Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 519: Chapter 392: Phantom Tower (2)

Boom——!!

The flames instantly covered more than half of the sky over the pit. Under the scorching sun, the power of the Jet Flame was greatly enhanced, the terrifying momentum scared the Cacturne and Cacnea, and they turned and ran!

These are obviously very slow Pokémon, yet they displayed an unusually frightening burst of speed to save their lives, disappearing without a trace. Only an injured Emolga was left, holding its head with its left paw, shivering.

”Well done!”

Baimu, who emerged from behind the sand dune, praised, unaware of why the Cacturne and Cacnea were attacking the Emolga, so he only needed to drive them away, there was no need to be harsh.

What if the Emolga did something out of line?

Although it’s nothing more than invading territory, fighting over a water source or food, after all, this is within the animation background. If according to the game’s Illustrated Guide description, it is most likely related to predatory behavior.

He put on the insulated gloves he used earlier to touch Lei Gong, squatted next to the Emolga, which was holding its head and crouching in defense, confirming that this guy’s injuries were not fake.

The little paw on the right was fractured, the wing membrane couldn’t open, no wonder it couldn’t fly.

”It’s okay, I won’t hurt you.”

He said softly, while Aggron crawled out of the pit on guard, to prevent the Cacturne from running to call for reinforcements.

The two partners acted more and more with Telepathy and could do what the other expected without communication.

”Emol...”

The Emolga heard the human voice, slightly lowered its paw to look sideways, and when it saw a human boy with a friendly expression, its tense emotions instantly relaxed, and it then fainted with its eyes rolled back.

Baimu: ”...Faking?”

He gently opened Emolga’s eyelids and also checked its mouth.

Hmm.

Heatstroke.

Not faking it.

”We need to find a way to move to a place with shade and cover.” Baimu picked up the Emolga and spoke to Aggron.

——

Under the shadow of a giant rock.

Inside the tent.

”Emol...”

Feeling the moist sensation from its mouth, Emolga opened its eyes and found a familiar pink, oval-shaped creature holding a bottle cap to feed it water, drop by drop.

Did it make it to the Pokémon Center?

Emolga slightly turned its head and saw the unfamiliar human squatting at the tent entrance, realizing it hadn’t.

”Happy~”

”Awake? Don’t move around, let Blissey bandage you up,”

Baimu turned his head and immediately saw Emolga on the cushion twisting its little face trying to get up, but failing with a frustrated expression.

This guy’s right paw was smeared with medicine and bandaged, making it unable to get up stably.

Besides this most serious injury, there were some minor wounds that were not a problem, and the heatstroke was successfully cured with a medical Essence earlier.

”Emol.”

Emolga looked down at its own shabby state, its cute little face extremely dejected, and then its stomach growled audibly.

Baimu and Blissey exchanged a glance, unable to help but laugh.

A moment later.

Emolga was stuffing delicious Pokémon food into its mouth non-stop, as if starved to death in its past life, while a questioning voice came from the side.

”Why are you in the desert? Were you abandoned? Strayed? Got separated from your Trainer?”

”Emol! Emol!”

The Emolga’s cheeks puffed up to nearly explode, gesticulating and vividly narrating its ordeal.

Through the text explanation from Porygon on his phone, Baimu understood this guy’s situation.

While chasing a wild Flygon with its Trainer, hoping to capture it, they accidentally encountered a strong sandstorm, and they were forced to separate in panic.

”Your Trainer took you to chase a Flygon??”

He looked at his phone, and reconfirmed with the Emolga whether this information was accurate.

”Emol~”

Seeing it nod again and showing a pitiful expression, Baimu couldn’t help but be amazed.

Where is there such a powerful Reverse Attribute Master?

It’s a pity they encountered an irresistible natural disaster.

He began to ask in detail what Emolga’s Trainer looked like and took out a sketchbook to quickly draw based on Porygon’s translated information, but the more he drew, the more peculiar his expression became.

A girl, with slightly dark skin, wearing beige and pink clothes, with extremely fluffy hair, a pair of dual-horse tails, a golden hair tie, and a space big enough to hide a Pokémon like Axew...

