Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2537: Chapter 2538: Return to Tianyun (104)

”Sir, it really is you.” Taoming Ye was delighted to see Gong Juechen. Whether at the Tao Mansion or the Huo Mansion, people coming to see him were rare. Now, this Gong Sir came to see him, Taoming Ye was quite pleased.

Su Xing was happy for Taoming Ye as well. Although Taoming Ye ran large businesses outside, he always operated discreetly, with Ru Song handling things publicly. Due to health reasons, he hardly went out, let alone met with guests; now someone had come to speak with her husband, she was naturally happy for him.

”Grandma is here too.” Upon seeing Ye Zhi was also present, Taoming Ye greeted her politely.

Ye Zhi smiled and said, ”You may call me Grandma Gong, I’m his wife.”

Gong Juechen immediately grinned and said, ”Then you should call me Grandpa Gong, don’t call me Sir, otherwise people won’t know we’re a couple.”

”Alright,” Taoming Ye responded gently.

After Su Xing helped Taoming Ye sit comfortably on the chair, she greeted Gong Juechen and Ye Zhi, ”Grandpa Gong, Grandma Gong.”

Ye Zhi immediately smiled and said, ”You must be his wife. We’ve bought things twice, and twice we’ve run into him buying you food. He says a wife is meant to be pampered. Just now, I saw you being so careful, afraid something might happen to him. It’s clear you two are deeply in love.”

Gong Juechen then sized up Su Xing from head to toe, and with exaggerated amazement, exclaimed, ”If we hadn’t heard, we truly wouldn’t have guessed you, with your delicate arms and legs, are the top Martial Talent.”

On the way here, Taoming Ye had told Su Xing that this Gong Sir was someone who was always joking and unserious.

Seeing him now, it was indeed true.

Su Xing understood this internally but showed nothing on her face, instead laughing, ”I got a bit lucky in the exams; I actually only have mediocre skills.”

Ye Zhi laughed, ”You’re too modest. To top the exams, how could it be mediocre skills? Don’t think you can fool us just because we’re old.”

Su Xing replied with a polite smile, then changed the topic, ”It’s almost noon, now that Grandpa Gong and Grandma Gong are here, why not stay for lunch?”

Before Ye Zhi could speak, Gong Juechen, still grinning, said, ”Sure.”

Su Xing immediately instructed people to set the table.

Taoming Ye then smiled and asked, ”Grandpa Gong, Grandma Gong, what brings you here today?”

Gong Juechen said, ”Oh, it’s like this, I noticed your health is not good, and coincidentally, my son gave me some tonic medicine. I can’t consume it all, so I brought some for you.”

As he spoke, Gong Juechen took out a small porcelain bottle and handed it to Taoming Ye.

The small porcelain bottle looked expensive, and the medicine inside must be very valuable. Taoming Ye was somewhat anxious and quickly stood up, ”Grandpa Gong’s son prepared medicine for Grandpa Gong; it must be extremely precious. How can it be given to me, I can’t accept it.” Saying this, he tried to return the medicine to Gong Juechen.

But Gong Juechen hid behind his wife Ye Zhi, ”Don’t give it back to me, anything I give away, I never take back.”

Seeing an old man hiding behind an old lady, Su Xing found the scene increasingly amusing.

”But this medicine, it’s useless for me,” Taoming Ye said, looking troubled.

Ye Zhi immediately replied in confusion, ”You haven’t tried it, how do you know it’s useless?”

Gong Juechen continued hiding behind Ye Zhi, sticking out his head and nodding in agreement with his wife, ”Exactly, exactly, you haven’t tried it, how do you know it’s useless.”
