Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2536: Chapter 2537: Return to Tianyun (103)

An Jing said with a smile, ”Still haven’t had enough fun last month.”

Ye Zhi replied, ”Well, it’s not really for fun, maybe just a little, but mainly Gong Juechen wants to go to the Tao Mansion to use Taoming Ye for trial medication, saying he’s bored.”

An Jing immediately disagreed, ”Taoming Ye’s health can’t withstand that, can you really let him use Taoming Ye for testing?”

”I can’t stop him, he’s all excited, obsessed with having Taoming Ye try the medicine to see if it works, but he promised me that even if the medicine doesn’t work, it won’t harm Taoming Ye’s health nor will it kill him. You know, he wouldn’t lie to me, so I believed him and let him do his thing.”

”If it’s truly like he said, that the medicine won’t harm Taoming Ye even if it doesn’t work, then you can go, perhaps it might help a bit; that child is quite pitiful. My brother-in-law and I won’t be going, Mu Chen and Mu Ye are coming for dinner today mainly to see us, and it wouldn’t be good for us to leave.”

”Alright then,” Ye Zhi didn’t insist, ”Then Gong Juechen and I will go.”

”Hmm, be careful on the way.” After a pause, An Jing reminded, ”And don’t reveal your identities.”

Ye Zhi laughed, ”You don’t need to tell me, as for Gong Juechen, definitely not, he seems carefree and unserious, but he’s very slick, he won’t cause trouble for himself by exposing his identity.”

Taoming Ye isn’t an ordinary person; he’s the son of a Third Rank official. If they reveal their identities when visiting, people would definitely suspect them, ponder over all sorts of possibilities. It’s better not to reveal their identities.

As soon as Ye Zhi returned, Gong Juechen asked, ”Is Jingjing and the others coming?”

”They’re not coming. Today the Emperor and Lord Night are visiting them, they can’t leave.”

”Then we’ll go by ourselves.” Gong Juechen always had a peculiar enthusiasm towards trial medications.

”Hmm.”

When they arrived at the entrance of the Tao Mansion, Gong Juechen went ahead and asked the Young Servant, ”Is your eldest young master here? We want to see him.”

The Young Servant saw that Gong Juechen and Ye Zhi were well-dressed and didn’t dare neglect them, immediately said, ”The eldest young master is not here, he accompanied the young mistress to her parental home to prepare for next year’s provincial military exam.”

Ye Zhi asked puzzled, ”Why prepare for the exam at her parental home?”

The Young Servant replied, ”The young mistress’s parental home used to be the General’s mansion, it has a large training ground, which is convenient for preparing for the military examination.”

”I see.” Ye Zhi nodded, then said to Gong Juechen, ”Then let’s go to the Huo family.”

Gong Juechen, who was keen on having Taoming Ye try the medicine, immediately agreed without hesitation.

At the Huo Mansion entrance, Gong Juechen again asked the Gatekeeper, ”Is Taoming Ye, Mr. Tao here? We’re here to see him.”

”Our Sir is here.” Seeing Gong Juechen and Ye Zhi dressed exceptionally well, the Gatekeeper asked, ”May I ask your family’s surname, Sir?”

”I’m surnamed Gong, tell him that he’s met me twice and called me ’big brother’ twice, he’ll know who I am.”

”Is this your lady, Sir? Then please have Sir and Madam wait in the living room, I’ll immediately have someone report to our Sir.”

Ye Zhi and Gong Juechen entered the Huo Mansion, sat in the living room, were quickly served tea, and didn’t wait long before seeing Taoming Ye being helped in by a young woman of about sixteen or seventeen.

The young woman was very beautiful, carefully supporting Taoming Ye, as if worried he might trip or bump into something; it was obvious that this young woman cared deeply for Taoming Ye.
