Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1217: Chapter 662: Advancing Triumphantly (Part 3)

Given the current trend, it’s possible for this movie’s box office to break 3 billion, as long as the reputation doesn’t collapse later.

Due to the great success of ”Two Tigers,” the filming of ”Female Assassin” has also garnered much attention.

After Yao Yuanfeng arrived in Shanghai, the first thing he did was to arrange a meeting with Zhou Yun to discuss the sequel to ”Two Tigers.”

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”Xiao Yun, the sequel must have you, otherwise it wouldn’t be a complete ’Two Tigers.’

Zhou Yun was initially unwilling to film the sequel.

Mainly because at the time, she participated in the movie to help Wen Bing and Yao Yuanfeng.

However, given the great reputation and box office success of ”Two Tigers,” Zhou Yun is now somewhat hesitant.

She said, ”President Yao, will Wen Bing continue to direct the sequel?”

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”Of course, only Wen Bing can direct ’Two Tigers.’

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh inside.

Now that ”Two Tigers” has such a good reputation and success, Yao Yuanfeng starts to say only Wen Bing can direct it, though he previously considered other directors for the sequel.

”President Yao, I can film the sequel, but I truly don’t know when my schedule will be free. Also, will I still be just a cameo in the sequel?” Zhou Yun asked.

She doesn’t mind making a cameo, but she doesn’t want to end up like last time where New Shield promoted her as if she were the leading actress, causing many of her fans to feel deceived.

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”Xiao Yun, don’t worry, your role in the sequel is definitely a main one, it won’t be less than Mr. Liang’s.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m not saying my role should be more than Mr. Liang’s, I just don’t want my fans to feel deceived into theaters again.”

”Don’t worry, that won’t happen again,” Yao Yuanfeng said. ”After all, you have the standalone movie ’Female Assassin’ coming up. Xiao Yun, trust me, the Female Assassin character will become a classic for you, and I intend to push this series into the global market.”

Yao Yuanfeng is known for promising big things.

Zhou Yun only believes him halfway.

Even if the ”Two Tigers” series goes global, it might not necessarily achieve particularly high box office earnings.

Chinese action movies once had a glorious past, but it’s not as gloried now.

Every movie has its fate.

After hearing from Zhou Yun about Yao Yuanfeng’s request for her to act in the sequel, Zhou Lan immediately said, ”No way, agreeing to the sequel is fine, but we must get a share of the global box office revenue.”

”Hmm?”

”Liang Yuanpu gets 5% box office share for ’Two Tigers,’ and your box office pulling power is now proven, so why can’t you get it?” Zhou Lan said. ”Moreover, given your current international fame, films you star in will attract attention and purchases from international film distributors, especially in commercial action movies. They can’t just exploit your notoriety without giving you any share, right?”

After Zhou Lan proposed the box office share to Yao Yuanfeng, he immediately refused.

Zhou Lan held firm, saying, ”If Zhou Yun can’t get box office share, then we can’t make this movie. President Yao, Xiao Yun got a China box office share for the Hollywood movie ’Killing Song,’ so if you want Xiao Yun to film in the ’Two Tigers’ series you must meet our demands.”

Yao Yuanfeng remained adamantly opposed.

”So it seems Xiao Yun is not as valued in your eyes as Liang Yuanpu. As far as I’m aware, Liang Yuanpu gets a 5% box office share for ’Two Tigers,’ right?”

”What grade of actor do you think Liang Yuanpu is?” Yao Yuanfeng said irritably, ”And don’t forget, Liang Yuanpu is the undisputed main lead of ’Two Tigers’. The high box office right now isn’t solely due to Zhou Yun.”

”Oh, is that so? President Yao, if that’s the case, why did New Shield put so much effort into promoting Zhou Yun?” Zhou Lan said. ”We were clearly just a cameo, yet you edited 20 minutes of the scenes of Zhou Yun into the film and promoted her as the leading actress, didn’t you?”

Yao Yuanfeng said, ”That’s a different matter, Zhou Lan. Zhou Yun received a share for ’Female Assassin,’ right?”

”If ’Female Assassin’ can have a share, then why can’t ’Two Tigers’ sequel?” Zhou Lan countered.

Yao Yuanfeng didn’t say more.

Zhou Lan didn’t expect to reach an agreement in one go, so this conversation ended on a discordant note temporarily.

Zhou Lan communicated the latest situation to Zhou Yun.

”Getting a share of the global box office seems difficult. My bottom line is if they can’t offer a global box office share, they need to compensate us in terms of talent fee and overseas box office share,” Zhou Lan said. ”When New Shield sells movies overseas, you are the biggest celebrity. If they don’t even have this level of sincerity, then don’t take the role.”
