Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 532: Chapter 399: Evil Dragon’s Heart

The smoke cleared.

In the pit, Gabite lay on its back, its mouth slightly open, puffing out smoke, its swirling eyes glaringly evident.

Alice’s excited expression froze on her face.

”G-Gabite...”

It’s hard for anyone to be happy when their Pokémon just evolved and immediately fell, especially when losing a head-to-head battle. The gap in battle strength between these Dragon-type Pokémon seemed to highlight her as a trainer’s shortcomings.

This was actually quite true.

Calming down, she realized that although Hydreigon displayed far more power than Milotic, the real cause of Gabite’s defeat was her lack of caution.

The sudden evolution made her blindly believe that Gabite now had the strength to face Hydreigon head-on.

If she had used Digging like in the previous battle against Milotic, there might have been a chance, and the Power of the Earth wouldn’t have been able to catch Gabite every time.

But there are no ’ifs.’

”Congratulations on evolving, you did your best.”

She returned Gabite to its Pokeball and gently reassured while showing a slightly regretful expression.

She originally intended to take advantage of the evolution to have a thrilling battle with Hydreigon, during which she’d connect with Hydreigon through ability and try to share these emotions with Baimu.

Perhaps she could have led him into that mysterious sensation, fully experiencing Hydreigon’s emotions at that moment.

Unexpectedly, the disparity in strength led to near success but ultimate failure.

What a pity!

Alice couldn’t help but sigh, but when she looked at Baimu in the distance, she was suddenly startled; she found he was looking up at Hydreigon in a daze.

This is...

Before she could discern further, he snapped out of it and cast his gaze over.

”Did you feel something just now?”

Alice, who had a sharp sixth sense, didn’t hesitate to ask.

Baimu hesitated for a bit before nodding.

Not knowing if it was closely tied to his heart, the moment Hydreigon lifted its head and roared, he felt as if someone shouted near his ear, ”I’m the strongest ace!!!”

The sudden feeling startled him, but when he tried to listen carefully, the sound vanished as if it were just an illusion born from his daze.

”Was it an illusion?”

He conveyed his feelings to Alice and posed a question.

Her eyes brightened, ”Of course, it’s not an illusion! It’s that faint sensation as if you could hear the voices of Pokémon’s hearts! I was the same initially!”

”Initially? How early?”

”Uh... around seven... eight years old?”

Alice scratched her head awkwardly, and Baimu was also a bit speechless.

A sign that was initially at seven or eight, and took until eleven to bloom — just three years superficially, but how could he wait that long? But then again, he just mentioned it yesterday, and the signs appeared today.

Perhaps he could accelerate the process?

Moreover, Alice had wasted much time at Shaka’s Pokémon Academy, almost burying her talents unsuitable for school.

”Sasa!”

Hydreigon’s voice suddenly rang near them.

Baimu and Alice looked up, instantly seeing it staring at them forlornly as if asking whether they’re going to fight or not, as it’s been waiting for ages!

The two snapped back to reality:

”Let’s continue.”

”Yeah, yeah, let’s continue! This feeling might not only appear once!”

Alice assured him while throwing a Pokeball, ”I’ll leave this formidable opponent to you! Dragonite!”

Bang!

White light flickered.

A ferocious-looking, sharp-eyed Dragonite appeared, its small wings, mismatched with its body, fluttering gently, enough to hold its massive form suspended in mid-air.

It gazed at Hydreigon, its fighting spirit gradually rising.

”Woohoo!!”

Its mighty roar transformed into a tangible sound wave, spreading forward.

Back during the Phantom Tower times, Dragonite had wanted to fight this seemingly powerful guy, but the environment and timing were unsuitable then.

Today, the wish is finally fulfilled!

”It’s finally here, Little Overlord Dragonite!”

Baimu saw Dragonite instantly, understanding it was probably Alice’s most powerful in her current team.

Back in the Unova period, it could match Ash Ketchum’s Charizard evenly; although they couldn’t finish due to N’s interference, its strength was at least proven.

After traveling with Alice for so long, it must have grown in every aspect again.

A perfect opponent for Hydreigon.

”Strategy.”

He didn’t attack immediately but decided to replenish the Special Attack reduced by Meteor Shower first.

”Sasa!”

Hydreigon surveyed Dragonite’s body all over as if searching for an opening, its body lit up with an orange-red glow representing status enhancement.

Due to the absence of fixed percentage ability changes and strict emphasis on skill proficiency in the animation, as Hydreigon gradually mastered Meteor Shower, the reduction in Special Attack was mitigated to an extent.

In this manner, after Strategy, its Special Attack could still increase considerably—

Otherwise, it might really struggle against the multi-scaled Dragonite.

”Dragon Dive!”

Alice didn’t just wait for the opponent to strengthen opponent; right as Baimu’s voice fell, she quickly issued the command.

”Woohoo!”

Dragonite suddenly stretched its wings, letting the airflow drag it higher.

Looking down from above, its body was ignited with azure flames, the Dragon Flame dancing like elves between its scales, quickly spreading to all its body, converging into a roaring Energy Giant Dragon, its frightening aura pouring towards Hydreigon like a tide!
