System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Of course, Chen Xiong quickly calmed down and curiously looked at Lu Cheng.

With such good grades, instead of choosing orthopedics, Lu Cheng picked emergency surgery. Others are bound to laugh.

Given this choice, those originally considering emergency surgery might change their minds as Lu Cheng’s competition will be less fierce!

”Lu Cheng, your training direction is orthopedics. Which position would you like to choose? We currently have the following positions...” Several people verified Lu Cheng’s identity information and asked him to sign before bringing up the positions.

”Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, emergency surgery,” Lu Cheng stated clearly.

Lu Cheng’s answer left many people stunned.

Emergency surgery is considered undesirable; even Lu Cheng, ranking first in the surgical group, chose emergency surgery. What’s going on?

Unlike the gossiping bystanders, many of the orthopedic candidates felt Lu Cheng was crazy but were also relieved.

With Lu Cheng not choosing orthopedics, the competition became much weaker.

”Are you sure, Lu Cheng? Your scores look really good,” the teacher responsible for register-checking reminded again, clearly surprised by Lu Cheng’s choice.

”I’m sure, teacher. Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, emergency surgery,” Lu Cheng replied.

Upon hearing this reply, he quickly locked in the selection for emergency surgery and entered Lu Cheng’s exam number.

Meanwhile, those ranked lower in the surgical group felt a panic arise.

”What should we do... He chose emergency surgery, so we’ll have no choice but to compete with him.”

”Is this guy insane, ranking first but choosing emergency surgery? That’s solid.”

”No idea, just hope some fool still picks emergency surgery...”

Lu Cheng, ranking first in the surgical group, chose emergency surgery. His total score is 176 points, which is fifty points ahead of the lowest-ranked person.

The practical and accompanying assessments are each worth one hundred points, similar to the two theory exams. In this scenario, to overturn things, they’d have to score fifty more points than Lu Cheng.

Everyone being specialists, this basics is basically impossible.

As Lu Cheng walked away, many looked at him with differing expressions of shock, relief, and confusion.

After Lu Cheng sat down, Chen Xiong asked, ”Lu Cheng, what were you thinking? Choosing emergency surgery with those scores?”

”Brother Xiong, isn’t emergency surgery a safer bet with those scores?” Lu Cheng smiled lightly.

”True enough. No matter how you flip it around, it’s hard to reverse this,” Chen Xiong nodded.

Chen Xiong, unsurprisingly, chose urology.

...

After job selection ended, Chen Xiong and Lu Cheng returned together. Chen Xiong drove, while Lu Cheng came in his own car.

”Lu Cheng, let’s grab a meal together. It’s a hassle you brought me back,” Chen Xiong proposed proactively upon arriving at the Century Home District in Long County.

”No, no, Brother Xiong, I’ve already reported to my family about the meal. Let’s do it next time if possible.”

”I’m on my way home anyway, no need to be so polite,” waved Lu Cheng.

”Brother Xiong, I’m heading back first then.”

Chen Xiong nodded, ”Alright, Lu Cheng, then see you this weekend. I’ll fill up your tank and cover the highway fees then, let’s make it a deal.”

”My wife crashed my car, sent it to the 4S store for repairs.”

Lu Cheng drove off immediately: ”As long as your wife is unhurt, it’s all good. The car’s insured, no big deal.”

...

After parting ways with Chen Xiong, Lu Cheng hurried back home.

It wasn’t that Lu Cheng didn’t want to eat with Chen Xiong, but Mu Nanshu came over for dinner today and was still waiting.

If Lu Cheng agreed but then went to meet someone else, his parents might keep calling him.

Lu Cheng arrived home around seven: ”Mom, go ahead and eat, don’t wait for me.”

Tian Hui replied: ”Called when you said you were leaving, and it’s not late. Xiao Shu insisted on waiting.”

”Since you’re here now, let’s eat. Xiao Shu must be starving.”

Mu Nanshu blushed slightly: ”Auntie, I ate too early for lunch today. Really, it’s okay after having some fruit.”

”Your stomach’s growling, how is that okay?” Tian Hui chuckled.

”Let’s eat, let’s eat,” Lu Nanjia knew Tian Hui occasionally spoke without thinking, and quickly diffused the scene.

...

Xiangzhou, Ji City, inside the Jinhong Imperial View District.

Li Yuanlin was on the phone: ”Yes, Uncle, that’s the situation now. I don’t understand why the top scorer chose emergency surgery.”

”I really had no choice, I ranked third to last. All other positions are taken by those ahead.”

”As for the other spot, I know someone’s firmly got it booked.”

On the phone, a voice replied: ”According to what you said, you have quite a distance from the other person’s score. Subsequent clinical assessments, will you have a big advantage?”

”Certainly not, I reached out to the emergency department folks, seven to eight points, ten points at the most, can be arranged.”

”With almost fifty points difference, arranging anything leads to issues for both of us,” said Li Yuanlin.

The voice on the phone asked: ”Then why did the theory test draw you so far apart?”

”Uncle, you suspect there’s something off with these scores too?”

Li Yuanlin stated: ”I think we need to sort this out before the retest begins.”
