System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Of course, Zhang Tiesheng called the deputy director of the Health Bureau, who was more of a direct superior. Could Du Qiang not agree?

He needed to put on a show, but it had to be bigger and more authentic than he initially planned.

With these things happening, Lu Cheng believed that perhaps he wasn’t the only one involved. The hospital, Long County, and society as a whole had many people acting in various roles, either actively or passively.

This is society...

”Brother Zhang, Director Du is, after all, the director. Let’s just focus on doing our own job well and avoid direct conflicts.”

In the operating room, after setting up the stage with Zhang Tiesheng, Lu Cheng comforted him while disinfecting and draping.

Zhang Tiesheng had quite a bit of influence; a few hours out and he could make a call to the deputy director of the Health Bureau. Even Lu Cheng feared that Zhang Tiesheng might do away with Du Qiang.

”If he weren’t such a jerk, I’d stay out of his way. But if he targets us, I won’t sit back and wait for death either.”

”What kind of person is he? Just arrived at the emergency department, and already wants to boss us around.”

Zhang Tiesheng was direct: ”Xiao Lu, you know, I’ve been learning the spleen preservation surgery for so long, and he said I couldn’t learn it anymore without reason.”

”Does that mean all the time and effort I invested was for nothing?”

”Xiao Lu, don’t be afraid. Keep doing the surgeries you need to do, and keep teaching what you need to teach.”

”We’re a County Hospital here, not a Class-III hospital in the State where department heads carry a halo.” Zhang Tiesheng hinted at something to Lu Cheng.

At the County Hospital, anyone can become a director if the department needs one.

But in a district-level hospital, the director might be irreplaceable, the strongest in the whole city.

The ability to support a department means if the director changes, the department’s strength might plummet.

Similarly, directors in a district-level hospital come with power, connections, and real authority.

”Okay, thanks, Brother Zhang.” Lu Cheng said with a smile.

”What’s there to thank for? You are both a teacher and a top salesman. If I drop my responsibilities, would that still be brotherly?”

Zhang Tiesheng winked at Lu Cheng and said, ”Moreover, Teacher Lu, your suturing technique is just amazing! If I can learn even a little, I’d jump to the State People’s Hospital, and who would dare talk down to me?”

Lu Cheng had long told Zhang Tiesheng about winning an award, and naturally, Zhang Tiesheng was curious as to why Lu Cheng could win first place.

Zhang Tiesheng had connections and, of course, knew about Lu Cheng’s suturing technique.

By being in close proximity, he got an early start, and Lu Cheng’s suturing technique could go head-to-head with the associate professors from Xiangya Hospital and beat them.

Such a valuable skill, when else would you learn it?

Forget about a mere Du Qiang. Even if the deputy director stepped in to prevent Zhang Tiesheng from learning from Lu Cheng, Zhang Tiesheng would have to stand up and confront them.

Once this technique is mastered, it becomes a unique standout in spleen preservation surgery throughout the State.

No one else would have any power over it.

Technique is technique!

Originality is indeed this powerful.

Not only is Lu Cheng remarkable, but those who first take the plunge also gain equal expertise!

Zhang Tiesheng didn’t care about projects or papers; he only wanted the skills.

”Brother Zhang, you already know, huh? I planned to find a chance to discuss it properly with you.” Lu Cheng replied.

”Actually, when Professor Chen was around, I boldly speculated, just didn’t dare to be as bold in reality.”

”Teacher Lu, you’re still awesome!~”

”Let me be bold and say you are both a mentor and a friend. Once you take off, I’m clinging to your coattails for sure; no way you can shake me off now.”

After Zhang Tiesheng finished, he immediately asked, ”Lu Cheng, after your demonstration later, make sure to give me a tutorial!”

”Money is not an issue,” Zhang Tiesheng said.

Xiang Kuihua from orthopedics even paid his own way to attend a workshop just to compete with Lu Cheng.

Zhang Tiesheng was quite astute. If nearby resources are available, there was no need to look elsewhere.

This skill could influence his entire life. There was no way he wouldn’t seize the opportunity. Even if he can’t feast, at least he can drink some soup.

”No need for that,” Lu Cheng said.

Zhang Tiesheng laughed and said, ”It’s necessary. Just a little token of appreciation for peace of mind.”

”Even as a transaction, it doesn’t negate the personal goodwill. The opportunity to learn this skill can’t be bought with money.” Zhang Tiesheng was quite sensible.

Du Qiang had his acting skills, and Zhang Tiesheng had his understanding; there was no conflict.
