Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 538: Chapter 402: Champion? Celestial King?

Mauville City, New Mauville, Sea Mauville, and Li Mauville.

The four Mauvilles each symbolize different locations.

Although Baimu had only seen the abandoned undersea energy collection platform Sea Mauville in videos, at this moment, he was in the streets of Mauville City, able to see the vast Li Mauville from two directions and the dilapidated New Mauville on an island off the coast.

”Have you never thought about redeveloping New Mauville? I remember you saying before that not developing New Mauville was to protect the Wild Pokémon, but with the technology we have now—”

He turned his head to inquire of Tie Xuan.

Tie Xuan replied in surprise, ”You even know about this? Do you have relatives who used to work for the company?”

”No, I saw it online.”

”Ah~”

The elderly man with gray hair nodded knowingly, then regretfully said, ”Even with today’s technology, New Mauville’s environment is quite unique and shouldn’t be easily disturbed, so it can only be reconstructed based on Mauville City.”

Tie Xuan was referring to the Great Lavender Corporation, which had once put its full effort into building Mauville City. As an energy company, it had been a business rival with De Wen Company, even sending corporate spies to discover each other’s secrets.

Unfortunately, the De Wen Company was too formidable, and the Great Lavender Corporation coincidentally experienced a devastating blow from the failure of the New Mauville project, leading to its declaration of bankruptcy.

The story’s animated background is quite similar to the games, where the Great Lavender Corporation also became a relic of history, collapsing due to the failed New Mauville project.

Baimu recalled the information he’d seen and asked again, ”Is New Mauville still abandoned now?”

”Yes, many Electric Attribute Wild Pokémon live there, and although the environment isn’t as dangerous as the Valley of Steel, if you’re interested in Electric Attribute Pokémon, you might want to find a way to visit it.”

Tie Xuan laughed heartily and suddenly stopped the vehicle, ”We’re here! Li Mauville!”

Through the car window, the massive square-shaped building suddenly appeared before Baimu.

From afar, it already seemed enormous; up close, it felt even more vast, stretching beyond the reach of one’s sight.

Despite being only two and a half stories tall, it covered an incredibly large area, with a tremendous flow of people in the semi-open street inside, bustling with Trainers and Pokémon alike.

Tie Xuan said, ”The Pokémon Center is inside; you can find it by following the signs. Cars can’t enter, so I can only drop you off here. By the way, my Gym is inside too.”

”Understood, thank you for the ride.”

Baimu got out of the car and thanked him.

”Hahaha! No problem, no problem! Remember to schedule an appointment early! Don’t get too dazzled in Li Mauville! Although I’ll be at the Gym these few days, if there are too many people booking, you might have to wait in line!”

Tie Xuan waved casually, then suddenly put on a serious face, ”After all, I, as the Gym Leader, am unexpectedly quite popular! Hahaha—”

The laughter echoed as the hovering car drove away.

Baimu looked at him oddly but couldn’t help chuckling, ”What an interesting old man.”

Perhaps due to the distinctiveness of Tie Xuan’s car, as soon as Baimu stepped out, the surrounding pedestrians turned their attention to him, prompting him to quickly adjust his expression and head into Li Mauville.

Mauville City, being one of the few large cities in the Hoenn Region, likely has many Gorgeous Competition enthusiasts.

It wouldn’t be good to be blocked.

In the semi-open walkway with a glass dome, the floor-to-ceiling windows on both walls continuously played promotional videos about Li Mauville, while familiar electronic sounds came from the hidden speakers above.

”Welcome to the City of Joy, Li Mauville. We hope everyone enjoys and feels at ease, Rotom~”

Baimu scanned his surroundings and noticed that these floor-to-ceiling windows all functioned similarly to virtual screens.

Numerous Rotoms appeared as pop-ups on these virtual screens, occasionally greeting, ”Is there anything I can help you with?”

Quite a few people stopped to chat with them.

And the Rotoms were very friendly, answering people’s questions, whether asking for directions or searching for a specific shop, even pointing arrows to guide directions.

”To achieve this level without special carriers, Rotom is really an amazing Pokémon...”

As he mused subconsciously, a minimized Pokeball at his waist suddenly started shaking.

It was Porygon protesting.

This little thing, it could do that too!

”Uh.”

Baimu regretted hastily taking it out and hastily soothed, ”Sorry, sorry. But don’t take these things too seriously; Rotom has its strengths, and Porygon has its specialties too. There’s no need to compare; it’s meaningless.”

”Incorrect. Rotom is the best Pokémon in the world, Rotom~”

A Rotom from a nearby virtual screen suddenly chimed in.

The Pokeball containing Porygon started shaking even more violently, as if ready to jump out and fight this ghostly thing.

”...”

Baimu looked speechless at this unexpected intruder and said, ”I take back what I said earlier. Such a troublesome Pokémon, Rotom.”

The Rotom pop-up on the virtual screen became a crying face, ”Eh—how could you say that—”

The Pokeball at his waist stopped shaking.

Apparently, what Porygon cared about was the Trainer praising Rotom.

He sighed in relief, ignoring that Rotom, and continued walking forward. It was already pretty good that he didn’t find a way to complain about this random troublemaker.
