System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Tian Zhiliang just took a few glances and started scratching his head.

After a few more minutes, Tian Zhiliang turned and left the operating room, his cheerful expression gone.

As he left the operating room, Tian Zhiliang still muttered, rubbing his chin, ”Is Lu Cheng really here for the probation assessment?”

”Or is he here to stir things up?”

Amateurs watch the excitement, professionals watch the technique.

Regarding Lu Cheng’s debridement and suturing, Tian Zhiliang not only couldn’t find any flaws, but sometimes he even felt that Lu Cheng was putting on a performance, a standard demonstration of debridement and suturing.

This kind of basic skill, he rarely saw even in other directors at the hospital.

After thinking for a while, Tian Zhiliang thought of the recent rumors in the hospital and became even more certain, there’s no smoke without fire.

Behind the big name lies real substance, Lu Cheng might truly be something, otherwise why would he take on surgeries that even the Hepatobiliary Surgery can’t handle?

And that isn’t hearsay or exagerrated claims.

After all, the nature of that surgery was extremely special, and no one would dare cooperate with Lu Cheng to put on an act.

Yet Lu Cheng, in such circumstances, stepped up, and completed the surgery methodically.

With that, Tian Zhiliang had a lot to consider.

...

Lu Cheng noticed when Tian Zhiliang left during the procedure, but he didn’t call him back.

Instead, the patient asked, ”Doctor, why did Director Tian leave?”

”Your condition is relatively simple, a routine case. Director Tian confirmed that my handling of it isn’t problematic, so there’s no need to dwell on it,” Lu Cheng explained.

He continued, ”Don’t move, just two more stitches and it’ll be fine.”

”Later you will get a tetanus shot and some medication, and then you can go home.”

”The wound isn’t that large.”

The patient, a woman nearing forty, said, ”Thank you, Dr. Lu, I just accidentally fell down the stairs and scraped against a nail.”

”I see,” Lu Cheng replied.

”Ma’am, in this situation, I wouldn’t recommend cosmetic sutures, as the original wound isn’t smooth.”

”If you choose cosmetic sutures, you’d not only need to go to the operating room, but also have the incision revised, which would increase soft tissue damage — it’s not worth it.”

”You see, the suturing result now is decent,” Lu Cheng planned to let the patient take a look.

However, the injury was on the outer backside of her right arm, right at her blind spot, so she couldn’t see it: ”Doctor, I can’t see it.”

”No problem, I’ll ask a nurse from our hospital to take a picture for you to see later.”

”In such cases, as long as the post-operative wound doesn’t get wet or infected, the recovery prognosis is quite good...” Lu Cheng reassured with a smile.

Soon, Lu Cheng managed to discharge the patient.

Afternoon, 1:40 PM.

While Tian Zhiliang was still taking a nap in the lounge, the door was urgently knocked open.

”Director Tian, there’s a car accident injury, and the accompanying doctor said there’s femoral artery damage...” the young nurse’s voice was anxious.

Upon hearing this, Tian Zhiliang immediately felt tense, quickly got out of bed, and ran out, even neglecting to put on his shoes properly.

The Emergency Department doesn’t conduct specialized surgeries, but the emergency bleeding control for femoral artery injuries is one of the essential skills for the department.

This is a life-threatening condition with a significant mortality rate.

However, when Tian Zhiliang arrived at the rescue room, he found that Lu Cheng was already on either side of the rescue bed with a colleague from the department.

The attending physician in their department was the assistant, and Lu Cheng in command had already stabilized the bleeding. Furthermore, Lu Cheng had promptly opened the groin’s wound and expertly and calmly inserted hemostatic forceps.

The clamping sound of the hemostatic forceps was as if forcibly closing the gates of the just-opened hell.

After doing so, Lu Cheng checked again and said, ”The bleeding from the femoral artery is temporarily stabilized, but internal conditions need further examination.”

”The patient’s vital signs are stable enough. After establishing a venous channel, let’s take him to the CT room, and then consult with Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, and Orthopedics!”

”Brother Hong, what do you think?” Lu Cheng sought Liang Jianhong’s opinion.

At this moment, Liang Jianhong was clearly a bit flustered and had lost his stand, mindlessly replying, ”I think that’s fine.”

It was unclear whether he was frightened or overwhelmed by Lu Cheng’s operation.

Lu Cheng turned and saw Tian Zhiliang, immediately giving way: ”Director Tian, you’re here, please take a look first.”

Of course, Tian Zhiliang needed to take a look, as it was a matter of life and death for the patient.

In the Emergency Department, people can die, but handling a death is relatively cumbersome!

After putting on sterile gloves, Tian Zhiliang examined the wound four or five times, noticing that not only was the bleeding controlled but also the previous bloodstains were meticulously cleaned by Lu Cheng.

While the current wound still had some oozing, it no longer obstructed the view.

”What’s the blood pressure?” Tian Zhiliang asked.

”105/61!” responded a nurse, ”The venous channel is established!”

Tian Zhiliang promptly replied: ”Start colloid infusion.”

”Continue monitoring, send to CT, and consult with General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Orthopedics.”

”Liang Jianhong, accompany the patient to the CT room for examination; I’ll make the call.” Without resting assured, Tian Zhiliang added another instruction.

Liang Jianhong, who was initially looking for the phone, immediately put it down upon hearing this, quickly pushing the bed out of the rescue room with a nurse, while another nurse urgently paved the way.

Meanwhile, Lu Cheng stood aside, slowly removing his blood-stained gloves and began washing his hands.

When Tian Zhiliang looked at him with a complex expression, Lu Cheng’s expression remained unchanged, explaining simply, ”Director Tian, there are four hemostatic forceps in total inside, three for bleeding control, and one for separating tissues — didn’t have time to remove it!”

Tian Zhiliang nodded, now with a serious expression and tone, completely lacking the previous elder brotherly air: ”Alright, I’ll inform the specialty doctors then.”

”Dr. Lu, please take a rest. I’ll handle the rest.”

As an accompanying doctor, Lu Cheng naturally sought to undertake more tasks and said, ”Director Tian, I can help write the medical record and request consultations.”

”Very well!” Tian Zhiliang was thoroughly calmed, not daring to underestimate Lu Cheng in the slightest.

Being able to control bleeding so efficiently in such a short time, he shouldn’t be seen as an ordinary junior doctor or a ’networking doctor’!

Is he part of the personnel selection for the probation assessment?

Yes!

But also a master.
