Chapter 2504: Chapter 2505: Return to Tianyun (71)

Su Muchen laughed angrily, ”It’s embarrassing that you’re my younger brother, threatening me while helping with such a little task?”

”Mainly because I’m not interested in these things. Besides, if I were interested, you’d definitely be afraid I’d compete with you for the throne.”

”Get lost. I don’t want to be Emperor anymore; if you want it, take it. Really, I’m doing everything on my own.”

Seeing that Su Muchen was genuinely upset, Su Muye playfully reassured him, ”Calm down, elder brother. Aren’t you going to visit Uncle Emperor and Aunt tomorrow? As long as you bring them back, Brother Jing, Brother Star, Brother Qing, Brother Yun, Brother Qi, Brother Lin, and Brother Zhi should all come back to work. Won’t you have some lighter moments then?”

Su Muchen thought it over and indeed began to feel relieved.

Unexpectedly, Su Muye continued laughing cheekily, ”But elder brother, I think it will be hard for you to bring back Uncle Emperor and Aunt. We can barely breathe when we see Uncle Emperor.”

Immediately filled with anger towards Su Yi Jing again, Su Muchen retorted furiously, ”Even if I have to cry, I’ll make sure to bring back Uncle Emperor and Aunt!”

”That’s right, that’s the spirit! Otherwise, Uncle Emperor and Aunt really won’t come back with you.”

Su Muchen glanced sideways, ”Why so excited? Or do you want to take my place to cry them back?”

Su Muye instantly became timid; Aunt was kind and not scary, but Uncle Emperor was terrifying.

Su Muye quickly smiled obligingly, ”No, of course not. I’m just helping to deal with the memorials for a month, proving I’m a pretty competent younger brother, that’s all.”

Su Muchen was once again amused by his eleven-year younger brother.

...

Tao Chengyin came back from court and worked at the Ministry of Rites until 3:45 PM before returning to Tao Mansion. Of course, at the Ministry, he was inevitably flattered by others.

And upon arriving at Tao Mansion, Tao Chengyin joyfully headed straight to Su Xing’s place, instructing along the way for Mrs. Cao, Taoming Hai, Wan Banyan, three concubines, and four commoner sons and daughters to join them.

Su Xing and Taoming Ye found themselves confused as Tao Chengyin came not only himself but summoned so many people.

Mrs. Cao and the others were equally confused.

Yet seeing Tao Chengyin so happy, there must be good news to announce.

Currently, Su Xing and Taoming Ye were quite favored by Tao Chengyin, the head of the family. Given past lessons, Wan Banyan would politely bow slightly upon seeing Su Xing and Taoming Ye and greet them as ”elder brother and sister-in-law.”

”Master, what’s the great joy about? You’re so happy, gathering us all here,” Mrs. Cao asked with a smile.

Tao Mingsheng said, ”Father, is this good news related to elder brother and sister-in-law? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have called us all.”

Tao Chengyin nodded happily, then affectionately looked Su Xing over from top to bottom.

If Su Xing wasn’t incredibly patient, she would certainly laugh out loud. Her father-in-law was hilarious like this.

After appraising Su Xing, Tao Chengyin addressed her in front of everyone, ”Xin’er, today I have great news for you; it’s about you.”

”What is it, father?” Su Xing asked, holding back a laugh. Secretly, she squeezed her husband’s hand, signaling him to hold his laughter too. It was too funny; her father-in-law looked at her like she was a treasure.

Taoming Ye was indeed holding back laughter as well. He had never seen this side of his father before.
