Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 514: Chapter 390: The Day the Boxes Are Opened (Part 4)

But with this mess, where could Aggron and the others find the interest to continue playing? They glanced at each other and then quietly peeked into the room, immediately spotting the Trainer’s face changing like TV scenes, sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy.

”Sigh.”

Mawile sat idly atop Steelix’s head.

Blissey rubbed its hands, eagerly looking at the Trainer, curious if it had a share this time.

Aggron secretly crouched in the corner, poking at the soil with its claws, suddenly understanding when it saw the ice crystals on the ground.

They were all used to the Trainer’s state, and Hydreigon wasn’t much different, but it preferred participating over observing. Other Pokémon silently watched, keeping the little secret tucked in their hearts.

Everyone has flaws.

They do, and the Trainer too.

One should be more tolerant of others, especially when he’s a Trainer.

Inside the room, Baimu naturally didn’t know his Pokémon’s thoughts and was in mixed emotions after having chosen quite a few General Attributes earlier.

The sixth — [Defend].

The seventh — [Big Explosion].

The eighth — [Waving Finger].

The ninth — [Sweet Fragrance].

The tenth — [Blow Away].

Happy for drawing a crucial Defend, but worried about those that followed. What kind of nonsense were these?

The General Type is indeed hell!

Baimu looked at the remaining six skill boxes, a bit hesitant to open them. He just opened five General Attributes in a row, and his luck, already not great, was heading towards the African direction.

If only he’d chosen the Psychic Attribute. Random selection is the worst reward mechanism on earth!

Dark! It’s too dark!

He got up and went outdoors, seeing the Pokémon looking at him first in surprise, then moving to each one of them.

He noticed that apart from Blow Away, the other moves could be learned by the Pokémon.

Steelix’s Big Explosion, Blissey’s Waving Finger, Mawile’s Sweet Fragrance, Hydreigon’s Defend... huh? Doesn’t Corsola have nothing?

Baimu froze for a moment, sensing things weren’t going well.

It’s not worry over scarcity but over inequality. Though Corsola habitually loafs around treating everyday training and battling like work and showing up, he can’t truly consider Corsola as his hired hand.

What should it learn?

Harden? Kick-down and Magic Brilliance aren’t learnable.

Is this a scam to make him open all the remaining boxes?

Baimu initially thought his luck was good that every Pokémon could learn something, but now he feels terribly unlucky. How could he miss one?

He clenched his teeth and ran to the wobbly Corsola, giving it a vigorous rub, ”Could the heavens help?”

Corsola: ”...”

Why does it feel like it’s being bullied more today?

Baimu selected the Psychic Attribute and opened the box, with a new move slowly emerging.

The eleventh — [Sleep].

”...Oh my gosh!”

He stared shocked at this move, quickly sweeping his gaze up, down, left, right, and front and back, feeling like a pair of eyes were watching him.

Why is it really so coincidental?

Exactly a move Corsola can learn, and after sleeping underwater for so many years, it hasn’t successfully napped — [Sleep]!

But the good news is there’re still five left.

After opening eleven blind boxes, though everyone has a move to learn, overall, he’s not satisfied. Just look at what kind of nonsense the General Attribute boxes produced.

Big Explosion matched with Solid could sometimes be used, Waving Finger is practically unused daily, unless in desperate situations when other moves don’t work and one bets on the last wave.

Sweet Fragrance at best is used in Gorgeous Competitions, in battles, Mawile’s approach is aggressive, so using Sweet Fragrance isn’t necessary at all.

Fortunately, the Psychic Attribute box results are fairly acceptable.

Instant Movement is quite useful outside battle, Milotic’s Hypnosis Techniques are decent, Magic Space could be left for new Pokémon in the future, and Sleep...

Feels less than Absorption Power, but occasionally facing a Special Attacker, it might prove handy.

”That’s good enough.”

Baimu rubbed his face, starting to prepare dinner for today.

Tomorrow, he sets off for Mauville City. Once he gets the Fifth Badge, he can proceed east of Hoenn, where cities are fewer and travel speed can be increased slightly.
