Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1044: Chapter 606: On-Site Revision_2

Yuk Chu nodded, ”I will.”

”Good, that’s settled then,” Zhou Lan said. ”I still hope that you can make your marriage public so that you don’t have to hide the fact that you’re having a child.”

”Okay.”

”But I need to tell you something in advance. Many actresses in this industry don’t disclose their relationships or marriage because they fear being sidelined by the market once they get married or have children. It’s a reality. When you become a mother, producers are less likely to cast you as a young girl, especially in idol dramas or romance shows, which you’ll be almost entirely excluded from.”

Yuk Chu pressed her lips together.

”But you’re not yet at the age where you can’t play these roles; you’re still young. This means that your future projects will be significantly limited,” Zhou Lan continued, ”unless one day you become as famous as Zhou Yun or Ning Yao, only then can you truly break free from these life phase-related constraints on your career.”

Yuk Chu took a deep breath and said, ”Sister Lan, you’ve also said that everyone must be responsible for their own choices, right? When I decided to have this child, I was already prepared to pay a certain price.”

Zhou Lan nodded, ”It’s best that you think this way. Then I won’t need to say more. I will adjust your upcoming work schedule. Focus all your energy on preparing for the next film. Apart from that, I’ll help reduce your workload so you can have a good rest.”

Yuk Chu nodded and then added, ”But, Sister Lan, don’t let me rest all the time. While I can still earn money, I want to earn more because there will be many expenses in the future.”

”I understand,” Zhou Lan held Yuk Chu’s hand. ”I discovered you, so even though you’re going to be a mother, I still expect you to advance further and become an outstanding actress. So, no matter what happens in the future, don’t give up on this career, understand? I often tell my other artists that we don’t compete for short-term gains; we strive for steady progress. When you announce your marriage and pregnancy, your situation will undoubtedly change dramatically. You may receive half as many job offers or even fewer, but don’t lose heart or get discouraged, understand? This situation might last for a year, two years, but it will pass. With our efforts, we can definitely go higher and further.”

Yuk Chu understood that Zhou Lan was preparing her in advance.

Pregnancy and having a child are inevitably a mixed blessing for a woman.

No woman’s work remains unaffected by these events.

And actresses are no exception... The only fortunate thing is that the acting industry can’t allocate more opportunities to male actors just because actresses will become pregnant.

This industry needs women.

Yuk Chu will face a lot of prejudice in the future. Becoming a mother in her twenties means she can no longer star in idol dramas, or historical romances, or fantasy films. Those pure, beautiful young woman roles will be out of reach for her.

However, Yuk Chu believes she can grit her teeth and wait for a new path to emerge.

...

”Chen Yin” officially started filming, but the production crew didn’t release any press statements and began shooting quietly.

Zhou Yun played a college student in the drama.

She was young enough that portraying a college student was no problem.

However, before the first scene started shooting, a foreigner suddenly appeared on the set.

Zhou Yun had not seen him in the crew before.

”Who is he?”

Zhou Yun asked the crew.

”No idea, Producer Chen brought him in personally.”

Zhou Yun sat in a chair in her slippers, gave the man several glances, and then lost interest.

She had already changed into the clothes she would wear for the scene later.

A very ordinary sweatshirt and cotton pants, her thin face looked pale.

In the scene she was about to shoot, she was gravely ill but had a fierce argument with her mom.

Zhou Yun began to get into character.

After a while, Jiang Yuzhen had finished dressing up and came over.

Her chair was placed right next to Zhou Yun’s.

After sitting down, she glanced at Zhou Yun but did not greet her.

Zhou Yun didn’t greet her either.

This deliberate tension between the two was exactly what was needed for the upcoming scene.
