Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1014: Chapter 596: An Afternoon in New York

How should I put it?

There always seems to be a type of person who believes that their favorite celebrity is like an untainted Tianshan snow lotus, pure and beautiful.

They are innocent, adorable, unaware of making plans for themselves, and don’t understand intrigue or the ways of the world.

Zhou Yun once had a group of fans who thought of her this way.

But this perception didn’t last long, and soon no one thought of Zhou Yun this way anymore.

Maybe it’s because Zhou Yun’s rise was too rapid, her status too elevated, that no one dared to easily regard someone with her position and accolades as innocent and pure.

Innocence and purity have always been the evaluation of harmless underlings by those in power.

Perhaps it’s because Zhou Yun never publicly displayed this side, not even offering an innocent expression.

Zhou Yun doesn’t like to create such an image, even though a harmless image would win favor more easily.

However, goodwill is easy to gain, yet not genuine, and hard to maintain.

Eventually, Zhou Yun’s career-focused fans grew in number.

More fans saw an incredible hope, a hope they couldn’t find in other actors—Zhou Yun could become a legend.

There are always those who say that in this era, legends have faded, and new legends cannot emerge.

Yet Zhou Yun, in this era of information splintering into fragments, seized achievements that many actors couldn’t attain in a lifetime with an overwhelming momentum.

And she is still so young.

Such a person, she can be kind, but absolutely cannot be weak; she can be ambitious, but absolutely cannot be desireless.

Proficient in English.

This is a tag associated with Zhou Yun.

Precisely a tag that Zhou Yun must emphasize.

Because she endorses many international brands, including luxury brands, and her future films will follow an international route, English proficiency is not just a matter of face for Zhou Yun, but a signal being sent out.

There are more and more young artists in the entertainment industry who are proficient in English, but these individuals often come from well-off backgrounds and grew up in bilingual environments, and they don’t enter the entertainment industry to become actors.

Those truly pursuing an acting career, due to their upbringing environment, do not have a bilingual background; relying solely on English knowledge from middle and high school, they might understand scripts but struggle to express themselves fluently in English.

Zhou Yun has a strong English foundation, but her spoken English was polished during college.

There wasn’t really an opportunity to practice spoken English during middle and high school.

In recent days in the United States, everywhere Zhou Yun goes, in any setting, her fluent English allows her to freely communicate with everyone. In this aspect, He Wenyun’s English isn’t as fluent as hers; it’s evident that He Wenyun’s English is not as good as Zhou Yun’s.

Many international brands like partnering with Zhou Yun, partly because of this.

Language allows these brands to communicate directly with Zhou Yun, and Zhou Yun can directly participate in various international events.

In short, Zhou Lan understands the importance of language for an actress taking the international route, so she deliberately and comprehensively reinforces this image of Zhou Yun.

Especially when interviewed by foreign media, every time the other side asks whether to arrange a translator or a Chinese-speaking editor, Zhou Lan answers very confidently.

”No need, Zhou Yun’s English is excellent; she doesn’t need a translator.”

Because of Zhou Yun, Zhou Lan requires Wang Jing, Yuk Chu, Huang Zicheng, and Lu Zhongting to all improve their English. She specially arranged English classes for them to study and improve their proficiency.

Zhou Lan often says, ”In the future, we are going to take an international route. Others may not have the avenues even if they want to. We have this channel. Whether acting or other collaborations, if you can communicate fluently in English, that opens a gap between you and other artists, understand?”

In fact, because of work, Zhou Lan indeed has resources that some other agents don’t.

For instance, overseas fashion shows, charity activities, brand events, and so on.

Many resources initially came to Zhou Lan because of Zhou Yun; many of these resources Zhou Yun can’t utilize, but Zhou Lan still makes every effort to recommend her other artists.
