System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

When Peng Hui asked about these minor details, Chen Hao said, ”Director Peng, I’m sorry, I was still at the State People’s Hospital, also constantly answering calls. You know how terrifying this situation is.”

”It’s no problem, Director Chen, you must be busy, but I received a call from Director Tan of the emergency office, saying that, during his communication with Dr. Lu Cheng, he mentioned a problem of Dr. Lu Cheng.”

”Director Tan thought it was our department’s responsibility to handle it.”

”I said no, this issue is under Director Chen’s jurisdiction.” Peng Hui replied very politely.

”Ah?”

”Our bureau is investigating Dr. Lu Cheng’s overstepping of professional boundaries? Who? I haven’t heard about it.”

”The inspection team that’s here isn’t from the health department, right? They don’t handle this?” Chen Hao was a bit puzzled.

However, he had been bewildered too many times recently, so the bewilderment over Lu Cheng’s matter did not cause much change in his tone.

”Director Chen doesn’t know? Director Tan is also unclear, which makes me even more puzzled.” Peng Hui replied.

Chen Hao immediately said, ”Isn’t this nonsense? I’ll ask.”

Immediately after the incident occurred, Chen Hao was nearly driven mad by the director of the Health and Wellness Committee.

Lu Cheng not only provided the most effective plan, allowing them to find Chen Song, but eventually also came to Ji City personally to resolve the patient’s situation.

Now they say Lu Cheng is being investigated for something nonexistent, aren’t they talking nonsense?

This time, the inspection group mainly investigates corruption; medical corruption is also a form of corruption. Otherwise, even if Dean Peng of the Long County People’s Hospital turned himself in, the inspection team might not want to handle it.

Chen Hao at the State People’s Hospital had confirmed that Director Xiao from the inspection team had safely transferred to the recovery room and was now awake, completely out of life-threatening danger, so he could find time to verify these matters.

...

”Teacher Chen, this place isn’t cheap, but the taste is really just so-so.” Lu Cheng said.

”This isn’t Sha City cuisine at all, just a restaurant exploiting the name, neither fish nor fowl.” Chen Song picked through the dishes idly with his chopsticks.

”Teacher Chen, I’ll ask my father-in-law to recommend a better place for us later. After dinner, I’ll head back.” Lu Cheng said.

Chen Song nodded, ”Alright, if you’re free in the afternoon, follow me to our lab; that’ll be the secret base for some time.”

”Lately, I think Big Bowl Rice tastes the best, but I’m about to get tired of it.”

As Lu Cheng and Chen Song were nearing the end of their meal, he unexpectedly got a call from Director Lin Qianlong.

”Director Lin.” Lu Cheng answered the phone, without avoiding Chen Song’s presence.

Lin Qianlong’s tone suddenly became strange, ”Xiao Lu, what did you do?”

Surprised, Lu Cheng asked, ”Director Lin, I haven’t done anything?”

Lin Qianlong’s tone grew even odder, ”You didn’t do anything, then why did Director Tian Qi call our hospital yesterday to say it was all a misunderstanding?”

”He also urged me to inform you to explain that it was a misunderstanding if you receive a callback?”

”He asked for your number, but I didn’t give it.”

Lu Cheng raised his voice, ”Misunderstanding?”

”Director Lin, isn’t this misunderstanding a bit of a joke?”

Of course, Lu Cheng wasn’t venting; it was fine as long as the matter was resolved. He continued, ”Director Lin, so this issue is settled?”

Lin Qianlong said, ”Yes… Director Tian Qi said so. He mentioned that after reporting back to the state yesterday, a thorough discussion was conducted, and they decided not to pursue the matter for now...”

”The previous penalties weren’t officially issued, so they won’t be processed.”

”Although the issue is resolved, I still feel something’s amiss.”

”Are you sure you haven’t asked anyone for help?”

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”No, Director Lin, I’m in Ji City, not for this matter, but another one.”

”Alright, once your matter is settled, come back soon. After you return, we can have a meal together when you’re free.” After saying this, Lin Qianlong hung up the call.

He mainly didn’t know how to interact with the current Lu Cheng, even though he was the former director, but he was just the former director after all.

This trouble might have been resolved because of Lu Cheng; he hadn’t even gotten wind of the details, but Lu Cheng’s side had already resolved the matter.

After hanging up, Chen Song said, ”Right? It’s a misunderstanding, isn’t it?”

”That’s what Director Lin said, but Teacher Chen, you know I didn’t do anything.” Lu Cheng flipped his hands, ”We small figures are just playthings at others’ applause.”

”They investigate when they want, and stop investigating when they decide not to.”

Chen Song asked, ”It was an own-goal error to begin with, you were too panicked. Even if you were involved in practicing beyond your scope, it has nothing to do with the inspection group this time.”

”Of course, you might not understand the nature of inspection teams; previous ones stationed at our hospital were the real deal.”

Chen Song spoke with a hint of lingering fear.

”Teacher Chen, are you speaking of your colleagues?” Lu Cheng was of course aware of Mr. Liu’s case at Xiangya Second Hospital.

”Don’t mention it, I had to supplement over 100,000 words of material for that incident, almost ended up with a TFCC injury.” Chen Song waved his hand, signaling not to discuss it.

TFCC (Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex) is a complex structure on the ulnar side of the wrist joint, composed of ligaments, tendons, and fibrocartilage. A TFCC injury is a soft tissue injury in this region.
