Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 539: Chapter 402: Champion? Celestial King? (2)

The large and spacious indoor district came into view.

On both sides were shops selling various goods or providing services. As one walked deeper, the Central Park at the central position of Li Mauville’s square structure could be seen.

Even with the crowds coming and going, it was still impressive how vast this place was.

Simply put, it was actually a super large mall, only it had much more diverse facilities than ordinary malls.

Mr. Baimu picked up a free introduction booklet placed beside the passageway and briefly flipped through it.

Before coming here, he actually had researched information related to Li Mauville, but experiencing it in person was indeed different from viewing it on a screen, and Li Mauville indeed gave him such a feeling.

With Li Mauville being so impressive, what would the true ”high-tech city” of Larus City be like?

He couldn’t help but be a bit curious.

”Let’s go to the Pokémon Center first.”

Mr. Baimu put away the free introduction booklet and headed straight toward the Central Park. The Pokémon Center was conveniently located nearby.

Li Mauville was large, but the roads were not particularly complicated; they were all straightforward without needing to twist around.

After a short while.

He arrived in front of the Pokémon Center, and as the automatic doors opened, a bright electronic voice immediately echoed from inside.

”Welcome to Mauville City’s Pokémon Center Rotom~”

Even here!

Rotom was really everywhere!

Mr. Baimu silently complained, his gaze falling upon the large screen above Miss Joy’s counter in the deepest part of the hall, where a grinning Rotom occupied the entire interface with its face.

Rotomi (computer Rotom) prototype?

”Miss Joy, leave it to you.”

He handed over the seven Pokeballs he had.

Generally, normal trainers would only have six Pokémon, and any additional Pokémon would be automatically transferred to the location of the person who issued their Illustrated Guide.

However, since Mr. Baimu received his guide from the Milotic, the transfer location was not specifically set, so naturally, they wouldn’t be transferred out.

There was no need to send them back to Pyrite Town; it wasn’t like he couldn’t take care of them.

He stored Steelix because its size made it inconvenient, and there was not enough indoor space to keep it, so it couldn’t stay in the Pokeball all day long. At least Aggron and the others could come out for some fresh air and rest at night.

He chose an empty sofa to sit down and waited for the daily check-up to end.

Thanks to Tie Xuan’s speed, the sky was still early, and once he found a place to stay, he would book a challenge at the Gym for tomorrow, send fossils to the De Wen Company, and then head to the Mauville Food Square for a good meal...

While Mr. Baimu was daydreaming, some excited voices reached his ears.

”Did you hear? Near Central Park, Tetsuya is battling against Celestial King Bonnie! If we go now, we can get a good spot!”

Tetsuya?

This name sounded a bit familiar.

He was taken aback for a moment, a strange, cowboy-like figure gradually emerged in his mind.

It was strange because this figure was a Meowth wearing a felt hat, a red triangle scarf, and a pair of boots.

”So it’s him.”

Mr. Baimu suddenly realized that Tetsuya was Ash Ketchum’s fierce rival during the Ever Grande Conference, and his partner included a Booty Cat Meowth, which, despite being unevolved, possessed the power to defeat the Hoenn version Pikachu.

Ultimately, Tetsuya not only beat Ash Ketchum but also won the championship of that Ever Grande Conference.

And now he’s battling Bonnie...

Champion Alliance?

Unlikely.

With nothing else to do and curiosity sparked, Mr. Baimu decided to join the fun.

The battle location didn’t require deliberate searching because the news of the conference champion Tetsuya battling Celestial King Bonnie had already spread far and wide. The crowd had almost filled up by the time he rushed over.

Luckily, his height, even standing among people around 1.7 meters tall, allowed him to have a relatively clear view.

He saw, on the distant field, two trainers standing on either end, one being a young man with brown hair and a green windbreaker, and the other being a noblewoman with blond hair wearing a violet dress.

Within the field, a Meowth wearing a felt hat and boots was dodging fragments of ice spewn by Glalie and continuously trying to get closer to it, while the ground was already covered with a layer of visible white frost, seemingly not affecting Meowth’s movements.

The anti-slip capability of these boots was impressive!

