Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1049: Chapter 610: She Has Arrived

If someone works in an industry for many years, it’s definitely not true to say they don’t develop any feelings.

Zhou Yun trusts that Xu Caiqin has feelings for this industry after working in it for so long.

She said these words hoping Xu Caiqin could separate her feelings for Hong Kong TV Station from her feelings for the film industry.

Xu Caiqin has stayed at the TV station partly because she has built her foundation there over the years, and partly because her connections and emotional investments are all there.

So, Zhou Yun said this in hopes of motivating Xu Caiqin from another angle.

If Xu Caiqin indeed went to a bigger platform, why worry about not being able to help those old friends?

There are many talented production professionals in Hong Kong’s film industry, but they suffer from a lack of market and investment, hence the gradual decline.

However, in the context of this globalized streaming era, it’s possible that these people might encounter new opportunities.

After chatting with Zhou Yun for a while, Xu Caiqin left.

She still had to catch a flight.

As soon as Xu Caiqin left, Zheng Xiaojue curiously asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, why did you try to persuade Xu Caiqin?”

Knowing Zhou Yun, Zheng Xiaojue understood that Zhou Yun generally doesn’t offer opinions on others’ matters, as she doesn’t want to seem bossy.

Zhou Yun said, ”From a personal perspective, I feel Sister Caiqin actually wants others to encourage her. She wants to hear people persuading her to go, of course, this is just how I feel, it might not be true, also if Sister Caiqin can seize this opportunity, it would be beneficial for our entire industry.”

”Hmm.” Zheng Xiaojue nodded.

Zhou Yun immediately smiled.

Although Zheng Xiaojue nodded, Zhou Yun could tell Zheng Xiaojue didn’t really understand what she meant by ’beneficial.’

”Xiaoju, what do you think is the biggest shortcoming of China’s film and TV dramas now?” Zhou Yun asked.

Zheng Xiaojue thought seriously for a while and shook her head.

Zhou Yun said, ”In terms of influence, China’s film and TV dramas have too little presence internationally, and their influence is insufficient. In terms of quality, apart from works by major directors, the overall craftsmanship is still behind others, right?”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded immediately.

”When I was in school, I learned in political lessons about the principle of going out and bringing in.” Zhou Yun said, ”In this era, our goal might no longer be to use advanced foreign skills to control others, but learning the most advanced techniques or pushing our industry to integrate with the international community through a bigger market, don’t you think that would be beneficial?”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded, half-understanding, ”Kind of.”

”Sister Caiqin can be such a bridge.” Zhou Yun said, ”She understands our film and TV production and the market; also, she will be directly connected to major production processes in Europe and America soon, thus facilitating the exchange of information. Even if Sister Caiqin continues purchasing films, a bridge has already been established.”

Zheng Xiaojue opened her mouth wide in surprise.

”Sister Xiao Yun, you have thought about so much, before you mentioned this, I never even thought there would be so much to it.”

Zhou Yun sighed.

”Actually, I increasingly feel I think too much, almost unlike an actor anymore.”

Thinking too much affects an actor’s simplicity and purity.

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head like a rattle.

”Sister Xiao Yun, watching you act on set today, I feel your acting is more superb.” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Seeing you shed tears, I even felt aggrieved.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t really share her inner feelings with Zheng Xiaojue because Zheng Xiaojue couldn’t empathize.

”I’ll take a nap, call me later.” Zhou Yun smiled, then said.

Zheng Xiaojue immediately went to find an eye mask for Zhou Yun.

...

At this moment, a car drove into the set and parked downstairs.

A man got out from the passenger seat, wearing sunglasses, tall and burly, imposing and intimidating.

He opened a large black umbrella, walked to the back, opened the car door, and held the umbrella above the door.

Because this movie stars Zhou Yun, many paparazzi and media lingered near the set, wanting to capture firsthand material.

Seeing such a scene, sensitive people knew surely a big shot had arrived.
