Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2548: Chapter 2549: Return to Tianyun (115)

”I certainly believe you’ll be fine, but if you don’t look, Dad will be more worried. You see, he’s been almost sleepless and restless about this lately. You should at least pretend to look, just for show.” Taoming Ye said with a smile.

Su Xing also found it funny but agreed, ”If Dad comes, I’ll take a look for show. If he doesn’t come, I won’t look.”

”Alright.” Taoming Ye had no objections; he truly had great confidence in his wife.

Then, Taoming Ye laughed.

Seeing Taoming Ye just laugh without saying anything to her, Su Xing became curious and immediately leaned in to hold one of Taoming Ye’s arms, asking, ”Husband, what are you laughing about this time?”

”I’m laughing because...” Taoming Ye glanced at Ru Song, ”It’s unknown whether we are too confident. He actually secretly bet all his assets on you becoming the Martial Champion.”

Ru Song hurriedly stepped forward with a smiling face, ”It’s really because the young mistress is too incredible; that’s why I dared to bet like that.”

Su Xing asked with a smile, ”Tell me, how much are all your assets?”

Ru Song replied with a smile, ”Naturally, it’s not worth as much as a single hair of the young master, just over a thousand taels.”

Su Xing said, ”If you win the bet, with odds of one to one hundred, you would indeed make a fortune.”

Ru Song said, ”If that really happens, it’s thanks to the young mistress.”

Su Xing imitated his tone, ”If it really turns out that way, I’ll marry Hong Ye to you as your wife, how does that sound?”

”Miss!” Hong Ye, who was beside them, instantly blushed.

Ru Song was particularly happy and quickly knelt down, ”Thank you, young mistress. Hong Ye and I didn’t know how to bring this up with you, but it seems you already figured it out. Young master, young mistress, rest assured, even if Hong Ye and I get married, we’ll only serve you more enthusiastically.”

Su Xing intentionally looked at Hong Ye and said, ”Hong Ye, by your expression, it seems you don’t want this, huh?”

Hong Ye immediately replied, ”No way!” After speaking, she realized she fell into her mistress’s trap, her face reddened even more, and she ran off shyly.

Su Xing then smiled and let Ru Song get up, ”You may rise. I noticed something was off between you two last year, but fortunately, you’re both good people. Pairing together is fitting. Once I win the Martial Champion title, you two should pick a good day for the wedding.”

”Yes!” Ru Song responded quickly, extremely happy.

”You go find Hong Ye; she’s probably hiding somewhere in embarrassment. Just tell her that I really want you two to be together.”

”Yes, young mistress.” Ru Song bowed again, then quickly went out to find his beloved Hong Ye.

After Ru Song left too, Su Xing smiled at Taoming Ye and said, ”I was planning to match them up anyway. They’ve been infatuated with each other for a while now, which is great because I didn’t need to play matchmaker. But since they serve us so enthusiastically, when they get married, we should give a generous gift.”

”You make the decisions; I have no objections.” He was completely unconcerned.

...

Time flew by.

That day, Su Muchen personally arrived at the Royal Palace to find Su Changyi.

”Uncle, tomorrow is the imperial exam. Muchen thinks you should also take the exam for that Huo Xiner.”

Su Changyi was holding a ladle, watering the flowers in the courtyard. Hearing this, he replied indifferently, ”I’ve told you before, I won’t be involved in these matters. If you really want someone from the Royal Palace to participate, let Yi Jing go; I’ve almost delegated all my tasks to him.”

Su Muchen had no choice but to find Su Yi Jing. He felt it wouldn’t be a problem for One Person to go through the imperial exam alone, but rather, with Su Changyi and all of them returning to the Imperial City, appearing together at the exam venue seemed more proper.
