Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 537: Chapter 401: Transformers 2

”Pa~”

Porygon was quite satisfied but didn’t forget the enemy that had ambushed them—

The boss of the Valley of Steel, Steelix.

”Roar...”

Steelix turned its head to look at Baimu and Porygon on the high slope, just as surprised by their reaction. It had expected them to crash into it at such a high speed.

It took a deep breath, preparing to unleash Dragon Breath.

Porygon’s eyes lit up slightly, [Texture 2] was ready.

Skarmory and the Magneton had somehow already gathered nearby, surrounding the two with unfriendly gazes.

Baimu gripped two Pokeballs, appearing composed, showing no signs of panic despite being surrounded.

”—Stop!!”

A hurried shout interrupted the impending group battle.

The plump old man who had been giving orders before ran up to Porygon with his arms raised while standing on an evolved Magnezone, yelling, ”Stop! Everyone stop!”

Steelix and the surrounding Magneton, Skarmory, and other Pokémon exchanged glances and retracted their attack stances.

With a sigh of relief, Tie Xuan was about to say something when a voice came from behind.

”As expected, it’s Mr. Tie Xuan, why are you in the Valley of Steel?”

He turned his head and said, ”That should be my line. Are you okay? Any injuries?”

”No injuries.”

”That’s good then. There should be danger signs outside the Valley of Steel. Why did you break in? Look how dangerous it is!”

”Danger signs?”

Baimu recalled and looked at Porygon, ”Were there any?”

”Pa.”

Porygon shook its head, indicating it hadn’t seen any either.

”None? Impossible... Which direction did you come from?”

Tie Xuan looked skeptical but waved his hand before an explanation could be given, ”Well, since you’re already here, saying those things is useless. I’ll take you out later. The wild Pokémon here are very hostile to outsiders. If you stay, they might attack you.”

He then turned to Steelix and said something.

The wild Pokémon of the Valley of Steel, led by Steelix, glanced at each other and silently turned to leave.

Baimu, realizing that Tie Xuan must have some connection with the wild Pokémon in the Valley of Steel, wondered whether it was because of the special magnetic field there or if something else had happened.

Both are possible!

”Follow me.”

Tie Xuan gestured and said, ”Just in time, my Magneton has evolved successfully. Are you heading to Mauville City? I can give you a ride.”

”Hmm, that would be appreciated.”

Baimu nodded in gratitude.

They were only fifty kilometers from Mauville City, but it was already three in the afternoon. He had originally planned to push on to Mauville City before resting, so of course, he wouldn’t refuse a free ride.

The two walked down the slope along the dusty road, and the easygoing Tie Xuan started chatting with him.

Magnezone and Porygon followed behind, glancing at each other without communication.

”I see, you’re planning to challenge Mauville Gym. That’s quite the coincidence.” Tie Xuan laughed heartily, ”You have a good eye! Just don’t run into dangerous places next time!”

”Okay.”

Baimu responded simply.

After about three minutes, a hoverbike with Manectric colors and many Manectric elements came into view.

”How is it? Cool, right? This is my most beloved ride!” Tie Xuan said with pride.

”It is cool.”

Baimu couldn’t help but think of the hoverbike assigned by the Quicksand Team, which he hadn’t used because it wasn’t as convenient as the hoverbike.

He recalled Porygon and expressed his thanks.

Beside him, Tie Xuan recalled his Magnezone while saying, ”Is this Pokémon called Porygon?”

”You know of it?”

Baimu was surprised, as he was used to others being unaware of Porygon, so it was quite unexpected to see someone recognize it.

Tie Xuan couldn’t help but laugh, ”Of course! When I was rebuilding part of Mauville City, I considered integrating Porygon into the city management system with Dr. Akihabara but eventually decided against it.”

”Decided against it? Why?”

”Because we found a more suitable Pokémon.”

Tie Xuan patted the car door, which automatically opened without needing a handle or key.

At the same time, a slightly electromagnetic voice sounded, ”Welcome back, Mr. Tie Xuan~”

”This voice is—”

Baimu was moved and stooped to look inside the car, immediately seeing a familiar orange-red face on the central console screen, ”Rotom!?”

”That’s right!”

Tie Xuan grinned, showing his white teeth, ”The Rotom intelligent central control system, perfect for a Gym Leader of the Electric Attribute Gym, right?”

”It truly is...”

He couldn’t help but agree with him.

But Porygon losing out to Rotom... Don’t take it to heart.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Baimu gently shook the Pokeball containing Porygon, thinking how strongly the scriptwriter must have intervened, even swaying Tie Xuan’s thoughts.

However.

”Why didn’t you choose artificial intelligence at that time?” he curiously asked.

In the animated world, various artificial intelligences are highly developed, from Hitron’s robot clone Hitroyte to the virtual intelligence of the villain Jello in the Crown of the Sky, or even high-tech robots in some developed cities.

”Artificial intelligence?”

Tie Xuan grasped the steering wheel and was momentarily surprised before understanding, ”Ah! You might not be from Hoenn, so you wouldn’t know about the artificial intelligence turmoil in Larus City. Although I personally want to use artificial intelligence, other people in Mauville City have concerns.”

Larus City?

Baimu quickly recalled the incident in Larus City.

In short, Deoxys 1 wanted to reunite with its companion Deoxys 2, but the commotion upon descending angered Rayquaza. The three caused a big mess in Larus City, accidentally damaging its intelligent defense system and causing the artificial intelligence cube riot.

Of course, with the efforts of Ash and several supporting characters, the matter was successfully resolved.

But such incidents also led others to distrust artificial intelligence... People would trust Pokémon but not artificial intelligence.

Tie Xuan seemed very proud of the [Rotom City Management System] and continued explaining related content to Baimu along the way.

Initially uninterested, Porygon couldn’t help but feel irritated as the talk went on.

Tie Xuan happened to mention that they had initially considered Porygon.

If not mentioned, it wouldn’t have felt anything.

A restless Porygon caused the Pokeball to shake slightly.

Seeing this, Baimu politely responded to Tie Xuan while putting it deep into his backpack and wrapping it with a towel, preventing it from hearing—

They couldn’t possibly fight Tie Xuan, who was still driving.

Best to be oblivious.

—

Tie Xuan drove fast.

Even weaving through dense forests most of the time, it took less than an hour for Baimu to see the blurred outer contour of Mauville City.

Obviously, this had a lot to do with Rotom’s control capabilities.

Like many bustling cities, Mauville City had numerous skyscrapers, but unlike others, at its center stood a massive square-shaped building.

If described, it would be correct to call it a small city.

”The Mauville City within... Mauville City?”

Baimu murmured to himself.

Tie Xuan proudly said, ”Yes! This is the Li Mauville built according to my original plan—a brand new Mauville City, the City of Joy!”

Without a doubt, the square-shaped building in front of Baimu was the Mauville City from the game, but the small game version couldn’t accommodate the enormous population depicted in the animation.

Thus, it transformed into something akin to a civic center building—still large but more reasonable in scale.

The Rotom City Management System, per Tie Xuan, was specifically for managing this super-large structure.

”That’s impressive.”

He couldn’t hide his amazement.
