Chapter 684: Chapter 490: Unexpected Accident

Not to exaggerate, but Zhou Yun was genuinely scared today.

For a while there, her mind was a complete blank, thoughts unable to function.

In recent years, there have been few times when she felt so helpless. If it weren’t for Song Chi’s call, Zhou Yun wouldn’t know what she would be like next.

She was truly frightened.

”What exactly happened? Wh-why does the internet say that you...” Zhou Yun couldn’t even bring herself to say that word.

Song Chi said, ”Indeed there was a car accident, but I’m not as badly injured as they think. I was also startled when I saw the news online, I didn’t expect them to write such nonsense.”

”Are you in the hospital right now?” Zhou Yun asked.

”Mhm, I just finished the medical check-up, luckily nothing serious, just a bit of a concussion,” Song Chi said, ”I’ll need to recuperate in the hospital for about ten days to half a month.”

Once Zhou Yun heard that, she knew Song Chi was definitely not telling the whole truth.

If it was just a concussion, he wouldn’t need to stay in the hospital for so long.

But she didn’t press for the truth over the phone; Song Chi definitely wouldn’t say.

Zhou Yun said, ”Which hospital are you at? I’ll come and see you in a bit.”

Song Chi: ”Aren’t you in the middle of filming? Don’t come, I’m not seriously injured.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll know whether it’s serious or not once I see for myself. Stop arguing, quickly send me the address, or else I’ll get it from someone else.”

”If you come to see me now, you might get a shock.”

”Ah?”

”The injuries on my body look quite severe, though bones aren’t affected, there are many external wounds, it looks particularly terrifying. You might get scared if you saw them, please, I’m fine, see, I’m still able to call you, right? Stay in the crew and film peacefully, I called you so you wouldn’t get scared by the news.”

Zhou Yun: ”Okay then, just send me the address, I’ll visit you when I have time later, you can’t keep me from knowing where you are.”

Song Chi then agreed.

”Alright, I got it.”

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Yun let out a long sigh.

Zheng Xiaojue looked at her expectantly and asked, ”Was that Brother Chi who just called you?”

Zhou Yun smiled lightly, nodded, and said, ”Yes.”

Zheng Xiaojue screamed with joy, ”That’s such great news! I truly was scared to death! What is wrong with these unscrupulous media writing such terrible news! Do they even verify the facts!”

Zhou Yun’s hands were still trembling.

Her feelings were nearly identical to Zheng Xiaojue’s.

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, there still hasn’t been any new news about Brother Chi on the internet.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Song Chi’s side is overwhelmed, let me clarify for him.”

She logged into Weibo and posted: Just spoke to Song Chi on the phone, this world isn’t ready to let go of him yet, you unscrupulous media representing the netherworld, stop your rumor-mongering mouths.

Her Weibo post exploded online immediately upon release.

Song Chi’s fans were overjoyed and tearful, swarming under Zhou Yun’s Weibo post to leave messages of gratitude.

Fans’ feelings are indeed pure; knowing that Song Chi was not deceased like the unscrupulous media claimed, they didn’t care about anything else.

After posting on Weibo, Zhou Yun put down her phone.

Everyone around her was still looking at her.

Zhou Yun looked at them, pursed her lips, smiled, and said, ”Song Chi is fine, the media wrote nonsense.”

She could almost hear everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

...

”Eldest Sister Yun, are we really going for a sneak visit?” Zheng Xiaojue asked worriedly.

Zhou Yun glanced at her and said, ”If you dare sneak information to him, your salary for this month is gone.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”...Eldest Sister Yun, you can’t do that.”

”Watch me. Don’t think I don’t know you’re always secretly telling Song Chi about my affairs,” Zhou Yun said.

Zheng Xiaojue: ”...”

When had Eldest Sister Yun found out?

Although Zhou Yun promised Song Chi that she would visit him when she had time and definitely inform him beforehand, this time Zhou Yun didn’t plan to keep her promise.

After she finished filming today’s scenes, she was prepared to drive back to Shanghai to visit Song Chi in the hospital.

Cao Jun refused to let her drive back by herself, so Zhou Yun had no choice but to bring along two ”tail-buddies.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Your Brother Chi’s injuries definitely aren’t as trivial as he says, I must see for myself to be at ease.”

Zheng Xiaojue made a sound of acknowledgment.

The look on her face was somewhat guilt-ridden.

That was because Song Chi had indeed asked her in private, if Zhou Yun sneakily went to visit him, to send him a message so that he could hide away.

Since Song Chi had spoken of hiding, his injuries were certainly not light. He didn’t want Sister Xiao Yun to worry, and that’s why he did it. Zheng Xiaojue found herself caught between a rock and a hard place; on one side she wanted to listen to Song Chi to ease Sister Xiao Yun’s worries, on the other side, she didn’t want to deceive Sister Xiao Yun and keep her in the dark.

Suddenly, the car came to an abrupt stop.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue were thrown forward due to the inertia.

The sudden braking was a bit frightening.

”What’s the matter?” Zhou Yun asked.

Cao Jun said, ”The car in front suddenly braked.”

Zhou Yun looked ahead.

Since it was night, she couldn’t see clearly; she could only make out the outline of the car in front but why it had stopped was not visible.

Cao Jun shifted the car to the right, ready to change lanes and move away.

Oddly enough, although the lane to their right was clear, the car in front that had braked suddenly remained stationary.

As they pulled alongside the car, Zhou Yun deliberately glanced inside.

It was pitch black, but fortunately, the headlights allowed her to make out some silhouettes inside.

There was just one person in that car, the driver.

Zhou Yun, upon seeing this person, was startled.

”Wait, stop the car!” Zhou Yun cried.

Cao Jun slammed on the brakes.

”What’s the matter?”

Zhou Yun said, ”The driver, the driver—he’s slumped over the steering wheel, something’s not right.”

Cao Jun and Zheng Xiaojue both saw it as well.

Cao Jun turned on the hazard lights, took out his phone, and got out of the car, saying, ”Wait for me here in the car; I’ll go take a look.”

Zhou Yun agreed.

Cao Jun got out and seemed to try to open the other car’s door, but couldn’t open it.

He knocked on the other car’s window.

Zhou Yun saw the silhouette slouched over the steering wheel move slightly.

Thank goodness it moved.

Not dead.

Zhou Yun let out a sigh of relief.

However, the person seemed to struggle even to lift their head; movements were labored.

Definitely something had happened.

Zhou Yun said to Zheng Xiaojue, ”Xiaoju, quickly call emergency services, get an ambulance!”

Zheng Xiaojue didn’t know what had happened, but Zhou Yun’s tense tone inadvertently made her tense up as well.

”Okay, I’m calling right now,” Zheng Xiaojue hurriedly took out her phone.