Mr. Baimu raised an eyebrow; honestly, if not for this Meowth’s special situation, it could be considered cheating to some extent, as boots weren’t among the special items allowed by the Alliance for Pokémon to carry onto the battlefield.

However, it’s believed Tetsuya would have reported this to the event organizers before participating in any competitions.

”Iron Tail!”

With Tetsuya’s shout, Meowth successfully closed in on Glalie, suddenly leaping up and spinning its body rapidly forward, allowing its metal-glossy tail to slam hard onto the opponent’s head.

Bam!

The visible tremor represented the terrifying power of this strike!

But Glalie hit by the Iron Tail didn’t even flinch; its pitch-black horns lit up with ice-blue lightning, gathering into a shining ball in front of its forehead.

”Freeze-Dry.”

The crowd’s noise almost drowned out Bonnie’s voice, but Mr. Baimu, through her lip movements and his keen ears, caught her command.

In the next moment.

A bizarre blue-white-purple beam surged out from the light ball, spraying onto the dodging Meowth, quickly freezing it into a massive ice ball.

”Meowth!”

Tetsuya’s tense voice was clearly audible, ”Break out!”

”Gyro Ball.”

Bonnie calmly said this word, still in a low voice.

”Ah-nee!”

The ferocious-looking Glalie spun like a gyro, its protruding horns lighting up with silver, forming a bright silver ring, and fiercely launched the frozen Meowth!

Bang!

The ice ball flew in a parabolic trajectory, abruptly landing and shattering into countless ice blocks, yet the freed Meowth collapsed onto the ground, its hat falling and its eyes replaced by knockout-indicating black spirals.

Tetsuya sighed, ”I lost. Thank you for the guidance, Celestial King Bonnie.”

He recalled Meowth back into the Pokeball.

It’s over?

That was fast!

Mr. Baimu was quite disappointed; judging by the field’s condition, Meowth and Glalie had just begun their duel, and who would have expected it to end so quickly? It was a one-on-one battle all along.

It made sense; roadside battles are usually one-on-one, fast-paced and straightforward.

But Tetsuya didn’t seem to have grown much; that Glalie might be one of Bonnie’s ace Pokémon, but Meowth, which could defeat Hoenn version Pikachu, losing so easily...

Rationally speaking, it’s a bit unreasonable.

And after Tetsuya stepped down, more trainers rushed forward to request a battle with Bonnie.

Unexpectedly, Bonnie agreed to it.

Is it a special teaching day like Kona’s?

Mr. Baimu’s mind began to race as he turned and headed to the Pokémon Center. Though the chance of battling the Four Heavenly Kings was slim with the current popularity, if possible, he still hoped to challenge one to assess his current strength.

If not the Four Heavenly Kings, then at least have a match with Tetsuya.

Just as he stepped back into the Pokémon Center, he heard his name being called.

”Mr. Baimu! Please come to retrieve your Pokémon! Mr. Baimu! Please come to retrieve...”

The source of the sound was a speaker on a small cart, with Nurse Blissey standing behind it, arms crossed and right foot tapping on the ground.

What on earth! A broadcast call?

”Oops.”

Mr. Baimu quickly approached the cart, apologizing to Nurse Blissey, ”I’m sorry, I rushed out to join the fun just now.”

”Happy!”

Nurse Blissey sternly rebuked him once before allowing him to reclaim his Pokémon.

Honestly, this operation left him perplexed; in other cities, Pokémon Centers usually required only a coupon or Trainer Card at the counter to retrieve Pokémon. Who would have thought Mauville City would use a calling system!

Let’s hope no one recognizes me.

Mr. Baimu prayed silently while retrieving all his Pokeballs, only to hear a voice next to him.

”Mr. Baimu? Excuse me, are you the Mr. Baimu who won three consecutive matches in the Gorgeous Competition?”

Big trouble!

He reluctantly forced a smile and turned his head, only to find it was none other than Tetsuya who had battled Bonnie earlier, ”Um, I am...”

”Fantastic! I’m Tetsuya! My sister is a huge fan of you and Mawile! Please, you must give me an autograph!”

Tetsuya’s eyes lit up, attempting to grab Mr. Baimu’s right hand.

But he dodged it easily.
