Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 525: Chapter 395: Armaldo? (Part 2)

When passing the previously triggered Pokémon Stone Statue position, Baimu’s heart skipped a beat, but the wall had no reaction.

Yes.

Hydreigon safely flew over, even made its way to the end of the tunnel and back, bobbing all the way.

”Do the traps change positions?”

Baimu asked Alice.

Alice shook her head cluelessly, ”I don’t know.”

”...Shall we have Dragonite try it once?” He patted Hydreigon flying back, and looked at Dragonite who seemed a bit defiant.

Hmm? This guy seems to have a strong competitive spirit against Hydreigon?

”Sure, go ahead.”

Alice nodded, ”Dragonite, please!”

With Ash Ketchum’s approval, the already impatient Dragonite shot forward, not flying slowly but zooming towards the end of the tunnel at a speed far surpassing Hydreigon.

”Too fast!”

Baimu’s expression changed, watching intently as numerous red lights lit up where Dragonite flew, with one Ancient Armor Stone Statue after another emerging from the walls, almost filling the passage.

”This is big trouble! Get it back quickly!”

He shouted, instructing Hydreigon to attack the nearest Pokémon Stone Statues, ”Dragon’s Pulse!”

”Hoo Ha!”

Hydreigon’s three mouths opened wide, spewing three-colored Dragon Flame that turned into roaring Energy Flying Dragon and blasted forward, smashing the nearest Ancient Armor Stone Statues into debris, with many behind crumbling too.

Baimu sighed slightly in relief, it seemed like the Ancient Armor Stone Statues were numerous but relatively easy to deal with—

Provided everything went his way.

Because Alice and Fraxure were rushing towards the passage, shouting as they went, ”Dragonite! Come back!”

”You two come back too!”

Baimu was astonished, completely not expecting them to rush in.

Despite their agile movements like monkeys, easily surpassing many Ancient Armor Stone Statues, it also hindered Hydreigon’s ability to normally use long-range attack moves.

”——No time to overthink, let’s rush through and use the drop-off trap to return to the first floor!”

He quickly thought of the solution, jumped onto Hydreigon’s back, and chased after Alice and Fraxure.

——

Five minutes later.

First floor.

Baimu watched the one person two dragons kneeling in front of him, where Alice and Fraxure hung their heads awkwardly, and Dragonite furrowed its brows with a nonchalant expression.

”If this keeps up I’ll really kick you all out. I’d rather venture alone than have teammates who only mess things up.”

”I’m sorry...”

”Oh noo oh noo~”

”And you? Have you learned?”

He looked at Dragonite, which while kneeling was about as tall as him, possibly even taller.

But under his gaze, Dragonite felt somewhat guilty, not daring to look him in the eye. Alice and Fraxure nearby were both surprised, knowing Dragonite was always tough and fierce before strangers.

Now it’s avoiding eye contact?

”Your answer? I need to hear it!”

Baimu raised his voice.

”Roar.”

”I can’t hear you!”

”Roar!”

Dragonite shouted angrily at him.

Baimu’s expression remained unchanged, ”I hope you keep your promises.”

He’s not afraid of Lei Gong, why fear a little Dragonite?

Back to the point.

Hydreigon flying over doesn’t trigger the traps, but Dragonite flying over does indicate there is a certain difference between them.

What is it?

Based on Baimu’s guess, he thinks it might be color.

Hydreigon’s body is always covered in black fur, and theoretically, black does not reflect any light or very low reflectivity, causing the trap-emitting light to receive no feedback.

He came back to the second-floor passage and opened his phone’s camera function, through the screen he saw the seemingly empty walls now constantly flickering with red light.

”Infrared...is it?”

Baimu couldn’t be sure, and let Alice take a look.

The latter looked at the screen with flickering red dots, asking very curiously, ”What is this?”

”A special sensing light, but I’m not sure.”

He shook his head, pulled a black raincoat from his bag, ”But I might have found a way to safely get through, wait here, I’ll go try.”

Alice appeared puzzled, then saw Baimu and Hydreigon heading towards the passage, ”Eh? Eh—wait!”

Didn’t they just say not to take reckless risks?

But soon she noticed Baimu and Hydreigon safely passed through the passage up to the end without triggering any traps, bringing no Pokémon Stone Statues forth.

The two even wandered around casually.

”Why?” Alice was full of question marks on her forehead, Dragonite and Fraxure were the same.

”This one’s a long story...”

Baimu roughly explained the reason why black is black, along with light, infrared, ultraviolet, etc., making Alice more confused and overwhelmed.

”Foundation education really is important, Miss Alice, must have skipped class often, right?”

He sighed and said.

Alice blushed, ”That’s because class was really boring!”

”I can tell you’re not the kind to sit quietly in your seat.” Baimu shook his head, took a second black raincoat from his bag, ”Put Dragonite away, then follow my instructions to move.”

Fraxure, being small in size, can cautiously avoid the ”infrared beams”.

”Oh.”

Alice nodded.

Truth be told, having learned bad habits from Ash Ketchum, she recently relied on recklessness for adventure, and her keen sixth sense for escaping danger. Overcoming obstacles in an orderly and methodical manner was a first.

Quite novel.

Shortly after.

The two and the two Pokémon safely passed through the second and third floors, arriving at the stairs leading to the fourth floor, the top.

Alice intended to go up, but was stopped by Baimu.

”Wait, you also said those statues chasing you on the top floor wouldn’t disappear, right? Maybe they’re waiting for you now.”

”No way?”

”Better safe than sorry, observing is never wrong.”

He cautiously peered into the top floor, realizing the light was more ample than he imagined, not only was there light from all directions but also overhead.

Furthermore, the top floor was no longer twisted passages but a vast space, with a stage at the center where Alice’s backpack was prominently placed.

”I see your bag, and no statues around.”

Baimu turned to tell Alice, ”You said there were no Pokémon Stone Statues up there, but when you took the fossil suddenly a bunch activated?”

”Uh-huh.”

The latter nodded furiously.

It seemed Phantom Tower was built to guard these two fossils... Are the fossils so valuable to create such a tower located in Alternate Space?

Maybe that’s how it was in ancient times.

Phantom Tower clearly wasn’t a modern creation.

The two arrived at the top floor, Baimu first used his phone to scan the surroundings, seeing no red dots.

It appeared that the top floor trap triggers when the fossils are taken.

He walked to the stage, without touching the luggage, and told Alice not to touch it, searching for inscriptions or the like.

Impossible for such a large tower not to have ancient text—

Turned out not a single one.

Baimu circled the stage seven or eight times, finding no text, even scanned the walls with a flashlight up close, finding no inscriptions.

”Tsk, my first ancient mystery exploration gives me an unsolvable mystery?”

He snapped photos with his camera, wanting a souvenir.

Sadly, dismantling the Pokémon Stone Statues wouldn’t drop anything to collect, otherwise collecting might come in handy in the future.

”That’s all for now.”

Baimu put the camera away regretfully, turned to Alice saying, ”Get ready to leave.”

”Okay.”

Alice nodded, reaching for her luggage.

”Wait!”

He stopped the eager Dragon Tamer, releasing Porygon from its ball, ”I have a better, safer method.”
