Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1018: Chapter 597: Party Scene

Elizabeth’s residence in New York is a three-story mansion.

When Zhou Yun and her group arrived, they first passed a checkpoint where their invitations were checked and their identities confirmed before being allowed in.

After about ten meters of a tree-lined path, a left turn revealed a Roman-style round fountain, flanked by seemingly ironed-flat lawns.

Of course, nowadays these lawns are not green.

The car circled the fountain and then drove down the avenue through the lawn, arriving at the front door of the house.

The car stopped at the door.

Zhou Yun and He Wenyun got out together.

At the entrance, people in suits guided them inside.

Passing through the foyer, Zhou Yun could already hear the music coming from inside.

After traversing a winding corridor, a bustling hall suddenly appeared ahead.

Many people were inside drinking and chatting, while others danced to the music in the center.

At the front of the hall, Zhou Yun saw a live band playing.

She didn’t recognize the members of the band, but judging by the music, they were a very well-coordinated group.

Her and He Wenyun’s arrival attracted some attention.

Curious gazes assessed these two Eastern women appearing side by side, both equally beautiful but with distinct styles.

Most of these faces were strangers.

Zhou Yun did not want to stand around like a fool, being scrutinized like a monkey in a zoo.

She turned and headed to the long table with the drinks and snacks, picking up a glass of champagne.

”Zhou Yun!” Suddenly, someone approached, coming to her side.

Zhou Yun turned in surprise, to find it was Cristina, the Spanish actress she had quite a connection with.

Cristina looked a bit slimmer than the last time they met, and her skin had tanned a bit.

Zhou Yun exclaimed happily, ”Cristina, what a coincidence, I didn’t know you were here today, I’m so surprised!”

Cristina laughed and said, ”I just finished shooting my last film, so I’m resting now. When I received Elizabeth’s invitation, I came immediately. I didn’t expect to see you here! Such a coincidence! Darling, you’re quite the sensation now; many people are talking about you, saying you’re a mysterious Eastern actress.”

Zhou Yun frowned in confusion, ”Huh? Mysterious?”

Cristina nodded, ”You’re not active in Hollywood, and you come here rarely, almost no one has interacted with you, so people say you’re mysterious. On this point, the lady who came with you, He Wenyun, is much more familiar with this place than you are.”

Zhou Yun laughed, ”So that’s what they mean. I do visit infrequently; this is my first time attending a private party like this. Without Elizabeth’s invitation, I probably wouldn’t have had the chance to attend.”

Cristina held Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Elizabeth really likes you. Before you arrived, she mentioned in particular to several people that a Chinese actress she really likes would be coming, and she wants to introduce you to everyone. How did you get to know her?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I ran into her at an event before, she was very enthusiastic.”

”Enthusiastic?” Cristina seemed surprised to hear this word from Zhou Yun’s mouth, ”She’s not usually that type of person. She must really like you to treat you differently.”

Cristina’s words left Zhou Yun a bit puzzled.

Is Elizabeth not enthusiastic toward others?

Thinking carefully, Elizabeth’s warmth towards her didn’t seem fake or perfunctory.

Zhou Yun originally thought Elizabeth herself was just that kind of person.

Cristina said, ”She is very much a proud princess, who only interacts with people she looks up to. If she doesn’t esteem someone, she definitely won’t pay attention.”

As Zhou Yun and Cristina were talking, Elizabeth suddenly walked over to them.

”Dear Xiao Yun, you’re here!” Elizabeth welcomed with excitement, opening her arms and giving Zhou Yun a warm embrace.

Zhou Yun again marveled at how Elizabeth’s warmth was not at all like a façade.

”Hi, Elizabeth, thank you for inviting me to your party today,” Zhou Yun said.
