Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1010: Chapter 595: Video

”Did Chen Zian ask you to read the screenplay?”

In the car returning to the hotel, Zhou Lan looked at Zhou Yun with surprise, while there was also a hint of delight on her face.

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”Sister Lan, did I misunderstand Director Chen’s intentions?”

”Probably not, I understood it the same way, no other interpretations.” Zhou Lan immediately understood what Zhou Yun was asking, ”Since Director Chen asked you to read the screenplay, it’s probably not for you to critique it.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Maybe.”

Zhou Lan: ”If you really get to collaborate with Director Chen Zian, then there’s a real chance to aim for the Oscars.”

”I’m not holding onto that thought.” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”The Oscars still aren’t very accepting of Asians. It’s actually normal if you think about it. For instance, our country’s film awards aren’t really open to foreign actors either, and many awards even have nationality requirements.”

Zhou Lan said, ”At least aim for a nomination.”

”Stay calm, stay calm.” Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Don’t get worked up over the Oscars.”

”Tomorrow is Elizabeth’s party, what do you plan to wear? Do they have a theme for the party?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”There’s no mention of a theme to me, so I’ll just wear something casual. No need to dress extravagantly since there won’t be any media taking pictures.”

Zhou Lan: ”But just know that at these kinds of parties, lots of people will definitely post group photos on their social media. If you’re not dressed well or it catches people’s eyes in a bad way, it could lead to being mocked. You shouldn’t dress too plainly; Europeans and Americans already dare to dress more boldly than us. If you still dress plainly, you might end up looking like Cinderella in photos. No matter how good-looking you are, you won’t withstand weird camera angles.”

Zhou Yun: ”Got it.”

”Who knows what will be at Elizabeth’s party.” Zhou Lan was still somewhat worried, ”I’m truly afraid there might be people with political or stance issues, and you won’t know. If you unknowingly take a photo with them, it could be used against you. They’ll say you knew about the person’s stance and still took a picture, using it to prove your relationship, and the consequences could be severe.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That’s something beyond our control. If it really happens, just clarify the situation directly. Apologize if needed, as long as we have a clear conscience.”

Zhou Lan: ”I should have the PR team prepare a plan; I’m always a bit uneasy.”

”Actually, Sister Lan, you shouldn’t worry too much. We roughly know which celebrities here in the United States have such issues. I also follow these news stories regularly, so there’s basically no problem.” Zhou Yun said, ”Plus, I’m not willing to take pictures with just anyone. I only take photos with people I know. I’m not a souvenir doll that has to snap a photo with everyone.”

”That’s true, alright, I won’t worry blindly.” Zhou Lan said, ”Once we get back, get some rest early. There’s still a shoot tomorrow morning.”

”Okay.”

...

Elizabeth Seren waved goodbye to someone. Once in the car, she breathed a sigh of relief, appearing a bit fatigued.

”I’m a little tired,” she said.

Her boyfriend Daniel asked, ”Elizabeth, at the awards ceremony, I saw you talking with those two Chinese actresses before it started. Why did you spend so much time on them?”

Daniel was handsome, tall, with especially well-defined features. His appearance had drawn a lot of attention since his debut.

Elizabeth Seren glanced at him and said, ”Weren’t you preparing for your performance backstage at that time? How did you know about this? Did Gediyah tell you?”

Daniel chuckled, shrugged, and said, ”You guessed right.”

Elizabeth Seren said, ”Gediyah is biased against Asians. Don’t listen to her when she says such things.”

”But you were indeed quite enthusiastic with them, weren’t you?” Daniel said, ”You even invited them to tomorrow’s party?”

”Is that a problem?” Elizabeth Seren asked with a frown, ”What’s wrong? Do you also dislike them, like Gediyah?”

Daniel laughed heartily and said, ”Darling, I don’t have that kind of prejudice. I’m just curious why you were so enthusiastic about those two strangers. You’re not usually someone who bubbles with enthusiasm.”

Elizabeth Seren said, ”You’re wrong. I’m not enthusiastic towards both of them. I’m just fond of Zhou Yun, you know? She’s Song Chi’s girlfriend.”
