System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Besides, isn’t Brother Wu your creditor? Show him a little bit of care.”

Zeng Huanqi rolled his eyes and continued to rant, ”The door, damn, I paid for the repairs myself. His brother is really stubborn.”

”Rather be kept longer than pay money, as if he thinks not paying means everything’s all cleared up. Civil and criminal matters are separate, okay?”

”Forget it, lazy to talk about these petty things.”

”But Tian Zhuang has it really tough. I saw through surveillance, he took the knife at least six or seven times to completely cut through these troubles.”

”If you’re not a person with pure intentions, you’d probably be unable to wield the knife against a child.” Zeng Huanqi looked helpless.

Tian Zhuang is surely a person with a good temper, but being forced to threaten his own nieces and nephews with a knife shows how awkward his situation is.

Similarly, a person like this, once they’ve made up their mind, it’s impossible to make them change it.

”Brother Zeng, let’s not talk about this anymore. I know what you mean, but on Brother Zhuang’s side, I really don’t want any complications.”

”I don’t want to be a teacher who turns himself into trouble.” Lu Cheng shook his head and spoke rather shrewdly.

What did Lu Cheng teach Tian Zhuang?

Tian Zhuang is an adult; no matter how inexperienced he is in worldly matters, solving his own familial issues without troubling the teacher is something he should accomplish, right?

No longer a seven or eight, or even seventeen or eighteen-year-old kid.

”Hmm, that’s true.”

”By the way, Xiao Lu, just now Director Du spoke to me. He said that if there’s appendicitis or other general surgery during your shifts, you must call him first.”

Zeng Huanqi took two deep breaths before speaking irritably: ”This guy is so ridiculously narrow-minded, how did he become the director even?”

He totally got Director Du’s approach, wanting to block Lu Cheng’s surgeries, so that even though Lu Cheng could perform them, his rank was not high enough, leaving everything to Du Qiang.

This is common in the county, just for a bit more surgical volume.

Not entirely unreasonable, as Du Qiang’s appendectomy skill would definitely not be inferior to Lu Cheng’s, just the way he’s doing is so unpleasant.

Lu Cheng retorted sarcastically: ”Then what about tendon suturing and limb replantation, should we call Director Du for those too?”

If we’re playing this act, let’s play it all the way.

Though Lu Cheng wasn’t quite sure, he must learn to play Du Qiang’s game this way.

”Hmm, we’ll call him when the time comes and see what Director Du says.” Zeng Huanqi wasn’t a good person, equally unpredictable and unconventional…

Surgical shifts are 24-hour nature; typically, during such shifts, one could wait at home, ready for the call.

But Lu Cheng’s surgical coverage is wide, and he wasn’t picky about cases, so he stayed in the department the whole time.

After seeing off Zeng Huanqi’s day shift, he welcomed Zhang Tiesheng’s night shift.

The night shift was fairly peaceful, and Lu Cheng teamed up with Zhang Tiesheng to ’rank’ for four hours without any trauma patients coming in.

Both of them felt a bit dizzy.

Lu Cheng set aside his phone: ”Brother Zhang, next time let’s rank up fiercely together; I’m going to check on that surgical patient, take a shower, and rest.”

”Yeah, okay, I’ll go shower first.”

”This kind of shift duty feels comfortable, patients calm, no one injured, and we enjoy the leisure.” Zhang Tiesheng yawned and grabbed a winter date.

Lu Cheng didn’t charge, but Zhang Tiesheng was considerate, buying lots of snacks, not only fruit platters but also spicy beef from a snack store, aiming to appease a man’s appetite…