”Hiss, is your Trainer named Alice? From Unova Dragon Land?”

Baimu put down the half-drawn sketchbook, asking with a strange expression.

”Emol?”

Upon hearing the Trainer’s name suddenly, the Pokémon food fell from the little paws of Emolga, ”Emol! Emol!”

It nodded frantically, its eyes shining like little stars.

Unexpectedly encountering a familiar face of its Trainer! How wonderful!

”Reverse Attribute Master... it seems your testimony may not be reliable.”

Baimu has a fairly clear understanding of this Emolga’s personality. When it comes to lying, she doesn’t even blink.

He looked at the signal on his phone and said to it, ”You better start praying that your Trainer has their phone with them, and that it’s charged or not broken.”

”Emolga?”

Emolga turned its head in confusion.

Baimu found Wu’s number and dialed it, waving his hand as he said, ”It’s okay, you eat your food. If you’re lucky, you can find your Trainer soon.”

A few seconds later, Wu picked up the call.

”Hello? How come you have time to call me? Can’t beat the Gym matches anymore?”

”Of course not—you’re supposed to know Alice, right?”

”Alice!? Ah! That’s right! She’s traveling in Hoenn now! Did you meet her? Is she next to you? Let her pick up the phone!”

The loud shouting prompted him to hold the phone to Emolga’s ear.

Emolga looked bewildered.

On the other end of the line, Wu spoke excitedly, ”Alice?”

”Emolga?”

”Is that you, Alice?”

”Emolga Emolga?”

”...”

”...”

Baimu took back the phone in time, ”As you can see, Alice isn’t here, but she does have an Emolga.”

”... You really have nothing better to do?”

”I should ask you why you’re so hyped up. Anyway, do you have Alice’s phone number? I need to contact her.”

”That’s all you want? Why didn’t you say so earlier, you should’ve said so...”

”Keep rambling on and I’ll ask Grandma directly.”

”No, please, I beg you.”

The apologetic Wu humbled himself, and Baimu generously forgave him.

It was indeed fortunate that Alice had a mobile phone. Even in later generations, Ash Ketchum often had to contact Dr. Da Mu and Hanako through the video call devices in Pokémon Centers.

Alice, who had traveled with him for so long, was like a wild child. In the later stages of their journey, she watched Ash’s matches from treetops using a tablet, so it was completely understandable if she didn’t have a phone.

But she had one, strangely enough.

Baimu glanced at Emolga, who, perhaps knowing its Trainer had been identified, was now eating away without a care in the world, not even blinking, seemingly indifferent to its fate.

The phone call was made.

Connected, but no one answered.

The second call was made.

Still no answer.

The third call went out.

Still no response.

Could the phone have been lost in a sandstorm too?

He began to contemplate whether he should simply use a Capture Ball to catch Emolga and send it back to Unova Dragon Land, letting its people contact Alice later on their own.

As he was mulling over this, the phone screen suddenly lit up, indicating a callback from Alice.

Baimu quickly pressed the answer button.

”Hello? This is Alice!”

The clear voice similar to that of Aoi Yuuki, an anime voice actress, came through, ”Sorry, I dropped my phone to the bottom level just now...”

Bottom level?

What is she talking about?

He got straight to the point, ”I found your Emolga. Where are you?”

”Emolga!?”

Alice quickly raised her voice, successfully making Emolga, who was absorbed in eating, lift its head, ”Emolga?”

Baimu once again placed the phone next to Emolga’s ear.

”Emolga! Emolga!”

The wing-membraned electric mouse anxiously shouted into the phone.

”Emolga are you okay? It’s so good to hear your voice!”

Alice on the other end sighed in relief, and then suddenly realized something was off, ”Wait a minute, sorry, how did you get my phone number? I don’t recall leaving my number on Emolga...”

”It’s a long story, maybe we should discuss it in person. Where are you now? Should I come to you or will you come to me?” Baimu asked, holding down the anxious Emolga.

Alice replied, ”Of course I would come find you—though I’d love to say that, I’m powerless to do so right now.”

Her voice carried a hint of distress, ”I seem to be trapped in a strange tower.”

”Tower?”
