Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 542: Chapter 404: Putting the Finishing Touch (?)

The triple overlay of Curse, Tide Spin, and Ghost Fire.

Although these aren’t moves that can cause exaggerated damage in one strike, the layers of effect still manage to diminish at least half of Sceptile’s energy.

”It’s a pity I didn’t get another chance to use Misfortune Never Comes Alone.”

Baimu couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful.

Even with Corsola’s output, successfully hitting Misfortune Never Comes Alone could push Sceptile’s stamina to the brink, just one step away from collapse.

After all, Sceptile is in one of the abnormal states, Burning, doubling the power of Misfortune Never Comes Alone.

Unfortunately, Tetsuya reacted quickly, or perhaps he finally found an opportunity, and withdrew Sceptile into the Pokeball at the instant the Burn status appeared on its body.

Despite how fast Corsola’s follow-up moves might be, it couldn’t link up a new move that quickly.

”Well done, come back and rest.”

Baimu recalled Corsola into the ball, causing a soft gasp from the surrounding crowd.

”Why did he recall it?”

”Yeah, the situation seemed pretty great, and Corsola looked pretty good too! Such a shame!”

”Although I agree with you, but... given that miserable face, how did you perceive that?”

”Well, in any case, it was pretty good!”

Arguments arose among the crowd.

But as a Trainer, Baimu knew well despite Corsola seemingly overpowering Sceptile, having used so many consecutive moves and lost about half of its strength due to Curse, its state is actually somewhat risky.

Most Ghost Attribute’s energy isn’t substantial, their Species Value hovers between fifty and sixty, relying on dual defenses to maintain durability. This endurance is enough, but not conducive to long-term battle—thus requiring many recovery moves to replenish energy.

Besides resting, there is currently no chance to restore its condition, so it’s time to let it rest a bit, giving other Pokémon a chance to come out.

Corsola is certainly happy with this.

In the distance.

After a brief hesitation, Tetsuya sent out his second Pokémon—

”Go! Donphan!”

”Thud!”

The sturdy Donphan landed, its nose and back covered in a rock-like, dark, and resilient armor, with a pair of ivory tusks that were long and sharp, exuding a warm luster under the sun’s shine.

Donphan is a type of Pokémon Baimu was particularly familiar with, having seen at least a hundred in Pyrite Town back then.

From its size to its tusks, it’s clear that this Donphan’s strength is not low.

Moreover, just like the previous Sceptile, it belongs to Tetsuya’s championship team.

Though unclear if he has cultivated other Pokémon over the years, using the championship team to battle Baimu means he’s fully committed.

Baimu was very pleased about this and sent out a long-lost fierce warrior.

”It’s up to you this time!”

”Roar—”

Mega Steelix appeared, its deep roar rumbling like thunder above Central Park, its towering stature like a cloud enveloping half of the battlefield, its surface reflecting gleaming metallic brilliance, forming a dazzling silver light wheel.

”Hiss!” ”Wow!”

The surrounding crowd emitted gasping and exclamations of surprise, many spectators involuntarily stepped back, fearing Mega Steelix might topple over and crush them.

But more spectators showed shock as they fixed their gaze on the gigantic presence occupying half of the battlefield.

Steelix is rare enough, but one this large is extremely uncommon.

As soon as it appeared, it quickly attracted more attention and a crowd began to gather, with people calling friends to observe this battle.

”So scary, so scary...”

Aerial Rotom hovered distantly, not daring to approach.

Tetsuya and Donphan similarly looked up in awe.

”It’s so big!”

From their perspective, Mega Steelix appeared majestically like a mountain, akin to a summit, inspiring a sense of awe against their will.

But such emotions were quickly replaced by a spirited fighting will.

The championship wasn’t stolen by Tetsuya; regardless of a Mega Steelix, he has been through even more thrilling or heart-stirring scenarios.

Encountering challenges, the only solution is to overcome them!

”First strike! Earthquake!”

He shouted.

Donphan raised its trunk and forelegs high, roaring loudly, ”Thud!!”

Boom!

A deep sound akin to a thunderous shock reverberated, the ground trembled continuously under Donphan’s front limbs’ heavy impact, countless fine fissures spread like spider webs, and soil-yellow shock waves rolled forward visibly!

But surprisingly, before the shock wave approached, Mega Steelix spun its three transverse steel beams rapidly, leaping suddenly from the ground.

Whoosh!

No hindered dullness amidst the wind-breaking sound.

The thick transverse steel beams spun like a wind turbine, a sustained humming sounded, electric light encircled the transverse steel beams as several bright electromagnetic rings.

”Electromagnetic Levitation.”

Baimu’s voice arrived a little late, buried amidst the crowd’s exclamations.

Steelix, appearing like an aerial aircraft carrier, not only perfectly evaded the earthquake but spiraled overhead like the legendary Super Ancient Pokémon Rayquaza, looking down from above at Donphan, positioned at the center of countless fissures.

The bronzy scarlet eyes made the latter even more wary.

Tetsuya observed Steelix with seriousness, knowing fully well what move this was.

He simply didn’t expect Mega Steelix to use it with such flawless proficiency, stirring a foreboding feeling within him.

To swap now?

Not necessarily!

Besides swapping, there is still a path forward.
