System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”But?”

”Professor Chen, you can try it first. I haven’t used this technique, but just by looking at it, based on the basic principles of spleen preservation surgery, it should be quite suitable for spleen trauma!”

As Professor Xing spoke, Lu Cheng had already approached the operating table. Chen Song said, ”Professor Xing, currently there is no complete definition of spleen preservation surgery, but our specialty’s understanding is that, based on the degree of spleen injury, the patient’s age, and medical conditions, we choose the surgical method that can maximize the preservation of spleen function!”

”To be honest, this suturing technique was actually developed by this young man beside me. He’ll explain it to you for a bit.”

Chen Song purposely gave Lu Cheng a look.

Lu Cheng first reviewed the surgical field, then said after a while, ”Teacher Chen, the patient’s hemostasis is currently very dry, and the ischemic necrotic tissue of the spleen has been completely removed. In such a situation, suturing between spleen segments can be performed.”

”If necessary, omental flaps can be added for precise and effective suturing.”

Professor Xing heard a rather young voice and instinctively frowned, making a suggestion: ”Professor Chen, is it convenient to record the surgical procedure on video?”

Chen Song replied without hesitation, ”Professor Xing, that request is not feasible. This surgery is not of an educational nature. It’s not a standard simple spleen injury, so it doesn’t meet the criteria for recording educational videos.”

”Then, Professor Chen, you all go ahead with the surgery. We can continue our discussion another time when we have more time.”

Professor Xing sighed with regret, ”Given the current situation, with Professor Chen here, there will be no problems.”

Of course, he understood Chen Song’s concerns!

”Thank you, Professor Xing, for your understanding. If there’s an opportunity to attend a conference together next time, I will certainly report to you in person,” Chen Song also responded courteously.

After Chen Song finished speaking, he signaled Dr. Zhou to hang up the phone. At the same time, he gestured for Lu Cheng to begin the procedure.

Lu Cheng reviewed the hemostatic pathways, then carefully examined the track of the spleen rupture. Only then did he use a needle holder to insert the stitching needle into the patient’s spleen for solid suturing operations.

Meanwhile, in an office in Xiangzhou Ji City, several people dressed in police uniforms and several middle-aged people in formal attire were entering one after another.

”Director Tian, we have collected the surveillance footage from inside and outside the store. Currently, it can be determined that the people involved in the altercation did arrive at the store before Director Xiao and his group.”

”Director Xiao and his group were unaware of the specific situation, which led them to think that these individuals had cut the line, leading to a verbal dispute.”

”Of course, it was certainly wrong for these workers to resort to violence. I am not trying to excuse this,” said one of the uniformed individuals.

”Does the surveillance video include sound?” Director Tian frowned.

One of the people in police uniform replied, ”Yes, it’s a comprehensive recording with sound from about an hour before and after inside and outside the store.”

”We have already detained those who were involved in the altercation!”

Director Tian thought for a moment and replied, ”Then let’s leave this matter to your local public security department to handle according to law and regulations. I have no other suggestions.”

The uniformed people also responded cautiously, ”Director Tian, this incident was unforeseeable and an accident.”

”Is Director Xiao’s situation okay now?”

Director Tian replied, ”My colleague informed me that they’ve found a fairly professional doctor, and the surgery is currently underway.”

”During the interactions with my colleague at the hospital, they also assured that the organ can be preserved.”

”Another colleague of mine was only slightly injured and has undergone a relatively systematic examination, with no major issues.”

Director Tian clasped his hands together and said, ”Thank you for your hard work. This time, we have troubled you.”

The middle-aged man in uniform quickly replied, ”No, no, Director Tian, we and our colleagues in the public security department feel very guilty about the occurrence of such an incident.”

”But rest assured, Director Tian, now that the incident has occurred, we will certainly arrange the best medical resources and subsequent medical services for Director Xiao.”

The nerves on both sides were tense.

Director Tian clasped his hands and thought for a while, then asked, ”Is it Professor Chen Song from the emergency department of Xiangya Second Hospital who is performing surgery for Director Xiao this time?”

”Yes, Professor Chen Song happened to be in our Ji City for animal experiments. This information was provided by another medical personnel from our state, so we contacted Professor Chen immediately,” someone in the know quickly replied.

Director Tian glanced at him and politely asked, ”Who provided Professor Chen’s contact information?”

The person who answered had investigated thoroughly: ”It was Dr. Lu Cheng from Long County People’s Hospital. Before Professor Chen Song came to Ji City for animal experiments, he had supported the countryside in Long County People’s Hospital for three months.”

”Oh? I see, they have worked hard. Director Xiao will definitely thank these two doctors in person at that time,” Director Tian replied.

”There isn’t anything special with other matters; we’ll proceed as normal.”

”Then we won’t disturb your work, Director Tian.”

After one of the uniformed people said this, they asked, ”Director Tian, what about those who violated the public security management regulations?”

Director Tian quickly said, ”Just follow the normal process; we have no other opinions.”

”Of course, if they are willing to mediate, that’s also an option.”
