Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 528: Chapter 397: Dragon Race Civil War

On the sand dune.

At twilight when the sun is setting.

Baimu gazed into the distance and immediately saw the Pokémon Center bathed in the glow of the oasis, with its giant Pokeball sign emitting a soft light.

”We’ve arrived, it’s not a mirage.”

The warm light from the floor-to-ceiling window softened the heat and fatigue in his heart.

”We finally made it! Thank goodness!”

Alice and Fraxure followed behind, hearing these words, they plunged into the sand with tears in their eyes, leaving just enough space to breathe.

The two had journeyed under the scorching sun from afternoon till dusk, in the challenging environment of the desert, which was a great test of endurance.

This fellow had been fooled by mirages twice, sprinting blindly for a long stretch, and then consumed even more energy chasing a crazed Flygon.

Traveling with Baimu for half a day, Alice’s desire to travel alone grew deeper.

Of course.

Traveling with someone wasn’t without its joys; having a companion to chat with on the road made the fatigue much more bearable, completely different from chatting with Pokémon like Aggron.

In their conversation, both sides revealed a lot of personal information to each other—

Strictly speaking, Alice spoke more.

Like Ash Ketchum, whenever she talked to others, she couldn’t help but express her dream of becoming a ”Dragon Master.”

Perhaps she didn’t have this habit before, but after traveling with Ash Ketchum for so long, she unconsciously picked it up.

There’s nothing bad about it.

Except for some annoying little punks and villains, most adults in the world of Pokémon animation appreciate and support others’ dreams, so even if she talks about it all the time, no one would taunt her.

Baimu, who also had goals, would never laugh at her.

Especially since her future is as the Unova Champion, one of the World Championship Eight Masters, the only powerful trainer to reach that level without relying on any system.

In every aspect, her strength is admirable.

But that admiration is limited to her strength only.

”Sorry for the disturbance.”

Baimu strode into the Pokémon Center, his Dragonite carrying the exhausted Alice, whose brow was furrowed.

The inner automatic doors opened, and the cool air conditioning welcomed them.

It was like a spring breeze.

Even Alice, who was usually indifferent to air conditioning, felt a sense of relief from the comfort.

”So comfortable~”

Because the Pokémon Center was located near the desert, Miss Joy here was often quite idle and was very enthusiastic when trainers came around.

Baimu and Alice handed over their Pokémon and sat on the central sofa in the lobby to rest, continuing the conversation they hadn’t finished—

How to learn ”Dragon’s Heart.”

”So the key is to understand and empathize with Dragon-type Pokémon’s feelings, understand their thoughts.”

”Exactly!”

”Isn’t that a kind of vicious cycle though? I want to use Dragon’s Heart to understand and empathize with Dragon-type Pokémon’s feelings, but I have to first understand and empathize with their feelings to do so?”

”Uh... it does sound like a bit of a vicious cycle... ah! I don’t even understand the principles behind it!”

”It’s tough for you, sorry.”

He apologized to Alice, who was frustrated and scratching her head.

It belonged to a talent ability to be analyzed with principles and logic for learning; it would be a wonder if she could come up with anything; it was nice enough that she tried to cooperate.

Baimu was genuinely interested in Dragon’s Heart.

After all, if using the clues, he would likely encounter an elderly, highly experienced Complete Form Dragon Attribute Quasi-God Pokémon next.

Having Dragon’s Heart would quickly allow that Dragon-type Pokémon to understand his feelings and him to understand theirs, benefiting everyone involved.

Otherwise, nurturing a Quasi-God fully grown in all aspects wouldn’t be any easier than raising one from scratch.

Unfortunately, learning Dragon’s Heart might be even harder!

While Baimu felt regret, Alice suddenly suggested, ”Let’s have a battle! Understand Dragon-type Pokémon through battling!”

”Huh?”

He was taken aback.

”A battle!”

Alice repeated, thinking he hadn’t heard her clearly, ”During a battle, the Pokémon and Trainer are as one. Don’t you think that at that moment you can better see what your Pokémon is thinking?”

”This...”

Baimu suddenly thought there was some truth to it.

But if they wanted to battle, it would probably not be feasible tonight; Alice’s Pokémon had been exhausted all day, and she herself was too tired to move, in urgent need of good rest to recover their state.

They agreed to battle the next morning.

At night.

The outside temperature plummeted.

Lazy to cook, Baimu caught a meal at the Pokémon Center’s cafeteria, enjoying Miss Joy’s delightful cooking.

Since coming into money, he rarely stayed at a Pokémon Center and ate at its cafeteria. Normally, he either cooked himself or ate at a restaurant, so this was a pleasant change.

Compared to the lavish Baimu, Alice, who hailed from Dragon Land and the future inheritor of the Shuanglong Gym, was much simpler.

If there was a Pokémon Center, she’d stay there; if not, she’d find a large, Vigorous tree, climbing up, and the tree trunk was her bed, living like some wild animal.

Because of this, she’s often mistaken for a Wild Pokémon and had Pokeballs thrown at her by other Trainers.

She wouldn’t learn from these experiences, getting pelted again and again, and climbing trees repeatedly, occasionally being chased down by Officer Jenny or other authorities.

When asked why, she would answer that the tree was comfortable and free.

She even tried climbing the shrubs of the outside oasis, only to come back shivering from the cold, rubbing her arms to keep warm.
