Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 693: Chapter 492: Intimate Lovers (Part 4)

Zhou Yun took leave from the film crew to attend the award ceremony.

This time, the whole team from ”Heart Inquiry” appeared together on the red carpet. Su Yan walked triumphantly, waving her arms as if she was fiercely letting out a breath of pent-up frustration.

Su Yan harbored deep resentments toward the Huayu Award, but it was all compensated at the Sky Award.

She finally received a significant nomination for Best Actress.

Even though she knew that her chances of winning tonight were slim, with both Wei Ru Xue and Mo Zhihan from ”Sky Domain” being more popular contenders,

it was her first time getting such a significant nomination for Best Actress, and that alone was worth celebrating for a long time.

Today, Zhou Yun was not dressed very grandly—of course, she still chose a gown, but it was relatively conservative; she did not intend to dazzle the crowd tonight.

Song Chi even commented that her dress was quite plain.

Zhou Yun said, ”If it weren’t for the chance to see you today, I might not have come.”

Today, Song Chi, sitting in a wheelchair, appeared in public for the first time after the accident.

Zhou Yun was responsible for pushing his wheelchair, so she didn’t wear a trailing long dress to make walking easier.

Song Chi chose to appear in a wheelchair also as a gesture of gratitude to the Sky Award for encouraging ”Heart Inquiry.”

Anyway, he needed to show support for the event.

Upon entering backstage, Song Chi caught everyone’s attention and many came over to greet him.

The previous rumors of his death in a car accident had truly shocked everyone.

Thankfully, it was false news.

But Song Chi was seriously injured, and everyone was concerned about him.

Because of his injury, the ongoing film and two upcoming projects that Song Chi was involved in faced the possibility of recasting or delays in shooting.

Chatting with everyone, Song Chi smiled and said, ”After being busy for so long, this is actually a blessing in disguise. I get to rest for a bit.”

Throughout, Zhou Yun solely managed his wheelchair and accompanied him with a smile.

During this time, they encountered Wei Ru Xue.

Wei Ru Xue showed concern and asked about Song Chi’s condition, and said to Zhou Yun, ”It must have been tough taking care of Song Chi during this time?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”I’ve been filming, his assistant has been taking care of him.”

Wei Ru Xue showed a surprised expression, chuckled out of politeness and said, ”Oh, I see. I misunderstood.”

Song Chi placed his hand over Zhou Yun’s, which was on the right handle of the wheelchair, smiled and said, ”I didn’t want her to take leave from the crew to take care of me. It wasn’t necessary; I’m not without care.”

Wei Ru Xue laughed and said, ”I’m getting jealous of Xiao Yun, having such a thoughtful boyfriend like you.”

Zhou Yun smiled, not saying anything.

It was time, and everyone proceeded to their seats.

The results of the Sky Award held no surprises; Best Supporting Actress went to Zhou Yun, Best Actress to Mo Zhihan, Best Actor to a venerable senior, Best Director to Kang Xin, Best TV Drama to ”Sky Domain”. ”Spring Cold”, which had won most at the Huayu Award, fell short at the Sky Award, not securing any major awards.

However, these outcomes were expected by everyone.

The most competitive award for ”Spring Cold” was indeed the Best Actress award for Wei Ru Xue, who had already won at the Huayu Award. Winning again at the Sky Award was highly unlikely.

After the award ceremony ended, Zhou Yun accompanied Song Chi for a while at the dinner and party that followed, but since she had to shoot ”Four Killers” the next day, she had to leave at midnight.

Before she left, Kang Xin said, ”Xiao Yun, let’s have a chat after you are done with ’Four Killers’.”

Zhou Yun agreed, ”I’ll contact you once I’m back.”

Strangely, after winning the award this time, Zhou Yun didn’t feel as excited as the last time when she didn’t win. She returned to the set with the trophy, placed it beside her bed and quickly fell asleep.

The next day, back on set, everyone congratulated her on her win. She thought about it and asked Zheng Xiaojue to arrange for everyone to have coffee, which made everyone very happy.

Zhou Yun found a secluded, empty corner to call Song Chi, as she didn’t like having people around when talking to him.

”Are you home?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi replied, ”No, I’m at the office in a meeting.”

”You’re this dedicated even with broken bones,” Zhou Yun teased.

Song Chi chuckled, ”Well, since I can’t film due to the fractures, I might as well handle things at the office quickly.”
