System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

During Lu Cheng’s meal, a friend request appeared on his WeChat.

It came with a note: (Xiao Mingqi).

Lu Cheng simply accepted, but did not chat with him, as Professor Chen Song was in the middle of confirming the specific experimental process and timing with him.

Lu Cheng and Professor Chen are both clinical doctors, even when eating and discussing matters, they each pay attention to their phones, which they can understand mutually.

This restaurant was recommended by Mu Leng, and the taste was quite authentic.

Without drinking, Lu Cheng sent Professor Chen back to his accommodation, then chose to take the highway nearby to return.

Around eight in the evening, Lu Cheng returned to the emergency department of Long County People’s Hospital, officially taking over Du Qiang’s ”emergency shift.”

It had been quite some time since Lin Qianlong had called Lu Cheng to report the cancellation of the penalties.

After Lu Cheng took over, Du Qiang immediately brought him into the Director’s office, dropping the facade of a cold face: ”Xiao Lu, I originally thought that your participation in the selection exam wouldn’t have any twists.”

”But who would’ve thought, you’d choose the worst department with such good results and still block someone’s way.”

Du Qiang instinctively thought this setup was an outside trick, deliberately staged by other competitors.

But after Tian Qi and others arrived, the reason they gave seemed ’legitimate,’ not apparently the doing of competitors stirring trouble.

Yet, after thinking it over, Du Qiang carefully pondered, only to circle back around to the same thought.

Lu Cheng glanced at the already closed door, let down his guard, and sighed: ”Uncle Du, I didn’t expect that merely going to participate in a normal selection exam would squeeze out such a problem.”

”So, is this matter just going to be let go?” Being young, Lu Cheng felt uneasy about the result of this situation.

Du Qiang didn’t really understand Lu Cheng’s fundamental nature, yet he slightly furrowed his brow: ”Xiao Lu, sometimes, things in society can’t be resolved with the aim of venting anger, our focus lies solely on solving the problem.”

”I know you feel wronged, but these kinds of things are hard to investigate deeply.”

”The other side is very professional, even if they’re falsely accusing, they won’t be held accountable.”

”The kind of things our hospital is doing can indeed be ’misaccused’!”

”Today’s society is not what it used to be, and there aren’t as many people who solve things through sheer force without thinking. Most of the time, it’s hard to pin down evidence or find a chance to fight back...”

”This is both a good and bad thing.”

Du Qiang was speaking to Lu Cheng from the perspective of an elder, and naturally, Lu Cheng couldn’t get angry at him.

The sorrow and bitterness of small characters lie in being toyed with within others’ grasp.

Originally, no one had their eyes on Lu Cheng, yet someone used the opportunity of the inspection team in Xiangzhou to hold a blade over Lu Cheng’s head. What can you do about it?

Finally clearing things up is already considered not bad.

”I understand, Uncle Du, I’m just venting a little privately to you. You have a lot of experience, maybe you can give me relatively good advice.”

Lu Cheng read the information sent by Xiao Mingqi, who had specially inquired upon learning of Lu Cheng’s problem. He relayed to Lu Cheng that the current scope of the inspection team did not include ”medical misconduct,” though medical corruption was indeed under their scope.

If Dean Peng wasn’t involved in ’corruption,’ then the inspection team wouldn’t handle it.

As for whether the surgery exceeded the scope or was an unauthorized surgery, as long as it didn’t involve ’organ trafficking,’ the inspection team wouldn’t address it.

Such small affairs are handled by the County Health Bureau.

”My advice is to swallow it down even if you bite your teeth until they break. Just pretend it never happened, dwelling on it is useless and will only make you more frustrated.”

”In contrast, your current calm will only make those with ulterior motives more restless, because they’re indeed facing a more frustrating predicament than you are,” Du Qiang said.

”Mm. Okay, Uncle Du.” Lu Cheng sighed, then continued, ”Uncle Du, today Professor Chen told me that the surgery we performed has a risk assessment form from the professional committee.”

”But there’s no filing.”

”Do you think it would be good to have a filing for this kind of surgery?”

”Honestly, even though I performed the spleen preservation surgery with Director Lin, I also did it with you, Uncle Du.”

”But not many people know about this.”

Du Qiang said: ”Filing it would certainly be best, but let’s talk about these things later...”

After saying that, Du Qiang knocked on the table.

Du Qiang then glanced at Lu Cheng and said, ”Director Huang Haibo of Internal Medicine has been particularly active in your matter. What’s going on there?”

”You both have a silent understanding or some connection?”

Lu Cheng shook his head: ”No, I rarely have contact with Director Huang.”

The conversation between Huang Haibo and Tong Yuan’an was known only to the two of them.

Tong Yuan’an hadn’t mentioned Huang Haibo’s thoughts to Lu Cheng, nor had he intended to involve Huang Haibo, so naturally, he also hadn’t conveyed Huang’s ’requests’ to Lu Cheng.

If Huang Haibo has the capability to earn Lu Cheng’s trust and join the project team, that’s purely his skill. Tong Yuan’an certainly wouldn’t facilitate an introduction.

This was an information blind spot for Lu Cheng.

”That’s strange, but it’s not a bad thing!” After Du Qiang finished, he waved at Lu Cheng, indicating he could leave.
