Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 536: Chapter 401: Transformers

The gray-brown valley floor.

Baimu looked at the compass spinning crazily on his phone, then lifted his head and murmured, ”Special magnetic fields...”

[Special magnetic field], an extraordinary environment where Magneton, Nosepass, and Charjabug can evolve. In the game, this location in the Hoenn Region is found in New Mauville. Unexpectedly, it’s also here.

”So it’s the Valley of Steel.”

He looked at the name of this area on the phone map, recalling the story that took place here in the animation—

Ash Ketchum and his friends helped a wild Torkoal defeat the leader, Steelix, of the Valley of Steel and capture it in a daily mini-episode.

But was this always a special magnetic field environment? In the animation, only Magneton and Magnemite were present. It couldn’t have been artificially created later, right?

Could there be a further extension of New Mauville beneath our feet?

This place is indeed very close to Mauville City.

Baimu glanced at the ground, suddenly remembering the wild leader here is Steelix. If it hasn’t been captured, no one would extend New Mauville here.

That being said.

He remembered the wild Steel-type Pokémon here are unusually hostile, repelling any Trainer who invades. Why hasn’t he encountered any after walking for half a day?

Could they all have been captured by Trainers passing by?

Baimu turned to look at the nearby Porygon, whose legs had transformed into fine gears, and asked, ”Do you sense anything, like electromagnetic waves emitted by Magnezone?”

”Pali!”

Porygon shook its head.

It’s not like Gible and Hydreigon with some keen Perception Ability. Even if Magnezone had emitted electromagnetic waves, it wouldn’t be able to receive them.

At that moment, as if answering Baimu’s question, countless bright yellow lightning bolts suddenly shot up from the horizon, reaching skyward.

Crack!

Boom—!!

The sky suddenly darkened and then brightened again quickly. The deafening roar and the explosive sound of electric currents then reached the ears of Baimu and Porygon.

The two exchanged a glance.

”Shall we go take a look?”

”Pali!”

Without hesitation, Porygon angularized and transformed into a hoverboard mode, the raised back sinking to form two pedals, its tail retracting into its body, its head rising and elongating with rectangular handles growing on both sides.

This was Porygon’s self-improved hoverboard mode developed by observing the Rocket Team’s single-person hover device, suitable for short-distance travel but has a downside of being unable to endure long durations, even with frequent Self-Rebirths, imposing a major burden on its stamina.

If the endurance problem is solved someday, it could probably become a true Transformer.

”Thanks, let’s set off.”

Baimu held the handles, and Porygon immediately sped towards the direction where the lightning had risen.

Not long after.

They approached the scene, but the view in front of them didn’t match the expected image. There wasn’t a large number of Magneton blocking some unfortunate Trainer, nor was there a Poaching Team using high-tech to capture wild Pokémon recklessly.

What was present was a flock of Skarmory perched on the mountain rocks, surrounded by numerous Magnemite and Magneton, and in the center were a battling Magnezone and Magneton.

Additionally, a chubby elderly man with gray-white hair was standing behind the Magneton, vocally directing the latter in battle.

The vast majority of wild Pokémon were watching this one-on-one battle.

”...Try Again! Thunder!”

As he approached, the old man’s voice gradually became clearer.

Crack—boom!!

Thunder that changed the color of the sky and earth struck again from the six magnets of Magneton, hitting Magnezone, making it tremble all over while the aftermath was discharged upwards.

”Using Electric Techniques against an Electric-type Pokémon?”

Baimu raised his eyebrow slightly, but then thought that a Pokémon like Magneton, when fighting the evolved form Magnezone, didn’t have much choice other than using Electric Techniques.

Could they use Steel Attribute techniques against which the opponent has a quadruple resistance?

While pondering, the Magnezone hit by Thunder unexpectedly toppled to the ground with a clang, its eyes on both sides turning into swirls, and its central red eye dimming.

It was actually defeated...

He shifted his gaze to the victorious Magneton, unexpectedly, the latter’s body suddenly shone with a brilliant blue light, seemingly beginning to evolve under the influence of the special magnetic field after winning the duel.

However, before Baimu could get closer, the ground ahead suddenly cracked open like a web.

Bang!

A silver-glimmering Steelix roared, abruptly burst out from underground!

”Roar!”

”Pali!”

Porygon, knowing that forcing a stop would likely cause a collision due to inertia even if it did stop, might throw the Trainer off. Therefore, it slightly slowed down while shooting a blue lightning bolt forward.

Fizz-pop!

The blue lightning hit the ground, rapidly forming an arcing ice pathway extending towards a nearby high slope, allowing Porygon to glide up and while turning around Steelix, decelerating successfully to stop.

It slightly leaned forward to allow the Trainer to land steadily.

Baimu held the Pokeball, surprised at Porygon.

He hadn’t issued any commands just now, no doubt this was Porygon’s result based on on-the-fly decision making.

Unbeknownst to him, Porygon also had grown visibly, clearly smarter and more agile now than the clumsy Building Block Duck it had seemed not long ago.

”Nice work! Thank you, Porygon!”

He couldn’t help but praise it.
