Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1003: Chapter 593: Elizabeth Seren and Gediyah Lawrence_4

Zhou Yun didn’t want to clash with Gediyah in such a place either, so he nodded slightly and got into the car.

Gediyah watched the car carrying Zhou Yun drive away, and asked her assistant angrily, ”When is our car going to arrive?”

The assistant said, ”It’s almost here.”

Gediyah was burning with rage, ”It’s infuriating!”

...

Friday evening was the New York Film Critics Circle Awards Ceremony.

Zhou Yun was invited to attend as the lead actor of ”Behind the Scenes.”

In fact, due to ”Behind the Scenes,” almost every awards ceremony had invited Zhou Yun.

However, Zhou Yun hadn’t attended before because he was far away in China.

This was Zhou Yun’s first formal appearance at a pre-Oscar awards ceremony.

This time, Zhou Yun didn’t wear VX but collaborated with Dior, which had been communicating with him for a long time.

This made Zheng Xiaowen a bit unhappy.

But neither Zhou Yun nor Zhou Lan compromised because Zheng Xiaowen was unhappy.

As Zhou Yun’s steps got faster, it would inevitably become impossible for her to only wear VX in every occasion, no matter how close the partnership was.

This would affect many aspects of Zhou Yun.

In fact, Xiaowen understood this as well; she just hoped this moment would come as late as possible.

Of course, Zhou Lan didn’t make Xiaowen too uneasy; she promised Xiaowen that Zhou Yun would wear VX’s custom design at the next awards ceremony.

This time, Dior gave Zhou Yun a custom outfit.

This fully demonstrated Dior’s regard for Zhou Yun.

It actually had a lot to do with Zhou Yun’s status in the Chinese market.

Many celebrities are very popular and have lots of fans in the domestic market, but they are not favored by rich people, who find them unsophisticated, superficial, and lacking talent.

One major difference Zhou Yun has from other celebrities is that she is a legitimate top student, who entered A University through high scores on entrance exams.

At the same time, she holds major awards, has representative works, and even those who are envious must admit her professional abilities are commendable.

Rich people usually particularly care about concepts like ”style” and ”quality.”

They may not understand these concepts, but they definitely emphasize them to highlight their own style and quality.

Zhou Yun endorses a brand, and her image as an endorser reflects the brand’s image.

This is also why many luxury brands have been ridiculed in the recent year or two for their choice of endorsers; the main reason is that people feel the endorser’s image lowers the brand’s image, and loyal customers of these brands also feel the style is diminished.

Zhou Yun has achieved a remarkable feat with her endorsement of VX over the past two years, not only heating up the ordinary ready-to-wear market but also having strong influence in the luxury segment, and rich people recognize Zhou Yun.

For Dior, these six words are enough.

With such a large market in China, who wouldn’t want the best person as an endorser?

Dior had been communicating about customized dresses with Zhou Yun for a long time, and by Thursday, they arranged for someone to bring her the final fitting.

Their enthusiasm was evident to Zhou Lan, who smiled internally.

A celebrity’s commercial value is most directly reflected in these brands’ attitudes.

It’s very realistic and very direct.

After knowing Gediyah’s attitude towards Zhou Yun, Zhou Lan was also angry, but her way to vent was to make sure one day Zhou Yun would gain more fame worldwide than Gediyah, forcing Gediyah to look up to her.

On Friday, after a morning interview, Zhou Lan took Zhou Yun to have lunch with a producer from the United States.

This producer was an experienced one, although Zhou Yun hadn’t heard of his name before, she was very familiar with many films he had produced.

This producer got to know Zhou Lan at the business dinner the other day and suggested having a meal with Zhou Yun, which Zhou Lan agreed to after some thought.

During this lunch, nothing substantive was discussed; they just chatted about movies and some gossip and ended on friendly terms.

In the afternoon, Zhou Yun took a nap and then went for a full-body skincare treatment before starting her makeup and styling, preparing for the awards ceremony.

While Zhou Yun was doing her makeup, Zhou Lan held the guest list she had obtained and introduced each guest to Zhou Yun.

Events like tonight were undoubtedly a big social gathering.

If you don’t sort out who’s who, you won’t know how to greet them.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect to hear Gediyah and Elizabeth’s names again.

They would also be attending.

Zhou Lan said, ”Both of them are in the limelight this year, I guess you’ll see them at many occasions and events in the future.”

”Hmm,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”It’s fine.”

But what Zhou Yun didn’t expect was that You Jiang would also attend tonight, and he would walk the red carpet with the ”Behind the Scenes” crew.

”Has Teacher You been discharged from the hospital?”

”Probably not yet fully recovered, but he can’t wait any longer,” Zhou Lan said, ”If he continues to stay in the hospital, he’ll miss a lot of events, and he definitely wouldn’t want to see those opportunities slip away.”

”Teacher You is really driven.”

”Yes.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”You know, what if I poached Teacher You?”

”Poach him?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, ”You want to bring Teacher You to Chengqian Entertainment?”

”Of course not. I mean, I want to sign Teacher You’s film agent contract,” Zhou Lan said, ”None of the actors I’m responsible for are in Teacher You’s age group and type, it’s a blank space, and my focus and direction aligning with Teacher You’s next steps, his current agency can’t help him much, especially in films, but I can.”

Zhou Yun found it surprising at first but then realized Zhou Lan made sense upon thinking it through.

If Zhou Lan were in charge of Teacher You Jiang’s film agent contract, they would have shared interests and career directions and a lot of room for collaboration.

”Then maybe find a chance to ask teacher You to see if he’s interested,” Zhou Yun suggested, ”Teacher You might not be willing, and neither might his agency.”

”All of this can be negotiated,” Zhou Lan said, ”Besides, his agency would be making easy money if I can boost Teacher You’s profile, and his income from other areas would rise as well. Any sensible company would consider it seriously.”

Hearing Zhou Lan say this, Zhou Yun nodded, quietly listening to Zhou Lan’s plans.
