Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1050: Chapter 610: She Arrives (Part 2)

I just don’t know if such big stars are considered celebrities; if not, they’re worthless to them.

As soon as someone gets out of the car, everyone’s cameras are immediately focused.

The person getting out of the car, in the dead of winter, is actually wearing a pair of shallow silver high heels, leading up to a pair of long, slender legs, which radiate a pearl-like sheen even in the gloomy weather backdrop.

The paparazzi who understand these things immediately realize that this must be a celebrity.

Only a celebrity would ”make up” her own legs.

Sure enough, the moment her face appears under the umbrella, all lenses focusing on her start capturing.

Yu Sitian.

This cold winter month, with temperatures so low that even birds don’t want to stay outside.

The surrogate photographers and paparazzi are staking out in the open, enduring the hardships of their trade.

But capturing Yu Sitian makes this whole day worth the stakeout.

Yu Sitian used to be a small-time in movies, before Zhou Yun burst onto the scene, and no matter how much money the producers threw at her, she wouldn’t budge and act in TV dramas, maintaining her style and status.

But with Zhou Yun’s rise, she dealt a dimensional blow to actresses of the same age group in both movie and TV fields.

Yu Sitian’s standing in the film industry suddenly lost its original luster — after all, she didn’t have many representative works in film, leaving no distinctly memorable roles for the audience.

Yu Sitian had no choice but to transition and took on TV dramas.

She’s a very smart actress, though rather spoiled, she clearly knows her strengths and shortcomings.

She didn’t dive into the youth idol dramas — nine out of ten scripts in this genre are considered intolerably clichéd.

She took on the family ensemble drama ”Dragon Ascending,” playing a role very close to her own personality.

The series premiered at the end of last month, initially without a sound, but as the plot progressed, slowly gained more and more audience attention aided by word-of-mouth.

Yu Sitian’s character has gained much appreciation from many people.

In the drama, she plays a hot-tempered but extraordinarily innocent girl. Such a pure and good character is inherently easy to garner audience affection, and with so many years of movie acting polish, Yu Sitian has no trouble bringing this character to life — her spoiled and headstrong nature is in essence playing herself.

Thus, Yu Sitian’s popularity finally begins to have a bit of real substance under years of ”unrealistically high” standing.

After getting off the car, Yu Sitian notices quite a few cameras filming around her, frowns, and says irritably, ”Why do they follow me wherever I go?”

The assistant walks alongside Yu Sitian, saying with a smile, ”Isn’t it because Sitian your popularity is too high right now.”

The assistant’s words make Yu Sitian’s somewhat irritable expression instantly turn bright again.

But Yu Sitian seems unwilling to show that she’s particularly thrilled, as if happy just for a little bit of popularity.

”Oh, popularity or not, I never pay attention, as long as people like the roles I play, I’m satisfied.” Yu Sitian says to the assistant, ”This time I have to act alongside Zhou Yun, you must keep a close eye for me, she’s not easy to deal with, if she plays some tricks, I might not be able to guard against it.”

”Sitian, don’t worry, I’ll pay attention.” The assistant says loyally, ”I’ll personally handle everything.”

Yu Sitian nods, ”I can rest easy with you around.”

She walks into the set.

It’s an old building without an elevator.

Yu Sitian is panting heavily climbing the stairs.

”Why don’t they build a set?” Yu Sitian gasps impatiently, ”This floor is so high, I’ve had enough climbing.”

”The director prefers real shooting, you know, he especially scouted several locations before settling on this one,” the assistant explains, ”I now feel it’s directors who focus on details that can produce good shows. Sitian, do you remember? During the filming of ’Dragon Ascending,’ many people complained that the director was overly meticulous, annoyed that even a cup being too new was an issue, but now viewers praise the show’s detailed craftsmanship, with good texture and strong word-of-mouth. Directors who don’t put effort into such details aren’t good at controlling quality.”

Yu Sitian smiles briefly and says, ”You seem to have become more professional than I am speaking of these things.”

”How could that be!” The assistant shakes her head quickly, ”I’m just learning quickly and parroting.”

Yu Sitian: ”I wonder if Zhou Yun and Jiang Yuzhen’s shoot is going smoothly.”

As she speaks, she arrives at the filming site.

Due to the live shooting, many pieces of equipment have to be squeezed into this cramped building.

Director Kang Xin is not in the house where the actors are filming, but next door.

The crew rented the adjacent apartment too, using it as a studio.

Director Kang Xin sits behind the monitor, wearing headphones, watching the screen with a serious and focused expression.

It appears filming is underway.

Yu Sitian carefully approaches Kang Xin from behind.

Kang Xin doesn’t notice someone approaching, fully engrossed in the screen.

Yu Sitian gets a view of the content on the screen.

Zhou Yun is hugging her knees, sitting on the bed, staring blankly out the window.

A beam of light shines on her face, vividly marking the trails of tears—already dried.

Yu Sitian cannot hear any sound, can only see the image.

But this scene is like a needle, directly piercing Yu Sitian’s heart.

Sitian came eagerly hoping Zhou Yun might not be acting well.

Who knew that in this single scene, Zhou Yun performed at such a level.

Yu Sitian never felt her acting was inferior to Zhou Yun’s, but she cannot deny, Zhou Yun’s acting is truly skillful.

She feels a bit jealous.

She didn’t even realize her own jealousy.
