Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 518: Chapter 392: Phantom Tower

Route 111.

Baimu arrived here a day later.

As an extremely unique location in the Hoenn Region, only Route 111 has a vast desert that is completely different from the Hoenn style of blooming flowers and lush green trees.

Occasionally, massive sandstorms arise here, hindering travelers from progressing further.

However, there’s no requirement like in the games where one must wear goggles to traverse the desert; choosing to bypass it would mean taking at least an extra day of unnecessary detour.

In the animation, deep within the desert lies the Mirazu Kingdom, an extreme worshipper of Togepi, independent from the mundane world. To become the king here, one must possess a Togepi, leading to the event where Xiaoxia’s Togepi evolved into Togetic and left the team.

Interestingly, the Mirazu Kingdom has a magical ”Mirage,” which appears as an illusion but is actually a real secret realm, inhabited by numerous Togepi who grow by spiritually connecting with the people on the ground.

Once human hearts turn evil, the environment within the Togepi Paradise of the Mirage deteriorates rapidly, causing the Togepi to fall ill or become haggard.

Incredibly magical.

If we talk about the games, this desert becomes even more intriguing.

In addition to places like the Phantom Tower, at its deepest lies a desert ruin, where solving the mystery of the Announcement Stone Chamber on Route 134 allows one to encounter the Legendary Giant Regirock sleeping inside...

Provided it hasn’t been captured by Shendai.

Remember that the animation never explained where Shendai’s Regi Trio came from, only mentioned that Regice came from a certain ruin.

”Head over there.”

Wrapped in layers like a mummy, Baimu set down his binoculars, gazing at the sandstorm obscuring the sky in the distance—a terrifying natural disaster that evokes awe. According to the travel guide on his phone, crossing the sandstorm would lead to the Mirazu Kingdom nestled within the canyon.

Though called a kingdom, it’s actually the size of a town. Compared to the overhead area maps available online, it’s not even as large as old Pyrite Town.

The only thing that attracts him to that place is Xiaoxia’s Togetic, but there’s a chance it resides in the Mirage itself, making an encounter impossible.

Besides, it doesn’t know him; venturing into the sandstorm is pointless.

”Let’s go.”

Baimu shook his head and decided to give up, speaking to the nearby Aggron.

”Grrraa~”

The massive monster clad in silver heavy armor responded, scanning the rolling sand dunes before looking down at its legs and tail slightly buried in the sand.

Although it was quite adapted to this environment, the hot sand streaming across its body felt not only not scorching but rather comfortable. If given a choice, it would prefer to tread in mountainous forested areas.

The temperature is too high.

Aggron swished its sturdy tail, well aware that its body surface was baked hot by the sun, and getting too close to the Trainer might scorch him.

Better to keep a bit of distance.

It was about to follow the Trainer’s steps when it suddenly halted, gazing towards a depression surrounded by towering sand dunes far off—an unusual disturbance in the heat-twisted air caught its eye. ”Grrraa!”

”What’s wrong?”

Baimu turned his head, following Aggron’s gaze, and took out the binoculars from his pocket for a closer look. ”Ha? Emolga!?”

He displayed an expression of surprise.

From his angle and location, he could clearly see what was happening within the depression—

A humanoid Cacturne was leading two spherical Cacnea in a pummeling of an Emolga whose body exhibited wounds. The latter faced a dire situation, repeatedly trying to take flight but always failing.

Why is an Emolga from the Unova Region appearing in the desert?

Abandoned? Separated from its Trainer?

”Go, it’s already beaten like this, can’t just turn a blind eye.”

Baimu sprinted in the direction of the struggling Emolga, believing that doing good deeds helps gather favorable karma, needed to open skill boxes and simulators which require a certain level of luck.

”Grrraa!”

Aggron let out a muffled roar, its gigantic form burrowing beneath the sand heading towards the target like a shark, clearly showing that digging would grant more speed compared to running on the sand surface.

And confused the enemies about the situation.

Indeed.

As the desert violently quaked, the Cacturne and Cacnea immediately became panicked, frantically searching for the reason behind the tremors.

”Shabop!” ”Nokah!”

Taking advantage of the reprieve, the Emolga attempted to escape, but the injuries to its wings and dizziness kept it from flying high, causing it to fall onto the scorching sand, wincing in pain.

”Ughmo...”

Meanwhile, the Cacturne and Cacnea finally noticed the intruder—a bulge of sand was rapidly approaching!

”Nokah!”

Acting as the leader, the Cacturne decisively directed its Cacnea subordinates to launch an attack on the sand mound!

Thud-thud-thud-thud!!!

The three Pokémon were like wielders of machine guns, incessantly firing countless shiny green arrows at the rising sand mound, kicking up plumes of dust while the piercing sounds threatened to burst eardrums.

Yet, without a doubt, Bug Attribute physical moves are ineffective against a steel giant.

”Grrraa!!”

A thunderous roar echoed.

Aggron leapt out from the sand with a bang, its massive form akin to a mountain blocking the sun, casting a vast shadow that left the Cacturne and Cacnea visibly terrified.

Then, its metal maw capable of biting through steel beams opened like a jet engine, as orange-red flames surged forth like roaring waves!
