Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2522: Chapter 2523: Return to Tianyun (89)

”No problem at all,” An Jing immediately nodded. She wasn’t sure if she was truly getting old or just got used to her grandchildren making noise around them, but now she quite enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

Her husband seemed to have been influenced, too, as he didn’t seem to dislike the hustle and bustle as much anymore.

”Then it’s settled!” Ye Zhi was overjoyed. She had always loved the excitement.

...

Three days later, An Jing and the group set out back to the Imperial City.

A month later, on August 14th, An Jing and the group arrived at the Imperial City.

Gong Juechen and Ye Zhi followed An Jing to stay at the Royal Palace, while Meng Lanqing, Meng Zhuqing, Gong Juese, and others from the Meng family returned to stay at the Meng family residence.

The Meng family was originally in the Imperial Capital and moved to the Imperial City ten years ago, led by Meng Lanqing and Gong Juese’s eldest son—Meng Sibo, who brought along Old Lady Meng.

Old Lady Meng is now 104 years old. Although Meng Lanqing and Meng Zhuqing, her two sons, didn’t serve her in person, her eldest grandson Meng Sibo has always stayed by her side, being particularly filial to her. He even became a fourth-ranking official and married, giving her many great-grandchildren, making her incredibly happy day after day.

Now, her sons Meng Lanqing and Meng Zhuqing have returned and won’t be leaving again, and she is naturally even happier.

Jing Xingqingyun Kirin Zhi were all conferred with royal titles. They originally should have had their own mansions built, but Jing Xing and Qing Yun both disagreed with the idea of building them. One reason was that they felt they were one family and very close, and didn’t want to live separately; the other reason was that building seven mansions would be too expensive, and they preferred to spend the money on the people of Tianyun. Therefore, in the Imperial City, they didn’t have their own mansions, and whenever they came to the city, they stayed in the Royal Palace or Imperial Palace.

And now, naturally, they would stay with their parents in the Royal Palace.

When An Jing and the group arrived at the Royal Palace gates, they saw Lu Moran and Qi Jiaoqiao already waiting there with others. That didn’t surprise them, but Lu Moran’s belly was noticeably large...

”Ran’er, have you gained weight?” An Yizhi jumped off the carriage, staring directly at Lu Moran’s belly.

An Yiqi also jumped off the carriage, and upon hearing An Yizhi’s comment, he raised his hand and gave his younger brother a pat on the head. ”What do you mean, gained weight! She must be pregnant again! What’s wrong with your eyes!”

An Yizhi still couldn’t quite believe it and muttered, ”I was here just two months ago and didn’t see her pregnant...”

Lu Moran just smiled faintly.

Qi Jiaoqiao chimed in to help, saying, ”Seventh Brother, when you came last time, Moran was already over two months pregnant, but she didn’t want us to tell you. Even when the Emperor visited you, she asked him not to say anything, worried you’d become concerned and rush over.”

His wife was pregnant again, and while An Yizhi was delighted, he was more terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat.

Since his wife became the Vice Minister in the Imperial City again, he would normally come to see his wife every month or two, staying for many days. And of course, during those days, they would inevitably engage in some good exercise at night.

Last time, she was over two months pregnant... Thankfully, nothing happened due to their activities. But if something had happened...

An Yizhi felt another wave of fear, and as he supported his wife Lu Moran, he planned in his mind that when there was no one else around, he would definitely have a serious talk with his wife.

His wife’s ideas were indeed audacious; she rarely discussed anything with him! Now, she even hid such a big deal as being pregnant from him and didn’t tell him! Although it was out of concern for him, fearing he’d worry and come over, he couldn’t just let it go like that! They definitely needed to talk this through!
