Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2539: Chapter 2540: Return to Tianyun (106)

Su Xing then backed down and said, ”Let’s have the dog eat two pills first. If a few days pass and nothing happens, then you can take them, okay?”

Knowing she was doing this for safety, Taoming Ye naturally agreed: ”Alright.”

Five days later, seeing that the dog was fine, Su Xing dared to let Taoming Ye take the medicine.

The medicine was to be taken one pill daily. The pills were very small, originally thirty pills in a bottle, but after giving two to the dog, there were twenty-eight left. If Taoming Ye took one pill a day, it would last twenty-eight days.

Taoming Ye didn’t feel much initially, but after taking it for half a month, he looked noticeably better.

After taking it for another four days, Taoming Ye’s complexion improved again.

Only then did Su Xing dare to confirm it was the medicine’s effect. She was so happy she wanted to find Grandpa Gong and Grandma Gong to ask for the formula, so she could always make this tonic for Taoming Ye. However, she didn’t know where Grandpa Gong and Grandma Gong lived.

”Husband, what do we do if we don’t know where they live? How do we find them?” Su Xing was very worried.

Taoming Ye said, ”Last time they came, we did ask where they lived, but they didn’t tell us. They only said their surname was Gong and asked us to call them Grandpa and Grandma Gong. Don’t worry too much. I’m content with my health being much better so that I no longer look pale like a ghost just from walking a short distance.”

”But I want you to be even better!” Instantly, Su Xing stopped leaning on the table and sighed. She stood up abruptly: ”No way, tomorrow I must go out and inquire!”

Seeing her so determined, he said, ”Then tomorrow, I’ll go out and inquire with you.”

”You stay at home; you’ve only just gotten better and still can’t take long walks. Hong Ye and I will go out and inquire.”

Taoming Ye thought about it and agreed, nodding in agreement.

For the next three days, Su Xing and Hong Ye went around the streets of the Imperial City asking if there were any households with the surname Gong. There were two, but neither matched the description of the old couple they spoke of.

Having found no one, Su Xing was very discouraged.

Taoming Ye didn’t want Su Xing to be so despondent, but no matter how much he comforted her, she remained very low-spirited.

On the tenth of November, when Taoming Ye finished the last pill, Su Xing’s mood plummeted further. She wanted to turn the entire Imperial City upside down to find Grandpa Gong and Grandma Gong.

The problem was, the Imperial City was not her home, and it was under the Son of Heaven. It’s not something she could overturn alone.

Just when Su Xing was clinging to Taoming Ye like a child, refusing to let go, Hong Ye burst in excitedly to report: ”Miss, my father said that the Gong surname elders are here to visit the master-in-law again and are waiting in the main hall!” ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

At once, Su Xing released Taoming Ye and, without looking back, dashed out like the wind. When she reached the main hall, being a lady, she couldn’t seize Grandpa Gong, so she held onto Grandma Gong.

She eagerly asked, ”Grandma Gong, can you sell us the formula for the tonic you gave us last time? We’ll buy it for whatever price! The medicine has been quite effective for my husband. Continuing to take it might improve his health even more!”

Ye Zhi and Gong Juechen had originally planned to visit half a month earlier, but recently, Lu Moran had been feeling particularly unwell. Lu Moran was pregnant, already seven months along, and if something happened, it could mean losing both lives. Even though Su Yixing was in the Royal Palace, they still weren’t reassured and had no mind to leave the palace, staying there the whole time.
