baimu slightly furrowed his brows, and just as he observed, all the dishes served did not glow. They were good in color, aroma, and taste but just didn’t glow.

So, he called the waiter who was serving food, ”Excuse me, why isn’t the food glowing?”

”Glowing?”

The waiter was slightly taken aback, then smiled, ”Ah~ You’re referring to the ’blessing of cuisine,’ sorry, that’s an exclusive skill only Master Lokomoko can achieve.”

”Only Master Lokomoko can master it?” Baimu repeated, still doubtful, ”But I’ve seen other chefs in Luo Faction’s cooking videos, and their dishes seem to glow too?”

The waiter’s smile didn’t fade, ”You misunderstood, that’s just a special effect, marked as a Luo Faction culinary feature.”

Special effects!

Baimu was speechless.

He silently nodded and let the waiter go. Looking at the table full of dishes, he suddenly lost his appetite.

After all, he came for the authentic glowing cuisine, but it turns out only Lokomoko can make glowing dishes, commonly called the ’blessing of cuisine.’

He did see comments mentioning this before, but he didn’t pay any attention, just skipped through it.

Who would have thought...

So why could he replicate the glowing dishes so easily himself? Is it something brought by the simulator?

”Porygon?”

Porygon, seeing so much delicious food, was originally excited. It was its first time dining alone with the trainer, and it couldn’t contain itself, but seeing the trainer looking a bit disappointed, its excitement faded too.

”It’s okay, it’s okay, sorry for affecting you, let’s dig in!” Baimu kneaded his face and smiled at it, ”Even if it doesn’t glow, there’s surely still something to learn, we can still learn something!”

He scooped a big spoonful of fried rice into the plate in front of Porygon, ”Eat! Don’t leave until we’re stuffed!”

”Porygon!”

Porygon nodded vigorously and dug into the food.

The trainer and the Pokémon filled their bellies to the brim, and there was still quite a bit left. No need to worry about waste, they could bring it back for Hydreigon to eat.

Mawile, being the literate young lady, might despise it, but Hydreigon has no food requirements. Not to mention leftovers, when it didn’t have eyes, it even dared to take a bite of poisonous mushrooms on the road, although its digestive system didn’t support such action.

Walking out of the restaurant,

Baimu took Porygon to buy a phone for Mawile.

And when it came to being a ”Smart Tech” for its companion, Porygon had no objections, even feeling quite happy it could help Mawile out.

After all, Mawile has always been the most esteemed member in the team.
