Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1031: Chapter 600: Who Is Your Baby’s Father? (5)

Zhou Yun: ”I guess Sister Luo Qi would rather give you more pay, or a cut.”

”Which film would I not get a cut from?” Song Chi laughed, ”Shi Luoqi has been in this industry for so long, she knows.”

Actually, Zhou Yun understood why Song Chi did this.

Almost every actor who reaches Song Chi’s level either focuses on being an actor, becoming an artist, or like Song Chi, they start their own film company, investing in films they like, establishing a unique style.

”Do you value the experience of making sci-fi films?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Do you want to take this opportunity to learn from the companies in the United States about making these types of films?”

”Yes.” Song Chi nodded, ”Our domestic sci-fi films haven’t really become a large-scale industrialized sector yet. I might not be able to make those high-budget sci-fi blockbusters, but like ’Arrival’, those mid to low-budget sci-fi films, I think it’s a field I can explore next.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”That’s true. There are a lot of soft sci-fi movies abroad, but we haven’t quite developed them domestically.” Zhou Yun said, ”The sci-fi scripts I’ve received are mostly similar to ’My Robot Girlfriend’, which is soft sci-fi among soft sci-fi, without truly sci-fi themes.”

Song Chi said, ”Actually, sci-fi novels have been getting more attention over the years. Our country has seen a batch of sci-fi writers emerging, increasing the upstream sources. I guess we’re just waiting for an opportunity, and the sci-fi film genre will gradually become popular. If we have experience in making sci-fi films by then, we can rise with the trend.”

”Do you want to make sci-fi films yourself?” Zhou Yun suddenly asked.

Song Chi thought for a moment and said, ”I’ve watched a lot of sci-fi films since I was a child, from ’Star Wars’ to ’Terminator.’ Indeed, I have a sci-fi dream in my heart.”

”I told you so.” Zhou Yun showed a ”I knew it” expression.

Song Chi asked, ”What about you?”

”I’m not that passionate about sci-fi films. Of course, I quite like watching the ’Mad Max’ series, but in a strict sense, I don’t think it’s a sci-fi film, more like an adventure film.” Zhou Yun pondered for a moment, ”Alright, actually, sci-fi films themselves are about incorporating sci-fi concepts into different genres.”

Song Chi: ”You put it well.”

”I recently watched a movie called ’Annihilation,’ and it was so mysterious that I didn’t understand what it was about at all.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”But there’s a sci-fi novel, I don’t know if you’ve read it, ’Star Inheritor.’ It has three volumes, very captivating and extremely shocking, both shocking and moving. It’s the kind of shock and emotion brought by the passage of time.”

Song Chi said, ”I’ll take a look; I haven’t read it.”

”It’s a pity that ’Star Inheritor’ hasn’t been made into a movie.” Zhou Yun said, ”If it could be made into a film and shown in theaters, it would be very stunning.”

After a while, the takeout arrived.

...

Zhou Lan returned home, took a shower, lay on the bed, and took a nap, only to be woken up by Yuk Chu’s phone call.

Zhou Lan saw Yuk Chu’s name flashing on the phone screen and answered the call.

”Chuchu.”

Yuk Chu said, ”Sister Lan, I need your help.”

Zhou Lan’s sleepiness was instantly dispelled. She suddenly sat up in bed and asked, ”What’s wrong? Tell me.”

Yuk Chu said, ”I was photographed going for obstetric checkups.”

”Obstetric checkups?” Zhou Lan’s pupils shook, almost unable to react.

”Don’t tell me you’re pregnant!”

Yuk Chu said, ”Sister Lan, I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you before, I didn’t expect to be actually pregnant myself.”

”...” Before falling asleep, Zhou Lan was still immersed in the satisfaction and fighting spirit brought by this trip to the United States, thinking that once she woke up, she would make a big splash and bring her artists to the international stage, becoming international celebrities. But this call was like a cold shower pouring over her head, chilling her to the core.

Zhou Lan took a deep breath to calm herself down and said, ”Where are you now? Tell me the location, I’ll come find you right away. Also, when did you go to the hospital for obstetric checkups, and who photographed you? Gather all the details, don’t leave anything out.”

Zhou Lan followed her instructions to Yuk Chu as she got out of bed to dress, her movements swift.

Yuk Chu followed Zhou Lan’s instructions and sent her the address.

Zhou Lan tidied up, and before heading out, she remembered to ask, ”Who is the child’s father?”
